Angel Reese ignites NBA draft buzz by calling Derik Queen 'Baby Jokic' in bold comparison
Images via Getty Images In a world where basketball nicknames carry weight, being dubbed 'Baby Jokic' is no small compliment. That label now belongs to Derik Queen, the Maryland standout whose passing skills and court feel have drawn early comparisons to Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic. But what makes this nickname even more intriguing is who gave it to him—Angel Reese, the WNBA's rising star and former Maryland and LSU sensation. Their connection, while not by blood, runs deep through the shared hardwood of College Park. Angel Reese 's 'Baby Jokic' nickname throws Derik Queen into the NBA draft spotlight While some fans have wondered if Derik Queen and Angel Reese are related, they're not, however, their bond was born through Maryland basketball. Reese, now a forward for the Chicago Sky , remains a proud alum of the Terrapins program—and for good reason. Her younger brother, Julian Reese , was Queen's teammate during Maryland's latest NCAA campaign. It was during that season that Queen began making noise, especially after a highlight-worthy buzzer-beater in the NCAA Tournament. That play, and others like it, earned praise from Reese, who dubbed him 'Baby Jokic' for his skill set and poise on the court. She commented earlier this year during an interview in Chicago, saying Queen's playmaking 'reminded her of Jokic ' and that he 'sees the game two steps ahead.' But as promising as the nickname is, Queen's leap to the NBA isn't without questions. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Dễ dàng lắp đặt gạch lát sàn cao su – Làm mới ngôi nhà của bạn một cách dễ dàng! If Queen can develop a consistent range, he could carve out a unique role in the league. Without it, scouts believe he may still thrive as a player similar to Houston Rockets center Alperen Sengun —a solid big with high IQ, but with limitations in today's pace-and-space game. As Derik Queen steps into the next chapter of his basketball journey, his roots at Maryland and the confidence of someone like Angel Reese offer a strong foundation. If he delivers, 'Baby Jokic' could become more than a nickname—it might be a preview. Game On Season 1 continues with Mirabai Chanu's inspiring story. Watch Episode 2 here.

First six minutes of Vijay Antony's upcoming investigative thriller 'Maargan' released!
The makers of director Leo John Paul 's investigative fantasy thriller 'Maargan', featuring actor Vijay Antony in the lead, on Wednesday released the opening six minutes of the film to audiences ahead of the film's release on June 27. The bold decision comes from the faith the makers have in the content of the film, which they believe will grip audiences and draw them to theatres. Taking to his X timeline, actor Vijay Antony wrote, " #MAARGAN - The first 6 minutes OUT NOW. #maarganfromjune27" and shared the links to the Tamil and Telugu versions of the first six minutes of the film on YouTube. 01:54 South Buzz: Samantha Ruth Prabhu to star opposite Varun Dhawan in 'Citadel' series Indian version; Makers announce the cast of Vijay's 'Thalapathy 67' The film has been hogging the limelight ever since the makers released a trailer that showed Vijay Antony playing a cop called Dhruv from the Mumbai police in the film. Dhruv, who has suffered a personal loss, takes it upon himself to track down a serial killer who seems to be targetting young girls. Worship Khanna: The industry will surely change in the next five years
Be it the length of shows, genres, or people's current favourites, everything is destined to change every year, says actor Worship Khanna. The actor, who has been part of shows such as Kumkum Bhagya , Meri Doli Mere Angana, Ishq Subhan Allah and web series like Hello Jee, Cold Lassi and Chicken Masala and currently seen in the show Pati Brahmachari, adds that such changes need to be accepted well, and projects need to be planned accordingly. 'The industry will surely change in the next five years, because the industry we had five years ago is not the same as today, and what we see today won't remain the same tomorrow. For example, during COVID, web series suddenly became very popular, and people started watching content on YouTube and OTT platforms. Now, people have shifted to shorter formats today, people prefer watching vertical videos. People don't have as much time as before. They don't want to watch long daily shows or big films now they want 3-4 minute content on their phones, and they want to skip to the next video quickly. I don't think this is a good thing because with this fast change, cinema's creativity is dying, and the way we tell stories is changing. But I think we have to accept this because life is becoming faster, and technology is advancing so quickly,' he says. Ask him what are the changes he is looking forward to, and he says, 'I believe the real changes are the ones that come naturally with time, like how people moved from daily soaps to web series, and now from web series to vertical content, Instagram shorts, and reels. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với sàn môi giới tin cậy IC Markets Tìm hiểu thêm Undo These are the kinds of changes that happen, and I think they should keep happening. At the end of the day, we call it the entertainment industry. It exists to entertain people. So, whatever entertains the audience, we should keep doing that.' Talking about the changes he would want to make to his work pattern, he says, 'I would like to explore YouTube now, especially vertical content. In fact, I have already started trying my hand at it. Whatever good opportunities come my way in the entertainment industry, I will definitely continue acting because apart from that, honestly, I don't think I have any other major talent. But yes, I might also try dancing if I get the right opportunities. I'm definitely open to exploring more new things.' TV celebs on how to stay cool in scorching summer
