CeeDee Lamb gets tackled by official during Cowboys-Rams game
Dallas Cowboys wideout CeeDee Lamb wasn't dressed for Saturday's preseason matchup vs. the Los Angeles Rams, but that doesn't mean he was out of the action entirely.
In the second quarter, on a deep pass from Cowboys backup Joe Milton to wide receiver Jonathan Mingo, Lamb turned his back on the sideline to celebrate Mingo potentially catching a bomb from the passer.
Instead of Mingo catching the ball, Lamb caught a shoulder from the referee directly to the back, wiping out both in the mashup.
Lamb was flagged on the play for interfering with the referee: The thick white out-of-bounds border is strictly ref territory, so any contact with an official in that area results in a flag.
While there was a foul, there was no harm, however. Lamb and the Cowboys sideline had a good laugh about the ordeal. The Cowboys would also salvage the drive, notching a field goal.
It's preseason for everyone, after all.

Phillies sweep Rangers with Wheeler's strong outing and Sosa's homer
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Zack Wheeler struck out seven and allowed three hits, Edmundo Sosa homered, and the Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Texas Rangers 4-2 on Sunday to sweep the three-game series. Wheeler (10-5) had six or more strikeouts for the 19th straight start this season, with his last outing with less than six coming on April 13 when he had three against St. Louis. Trailing 2-0 early, the Phillies answered in the fourth with an RBI double from Bryce Harper. They tied it in the fifth on Sosa's solo homer, and took the lead for good with Weston Wilson's RBI single two batters later. Brandon Marsh added an insurance run with a sacrifice fly that scored Harrison Bader in the ninth inning, and a strong Phillies bullpen performance was capped off by Jhoan Duran's 20th save of the season to secure the win. Duran, acquired from Minnesota on July 30, has allowed just one baserunner in four appearances for Philadelphia. Joc Pederson hit a first-inning two-run homer to give the Rangers the lead. Patrick Corbin (6-8) threw 4 1/3 innings and allowed four hits and three runs. Key moment After the Phillies went ahead 3-2 in top of the fifth, center fielder Harrison Bader protected that lead in the bottom of the inning with a leaping catch to take a home run away from Corey Seager. Bader was reaching above the 6-foot wall in front of the Texas bullpen in right-center when he made the play. Key stat The Phillies are now 49-2 when leading after six innings, and 57-2 when leading after seven, both MLB-best marks. Up next The Phillies continue their 10-game road trip in Cincinnati on Monday, where RHP Taijuan Walker (4-5, 3.53 ERA) starts opposite Reds LHP Andrew Abbott (8-2, 2.34). The Rangers have one more series against the Diamondbacks in their homestand, with Texas RHP Nathan Eovaldi (10-3, 1.38) facing Arizona RHP Ryne Nelson (6-3, 3.20) on Monday. ___ AP MLB: The Associated Press

Christopher Bell: "Frustrated to get our butts kicked" by SVG
In 2025, the two biggest margins of victory belong to Shane van Gisbergen. In Mexico City, he won by 16.567 seconds, and on Sunday, he won at Watkins Glen by 11.116 seconds in another dominant showing. In both races, Christopher Bell was the driver finishing a very distant second as SVG drove off with the checkered flag. 'Happy, yeah. I'm thrilled," said Bell. "We've been struggling a little bit to find a rhythm. I feel like the car has been good, but executing the races has been tough for us. Really awesome to have a good day. Frustrated to get our butts kicked by the 88 car [SVG]. He's doing a really good job. That team has it going on. We need to find a little bit more, but certainly happy. It was a good day for Camry.' Christopher Bell, Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota Van Gisbergen has won four of the five road/street course races this year in the Cup Series. The only event he failed to win was Circuit of the Americas back in March. That day, it was Bell in the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota who emerged victorious. At Watkins Glen, Buescher finished third, losing the runner-up spot in the closing moments of the race. But still, it was a huge points day for him as he increased the buffer between himself and the playoff cut-line to 34 points.
