UP: Passing Out Parade of 197 Agniveers held at 39 Gorkha Training Centre in Varanasi
Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh) [India], June 3 (ANI): The Passing Out Parade (POP) of 197 Agniveers was held at the 39 Gorkha Training Centre in Varanasi on Tuesday.
Anir Van Datta, Commandant of the 39 Gorkha Training Centre, said the batch underwent 31 weeks of training, starting from October 26, 2024. The training included both basic and advanced military preparation and covered modern technology and weapon systems.
'This batch was given 31 weeks of training from 26 October 2024. The first 10 weeks are basic military training, and the remaining 21 weeks are advanced training... They are now ready to go to their posts... I am confident that wherever they go, they will perform their duty with determination and earn glory... They have been taught about modern technology and military weapons... They will learn more at their posts...' Datta said, speaking to the media.
Earlier on May 31, the Passing Out Parade (POP) of Spring Term 2025 was conducted at the Indian Naval Academy in Ezhimala, as per a statement from the Ministry of Defence.
186 trainees, comprising Midshipmen of the 107th and 108th Indian Naval Academy Course, and the 38th Naval Orientation Courses (NOC) (Extended), and cadets of 39th NOC (Extended), 40th NOC (Regular) and 41st NOC (Coast Guard), graduated with flying colours, marking the culmination of their ab-initio training. The passing out trainees included cadets from four friendly foreign countries.
Vice Admiral V Srinivas, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command, reviewed the parade. The event was attended by VAdm CR Praveen Nair, Commandant, INA, other senior officers and distinguished guests.
The President's Gold Medal for standing first in the Indian Naval Academy B Tech Course was awarded to Midshipman Nakul Saxena. Rajya Raksha Mantri Trophy for the Most Promising Cadet was awarded to Midshipman Kiondo Michael Florence, a trainee from Tanzania. This significant achievement by a foreign cadet stands testament to the inclusive and world-class training environment at the Indian Naval Academy.
Midshipman Nithin S Nair was awarded the FOC-in-C (South) Trophy for standing first in the order of merit among ex NDA trainees while the CNS Gold Medal for best in Naval Orientation Course (Extended) and for the Naval Orientation Course (Regular) were awarded to Cadet Pawar Rohit Prakash and Cadet Rajnish Singh respectively. The Director General Coast Guard trophy was awarded to Cadet Kommu David.
On this occasion, the Commandant's Champion Squadron Banner was awarded to Cheetah Squadron for displaying excellence across a wide spectrum of training activities, including academic, service subjects, outdoor training, drill, sports, and extracurricular activities throughout the term. (ANI)

The event was reviewed by Brigadier Ajay Singh Thakur, Commandant, Madras Engineer Group and Centre, who commended the Agniveers on their outstanding display of drill and professionalism. Addressing the parade, he lauded the young soldiers for their dedication and readiness to serve the nation with honour and pride. A highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of the 'Gaurav Padak' to the proud parents of the Agniveers. In a moving gesture, parents were invited to adorn their sons with the rank insignia of 'Thambi Sapper', marking a deeply emotional moment of transformation from trainee to soldier. To ensure a memorable experience for the families, the Centre made elaborate arrangements for their reception, stay, and transportation. The event concluded with the veterans, senior officers and guests engaging with the families, sharing in their joy and pride on this momentous occasion. 659 Agniveers graduate out of MLIRC in Belagavi
As many as 659 Agniveers passed out of the Maratha Light Infantry Regimental Centre (MLIRC) in Belagavi on Thursday. The fifth batch of Agniveer under the Agnipath scheme witnessed the culmination of training. A ceremonial attestation parade with full military traditions was organised at MLIRC. As many as 659 Agniveers were attested after their successful completion of 31 weeks of training. The attestation parade of the Agniveers was reviewed by Commandant of MLIRC Brigadier Joydip Mukherjee who applauded the Agniveers for their immaculate turnout and very high standards of drill. The parade was commanded by Agniveer Gajanan Rathod, while Lt. Col. Digvijay Singh was the parade adjutant. The Agniveers took the Oath of Affirmation in presence of the national flag, the regimental flag and holy religious books in an impressive ceremony witnessed by parents of the Agniveers, serving and retired fraternity of the regiment, dignitaries of Belagavi, cadets of NCC and the young students of various schools. The pride with which the Agniveers took oath made the ceremony even more impressive. Addressing the newly attested Agniveers, the reviewing officer reminded them of the rich heritage and the glory of MLIRC as one of the oldest Infantry regiments of the Indian Army. He also stressed upon the importance of discipline and physical fitness in a soldier's life. He exuded the confidence in the training given at the Regimental Centre and said that it will stand the young soldiers in good stead before wishing them the very best in their future assignments. The reviewing officer also awarded medals to meritorious Agniveers for excelling in different spheres of training. Naik Yashwant Ghadge Victoria Cross Medal for overall Best Agniveer was awarded to Agniveer Kaple Krishnat. The attestation parade concluded with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the Sharqat War Memorial to pay respects to the bravehearts of the regiment by the reviewing officer and the Agniveers. The proud parents of the Agniveers were also felicitated with Gaurav Padak to honor them for motivating their wards to serve the nation, according to a release.

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir), June 5 (ANI): The Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAK LI) Regiment Centre in Srinagar held the Passing Out Parade (POP) of its fifth batch of Agniveers on Thursday, marking the induction of 326 recruits into the Indian Army. The newly inducted Agniveers completed 31 weeks of physical, mental, and tactical training before marching in unison during the attestation ceremony. Senior Army officers, instructors, and recruits' family members attended the event. The Reviewing Officer, a senior Army official, congratulated the newly inducted soldiers and encouraged them to uphold the rich legacy of the JAK LI Regiment with unwavering commitment and courage. One Agniveer said, 'I am feeling very good. It was hard work for 31 weeks. It was great to see my parents after a period of 7 months.' Another Agniveer added, 'It feels good to pass out, as I worked very hard for the recruitment. I'm going home after seven months. More youth should join the army.' 'I feel proud of myself for passing out, especially since the training was very hard. We will protect the country, and I am ready to be posted anywhere in the country,' said another Agniveer. A parent present at the ceremony said, 'I am very pleased today. The recruits who were selected for the army completed their training, and today was their passing parade. It's a moment of happiness. Besides this, I want to tell the youth of today that they should not sit at home after completing their studies because it's a competitive era. As Eid is coming up, we will have two celebrations.' Another parent from Kupwara expressed his happiness over the POP, He says, 'We are very happy if my boy is passing out in this POP parade. So that's why we're here to watch the parade. We are very happy to be here in the parade. There is unemployment.' (ANI)
