As Sean Combs Faces Trial, ‘The Fall Of Diddy' Uncovers Alleged Shocking Pattern Of Abuse – Contenders TV: Documentary, Unscripted & Variety
It's been a stunning descent for Combs, who became a billionaire after building a business empire that encompassed a record label and media properties, a clothing line, restaurants and liquor brands. The four-part Investigation Discovery series The Fall of Diddy looks into the making and unmaking of the producer-performer-entrepreneur, revealing a history of alleged abusive and destructive behavior by Combs that dates to the late 1980s.

'The Traitors' EP On What Makes Format Dynamic & The Possibility Of A Non-Celebrity Season - Contenders TV: Documentary, Unscripted & Variety
'It shows the pattern that we've seen all through the years,' said director and executive producer Yoruba Richen, who took part in a panel discussion for Deadline's Contenders Television: Documentary, Unscripted & Variety event.
Richen and her fellow director/executive producer Emma Schwartz interviewed more than two dozen people for the series including journalists, investigative reporters, a Combs childhood friend and others who crossed paths with him over the decades. The former editor-in-chief of Vibe magazine recounts an alleged incident in which Combs threatened to kill her after he became enraged over a magazine cover shoot. Combs' former driver, Wardel Fenderson, says his boss offered him a bribe to lie about the circumstances of a shooting at a nightclub in 1999 in which Combs was arrested on weapons charges. More damningly, music producer Rodney 'Lil Rod' Jones accuses Combs of assaulting and drugging him on multiple occasions in 2023 while they were collaborating on an album. And in Episode 4 of the series, Kat Pasion, a former Combs girlfriend, accuses the entertainment mogul of forcing her to engage in a nonconsensual sex act.
RELATED:
'She alleges that she was raped by him, in effect,' Schwartz commented. 'It sort of raises a lot of questions about … how long has this alleged behavior gone on for — both in the past and up to the present? Certainly, federal prosecutors allege that this kind of behavior has continued until really very, very recently.'
Perhaps the single most disturbing sequence in The Fall of Diddy is surveillance camera video from 2016 that shows Combs assaulting his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in a California hotel.
RELATED:
'It's some of the most shocking, upsetting footage I've ever seen,' commented Richen. 'We have a moment in the series where people react to that, and it was really powerful. And seeing someone, another human being, treated that way is just incredible.'
Combs released an apology video after that footage was broadcast last year. But as to the charges and lawsuits he now faces, his legal team insists he will be vindicated. 'Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted or sex trafficked anyone — man or woman, adult or minor,' his legal reps told People magazine. 'Fortunately, a fair and impartial judicial process exists to find the truth, and Mr. Combs is confident he will prevail in court.'
RELATED:
Combs' trial is set to begin May 5. The Fall of Diddy gives followers of the case and of Combs' career some important context, notes Schwartz.
'Our documentary [is] not the trial of Sean Combs,' Schwartz said. 'It's looking at his history and how we got to this point. So some of it is understanding the potent impact he's had on culture. Some of it is understanding other moments in his history and behavior that we can learn from that are not necessarily subject to what we're all going to be watching [in court] in the coming months. But hopefully it gives you a grounding in who he is and how we've gotten to this point.'

