Hamas issues statement on progress of Gaza ceasefire talks
In the statement, Hamas said the group's leadership is working around the clock with mediators, states, and all concerned parties to stop the famine and bring an end to the ongoing 'Israeli' assault on Gaza.
It emphasized that alleviating the suffering of the population is a top priority for the movement.
Hamas also accused the Israeli Occupation of using massacres as a form of pressure to extract political concessions, calling it a desperate attempt to achieve what 'Israel' has failed to gain at the negotiation table.
The group stressed that it remains committed to acting responsibly and rationally, and that it is working 'as quickly as possible' to conclude consultations with Palestinian factions.
The goal, according to the statement, is to reach an honorable agreement that ends the aggression, halts the genocide, facilitates reconstruction, lifts the blockade, and ensures a dignified life for the people of Gaza.

"It's morally unacceptable and unjustified," he added. Pizzaballa said the Church and "the entire Christian community, will never abandon" Gazans, repeating what he had told Christians in Gaza during his visit. He specified that his mission applied not only to a specific group but to all. Pizzaballa and his Greek Orthodox counterpart, Theophilos III, made a rare visit to Gaza on Friday after 'Israeli' fire hit the Holy Family Church, Gaza's only Catholic church, killing three people. "Three people died of our community, but thousands of people already died in Gaza," Pizzaballa said, adding that the entire Palestinian people was affected in Gaza by the ongoing war, as well as in the West Bank which he recently visited to denounce Israeli settler violence. Though the Italian foreign ministry announced Pizzaballa had entered Gaza with 500 tonnes of aid, Pizzaballa said the aid had not yet entered Gaza due to logistical issues. Pizzaballa and Theophilos III reported meeting people in Gaza whose faces were emaciated from hunger, at a time when finding food in the Palestinian territory has become nearly impossible. Pizzaballa, who has previously advocated for an end to the war in Gaza, said that he had witnessed unprecedented levels of destruction in comparison to his last visit in December.

Roya's correspondent in Gaza, Ghazi Al-Aloul, said that the entire team is suffering from the direct effects of famine. He reported: "Famine has spread across the entire Strip and reached us after our supplies of flour, canned goods, and vegetables ran out. Since the war resumed, we haven't had access to meat or poultry. Our daily meal, if available, now consists of lentils only, and sometimes nothing for days." "To prevent intestinal decay, we have resorted to drinking only saltwater," he added. Aloul continued: "Over the past month, I've lost 20 kilograms, and my colleague, cameraman Mohammed Daher, has lost a similar amount. We are forced to walk more than 12 kilometers each day to and from our workplace, with no transportation available. This has accelerated the deterioration of our physical and mental health." We call on the United Nations, global journalism organizations, and human rights and humanitarian institutions to urgently intervene to protect journalists and ensure the immediate entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza; including food, medicine, and basic life necessities. Starving journalists and forcing them to work under inhumane conditions is a dual violation of human rights and press freedom, and must not be met with silence or indifference from the international community. Despite immense risks and daily suffering, Roya's team continues to fulfill its humanitarian and professional duty to report the truth from the heart of the catastrophe.
