Months after posting photos of what appeared to be an engagement ring, Dua Lipa confirmed her engagement to actor Callum Turner. 'Yeah, we're engaged,' Lipa said in an interview with British Vogue published on June 12. 'It's very exciting.' Lipa said Turner had the ring made after discussions with her sister and best friends. 'I'm obsessed with it,' Lipa said. 'It's so me. It's nice to know the person that you're going to spend the rest of your life with knows you very well.' But now, she said, 'This decision to grow old together, to see a life and just, I don't know, be best friends forever — it's a really special feeling.' Lipa said she first met Turner, 35, at The River Cafe in London when she was having dinner with her father and he was grabbing a meal with friends. But they could have met several times before, she explained. In 2014, she was working at a London restaurant, and they later found a photo of Turner outside of the same spot. And in 2020, they went to the same party, pre-COVID, and even had photos with the same guy in the background, she said. About a year after she was introduced to Turner at The River Cafe, she was having dinner in Los Angeles with a friend, 'and all of a sudden Callum shows up,' she said. 'Oh, it's that really hot guy from The River Cafe,' she recalled thinking at the time. Lipa said Turner walked over and asked her what she was reading, and she answered 'Trust,' by Hernan Diaz. 'And we both just happened to be reading the same book,' she said. When asked if all of the events makes her feel like they were destined to be together, she replied, 'One thousand per cent.'
