Born and raised in Puducherry, Rechal lost her mother at a young age and was brought up by her father, Gandhi, who stood by her ambitions to become a model. Her journey to self-acceptance began in school, where she faced bullying and discrimination for her darker skin tone. Instead of retreating, she chose to confront these biases head-on-using the very industry that once rejected her as a platform for change."The key is to focus on yourself, irrespective of what society says," she once said. "I want to bring that kind of change."RISING STARRechal's modelling career was defined by courage and conviction. Despite being turned away from several pageants in her early days due to her complexion, she broke through to win four major beauty titles and walk international ramps in London, Germany, and France. In 2023, she represented India at the 'Miss Africa Golden' pageant.
San Rechal won four major beauty titles.
She co-founded 'Rose Noire Fashion & Grooming Ltd', a modelling agency, and ran 'RADO's Gift', a non-profit that cared for stray and indigenous puppies - a cause close to her heart. On social media, where she had a following of over 180,000 on Instagram, Rechal often shared her thoughts on self-worth, beauty bias, and animal welfare.

She was also an active member of the "Pondicherry Queens" community on Coto, a platform aimed at empowering women.RECHAL WAS BATTLING DEPRESSIONAccording to police, Rechal had been battling depression and severe financial stress in the months leading up to her death. After reportedly consuming an overdose of sleeping pills at her father's home on July 5, she was first taken to the Puducherry Government Hospital and later transferred to JIPMER, where she succumbed to complications.Authorities said she had sold jewellery recently to fund her career and had sought financial help from her father, who was unable to assist due to obligations toward her younger brother. According to reports, a note recovered by the police stated that no one was responsible for her death, but officials are also looking into possible marital issues as a contributing factor. She had married recently, though little is publicly known about her husband or the nature of the relationship.- Ends

Kingdom Review: Is It Vijay Deverakonda's Best Film Yet?
1/10 Fans took to social media platform X to share their thoughts. One user wrote, "First half reviews from USA are super, couldn't be happier for you, @TheDeverakonda ❤️🔥🔥 #Kingdom." Another added, "Peak Performance Of King 👑 @TheDeverakonda and mind-blowing BGM @anirudhofficial. Masterpiece of Indian Cinema… Welcome Our New PowerStar." (Image: IMDb) Fans will be glad to see Vijay shedding his flamboyant image to completely transform into a layered spy with a gravitas that lends him strength. (Image: IMDb) Bhagyashri Borse, the leading lady, has a limited role in the gritty thriller. She leaves her mark considerably well. (Image: IMDb) Satyadev, who plays Vijay's brother, does a class act. His acting elevates the story to new heights. (Image: IMDb) Director Gowtam Tinnanuri sticks to his signature storytelling - focused, and slow-burning. His vision of a resilient spy may not be emotionally charging, but it will leave an impact. (Image: Instagram) The first half may seem a tad bit slow and dragging, but the pace picks up in the second half. Strong performances, stunning visuals, great music - they all combine to make Kingdom a decent watch. Perhaps the second installment would be more explosive than this one. (Image: Instagram)

French Band Lulu Van Trapp's Singer Performs Topless In Protest After Being Groped During Concert
Rebecca Baby, lead singer of French pop band Lulu Van Trapp, is making headlines for taking a bold stand against sexual harassment after being assaulted by audience members during a live show. While on stage at the Le Cri de la Goutte festival in Ain, France, the singer was allegedly groped by multiple men. Though visibly shaken, she returned to the stage and refused to let the incident define the moment. In a powerful act of protest against the sexualisation of women's bodies, she removed her top and completed the performance topless, reigniting conversations around consent, control, and public safety for women. The incident occurred mid-show on Saturday. In a now-deleted Instagram post, the singer shared the ordeal, alleging that she was groped by multiple men as she descended into the crowd. However, instead of stopping the performance mid-way, she addressed the crowd, informing them what happened and then went on to finish the concert topless. "I'm faced with a choice. Either I stop the concert and everyone loses, especially me, or I continue. I'll stay topless until it's normal. Until your brains get used to it not being sexual," she declared on Instagram. Separately, the Le Cri de la Goutte festival issued a statement addressing the incident. "The Cri de la Goutte Festival wants to give its support to the group @luluvantrapp, mainly to Rebecca following the assault that took place during her descent into the audience," it wrote in an Instagram post. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Le Cri de la Goutte Festival (@cri_delagoutte) "This behaviour is unacceptable. It is a total contradiction with the values of the Cri de la Goutte: respect, kindness, inclusion, safety for all: festival-goers, volunteers, artists, partners and providers. We strongly condemn it. We remind you that our festival wants to be a safe space, a place of sharing and freedom, where everyone must be able to express themselves, create, vibe and live without fear. Music brings together, it should never be a ground for violence," the organisers added. In response, the band thanked the festival. The singer stated that she will soon make a more detailed post explaining what happened. "If anyone on here has videos of the performance and especially of me speaking after the assault I would love them to me thank you very much! And thank you to the audience (-1 or 2 idiots) that was wonderful," the band wrote in the comments section. Meanwhile, on social media, Rebecca's actions have sent shock waves, with many praising her for her powerful and bold move. "Bravo to the singer, what strength. Sincerely hoping that it is these guys who are ashamed," wrote one user. "Thank you for this post. Support for the singer of @luluvantrapp and congratulations to her for giving her all on stage despite the attack," commented another.