'Reacher' Season 4's Streaming Status is Safe. For Now
While there's not yet a release for Reacher Season 4, one of the major corporations behind the show, Paramount, has undergone a major shakeup. Following a merger between Skydance Media and Paramount, certain aspects of how shows produced by Paramount will be streamed might change. But it seems Reacher will stay the same, at least for now. Although Reacher is distributed by and co-produced on Amazon Prime Video, the show is also produced by Paramount Television Studios. And now that Paramount has merged with Skydance, some behind-the-scenes stuff will change. But, according to Deadline, that shouldn't impact the viewer experience in the short Reacher still stream on Amazon Prime Video? As of this writing, the Paramount and Skydance merger will not impact the streaming distribution of Reacher Season 4. As pointed out by Screenrant: "It seemed apparent that, given its success, the merger wouldn't negatively impact the series' fate. However, it does mean CBS Studios will no longer be in charge, the baton passing to PTVS as the franchise continues. But this doesn't negatively impact the show." In the first half of 2025, Reacher easily made it into the top 10 most-streamed shows, according to several metrics, including the Nielsen ratings. Overall, Reacher is one of the biggest hits for Prime Video, meaning a switch to another streamer, like Paramount+, seems Season 4 and Neagley release dates Reacher Season 4 began production in June 2025. Meanwhile, the Reacher spinoff show, Neagley, finished filming on June 7, 2025. Both Reacher Season 4 and Neagley Season 1 will likely be released in 2026, though it's possible Neagley could debut later this year. 'Reacher' Season 4's Streaming Status is Safe. Ryan Paevey is returning to 'General Hospital 'after 7 years
The actor explained that the idea of returning to the series was kickstarted by receiving a text from "General Hospital" executive producer Frank Valentini. More than seven years after his departure, Ryan Paevey is returning to General Hospital. The actor, who starred as Detective Nathan West from 2013 until 2018, is set to appear in new episodes of the hit ABC sudser starting this September, Entertainment Weekly has learned. Deadline was the first to report the news. EW has reached out to representatives for General Hospital and Paevey for comment. It is currently unclear what role Paevey will play in his grand return to the series, given that Nathan was killed at the end of his five-year run. (Not that death has ever stopped anyone from returning to General Hospital before.) Speaking to Deadline, Paevey explained that he began to explore the idea of potentially returning to the series after receiving an unexpected text from executive producer Frank Valentini. 'We talked a bit and he asked would I consider returning for awhile, talking story, floated different story ideas involving different time commitments of me, and I thought, 'if we're going to do this we should really do it and surprise the fans with a meaty storyline,'' Paevey told the outlet. 'I was surprised by my excitement for a homecoming and reuniting with familiar faces after seven years. I still have my last call sheet from my final taping day on January 18, 2018, tacked up in my home office.' The announcement comes just four days after Paevey teased on Instagram that he had 'some news to share' with fans after attending a fan event in Georgia. 'I've got some irons in the fire,' he said at the time. 'I've got all kinds of fun stuff coming up. So stick around and, yeah, I hope to see you guys at another. And I'll share some news with you as soon as I can.' Paevey previously announced that he would be taking a step back from acting in 2024 in order to protect his mental health and to be closer to his mother after she was diagnosed with breast cancer. 'The industry hasn't felt like the place for me in quite some time now, and my mental health has suffered from it,' he said in a statement to Heavy. 'It's taken me to a bit of a dark place, made me into a version of myself I don't like very much.' He added, 'I've had bank accounts hacked, money embezzled, investments stolen….things that, while difficult, can be recovered from. But after all that, my mother was diagnosed with lung cancer. I left Los Angeles to be closer to her, and feel the need to devote more of my time, energy, and resources closer to home.' Read the original article on Entertainment Weekly

Kevin Federline Is a 'Professional Father,' According to Sam Asghari
Though Britney Spears and Sam Asghari finalized their divorce last December, The Traitors star is still coming to his ex's defense. Sam had a few words to say about Britney's other ex, Kevin Federline, and his parenting style, during a recent interview with TMZ. His comment comes after the former pro dancer announced his upcoming memoir, You Thought You Knew, which covers 'fame, fatherhood and the private cost of public life—from one of pop culture's most misunderstood figures.' 'He was a professional father,' Sam said about K-Fed, who welcomed two sons, Sean and Jayden, with Britney in 2005 and 2006. 'So, it would be the first book that would tell you how to be a professional father.' 'This book is extremely intimate and transparent,'Kevin wrote in a press release, per TMZ. 'I achieved my biggest dreams, dealt with crushing heartbreak, and endured constant ridicule, all while becoming the father my children needed as they experienced nonstop emotional turbulence.' Aside from his children with the 'Baby... One More Time' hitmaker, Kevin shares two grown children, Kori and Kaleb, with his ex-fiancée, Shar Jackson, and two younger kids, Jordan and Peyton, with his current wife, Victoria Prince. In May 2023, Kevin's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, told People that Britney had 'consented' to their sons, Sean and Jayden, moving to Hawaii to be with their dad. 'It's an opportunity for Kevin and his wife, and the boys are ready to get away from the L.A. microscope,' K-Fed's lawyer said at the time. A few years later, Britney shared that she had reunited with her youngest, Jayden, to celebrate New Year's Eve in a sweet Instagram post. 'I hadn't seen him in 2 and half years or maybe 3 !!!' Britney wrote in the caption of her post, which featured photos of Jayden posing outdoors. She continued, praising her son for his piano skills that she would later mention in another social media post that has since been deleted. 'I'm in shock !!! He came back and he feels older and smarter than me !!! He's a man and I cry everyday of my life because of the miracle and genius he is !!! When he plays the whole earth shakes !!!' Kevin's tell-all, You Thought You Knew, comes nearly two years after Britney's memoir, The Woman In Me, was published. It's set to release on October 21.
