Malegaon Blast Acquittal Sparks Political Storm In Madhya Pradesh
The verdict, described by the BJP as a "victory of truth and Sanatan Dharma", was met with jubilation across the state. At the Bada Udasin Akhara on Ramghat in Ujjain, spiritual leaders including Sureshwaranand Maharaj, Mahant Vishal Das Maharaj and Mahant Satyanand, gathered to congratulate each other, sharing sweets and chanting in celebration.
"This decision is a slap on the face of those who declared saffron as terrorist," said Sureshwaranand Maharaj of Panchayati Shri Niranjani Akhara. "Saffron can never be terrorist."
Mahant Vishal Das Maharaj, President of Sant Samiti, added, "There is immense joy in all 13 Akharas. Saffron has always been a symbol of the nation and peace."
Similar scenes unfolded at the Bhopal residence of former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Uma Bharti, where supporters burst firecrackers and distributed sweets.
Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav hailed the verdict as a moral blow to Congress. He posted on X, "Satyamev Jayate... All the accused being proved innocent in the Malegaon blast case is a strong blow to the narrow mentality of the Congress. The party that created the narrative of 'Hindu terrorism' should remember that a Hindu can never be a terrorist." He demanded a public apology from the Congress to all Sanatanis.
A visibly emotional Ms Bharti alleged a "deep-rooted conspiracy" to malign the Hindu community. "There was a deliberate attempt to paint saffron with the brush of terrorism. While the world was fighting Islamic terrorism, here an attempt was made to create a parallel narrative of Hindu terrorism," she said.
Former Madhya Pradesh BJP chief and serving Khajuraho MP VD Sharma accused Congress leaders, particularly two-term chief minister Digvijay Singh, of fabricating the saffron terror narrative. "Today's verdict proves Congress tried to malign Hindutva. Will Digvijay Singh and P Chidambaram now apologise for branding innocent people as terrorists?" he asked.
The Congress response was mixed. Former Chief Minister Kamal Nath said, "It is the court's decision. Everyone will accept it. Whether one considers it right or wrong, the verdict has been delivered."
Congress MLA Arif Masood called for a Supreme Court appeal, citing the precedent of further legal pursuit in the blast case.
Jaivardhan Singh, Congress MLA and son of Digvijay Singh, struck an ideological note. "A terrorist is a terrorist. It is wrong to associate any religion or colour with terrorism. People who praise Nathuram Godse have no place in a democracy. Sadhvi Pragya has repeatedly praised Gandhi's killers, which stands against India's founding values," he said.

Earlier scheme defunct, Chhattisgarh to launch new cattle protection plan
The Chhattisgarh government will soon launch a new cattle protection scheme called Gaudham Yojana with a 'special focus on curbing illegal trafficking and ensuring safety of stray cattle'. It will shelter cows seized by police during anti-smuggling operations, said a government statement. 'The Livestock Development Department has designed this scheme keeping in mind the safety of cattle seized during illegal transportation or smuggling, as well as stray cattle. The state already has a ban on illegal trafficking and transportation of animals… Each Gaudham will be able to house a maximum of 200 cattle, depending on capacity,' stated the release. Court concern In the past one year, the Chhattisgarh High Court has more than once expressed concerns on stray cattle that puts the lives of both the animals as well as humans at risk on Chhattisgarh roads and highways. The new scheme bundles provisions such as fixed monthly honorarium of ₹10,916 for cowherds and ₹13,126 for cattle attendants. Additionally, a fixed daily allowance will be provided for cattle fodder. Outstanding cattle shelters will receive daily per-animal payments – ₹10 in the first year, ₹20 in the second year, ₹30 in the third year, and ₹35 in the fourth year. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said the Gaudham Yojana will ensure livestock safety in the State while providing a regular source of income to a large number of cowherds and cattle attendants. The new scheme effectively replaces the now defunct Gauthan Yojana, launched by the previous Bhupesh Baghel-led Congress government three years ago, under which the honorariums were decided by committees operating the cattle shelters.

Telangana to instal solar plants in all govt. offices
Telangana Deputy Chief Minister M. Bhatti Vikramarka has asked the District Collectors to go for installation of solar power plants on government buildings and take a proactive role in the implementation of Indira Solar Girijana Vikasam scheme in RoFR (Recognition of Forest Rights) lands. At a review meeting held here on Saturday along with Minister for Social Welfare Adluri Laxman Kumar and attended virtually by the District Collectors, Mr. Vikramarka asked the authorities to send plans of all Integrated Collectorate complexes to the Telangana Renewable Energy Development Corporation Ltd. The Deputy CM, who also holds the Energy portfolio, said solar power plants would be installed in all government offices across the State – from gram panchayat buildings to the Secretariat – to produce power on a large scale. Apart from government buildings, the Congress government also plans to instal solar power plants on government schools, junior colleges, degree colleges and higher education institution buildings.

CPM Demands Parliamentary Law for 42% BC Reservations, Inclusion in Ninth Schedule
Gadwal: The Central Government must enact and implement a law in Parliament ensuring 42% reservations for Backward Classes (BCs), demanded CPM District Secretary A. Venkataswamy. Responding to the call given by the State Committee, the CPM organized a dharna at the Old Bus Stand in the district headquarters on Saturday, demanding that a law for 42% BC reservations be enacted immediately and included in the Ninth Schedule of the Indian Constitution. Speaking on the occasion, Venkataswamy said that the Telangana State Government had already passed a resolution in the Legislative Assembly and sent it to the Centre for approval of 42% BC reservations. However, the Centre is allegedly betraying BCs by failing to pass such a law in Parliament, and instead trying to communalize the issue. He criticized the BJP for sidelining the key constitutional purpose of reservations—ensuring economic, political, and social equality for backward classes—and for denying equality in education, employment, and livelihood opportunities. Venkataswamy alleged that the BJP wants to push BC reservations aside while it continues to implement similar reservations in BJP-ruled states without objections. He accused the BJP of attempting to divide people in Telangana along religious lines by limiting reservations to a religious narrative. He demanded a constitutional amendment to include BC reservations in the Ninth Schedule for legal protection. Condemning divisive and hate politics, he stated that the people of Telangana—the birthplace of armed peasant struggles—would never accept such politics. He also accused BJP leaders in the state of irresponsibly encouraging communal hatred and demanded that they immediately withdraw their statements. He criticized the Congress Party as well, stating that it appears to lack sincerity on the reservations issue. He said while the CPM is fighting to pressure the Centre for BC reservations, its leaders are being illegally arrested and detained across the state. He urged the Congress to wage uncompromising struggles against the Centre, uniting all parties for the cause. He reaffirmed that the fight for BC reservations would never be compromised. Other Leaders' Statements All-Party Committee President Nagar Doddi Venkataramulu and senior advocate Madhusudhan Babu also addressed the gathering, urging the Centre to abandon its stubborn stance and immediately pass the law for 42% BC reservations. They accused the Central Government of conspiring to weaken the limited support extended to the poor and marginalized through reservations, and called on people to oppose such moves unanimously. They also criticized the BJP for ignoring the nationwide demand for a caste census and adopting a delaying attitude, insisting that the party must be taught a lesson through public struggles. They expressed full support for the CPM's ongoing agitation in this regard.
