Will follow high command line on Operation Kagar: Telangana CM
HYDERABAD: Making it clear that his government will announce its stand on Operation Kagar once the party high command takes a decision, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday opined that there should be a nationwide discussion on the issue.
It may be recalled that the Peace Dialogue Committee met the chief minister and requested him to take the initiative for holding peace talks between the
Following that, the chief minister met government adviser K Keshava Rao and former minister K Jana Reddy and discussed the committee's demand for peace talks with Maoists.
In an informal conversation with reporters later, Revanth responded to the BRS's public meeting on Sunday by saying: 'KCR (former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao) is feeling insecure. Neither is there any clarity nor anything new in his speech. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and KCR will speak as per their political needs.'
He added that people speak about administration only six months before elections. 'I am receiving demands to arrest BRS leaders. However, I will act as per the law,' the chief minister asserted.
Admitting that the Congress government has been lagging in implementing some works, he stated there was a need to expedite implementation of schemes. Revanth stated that they have streamlined the administration and are continuing with some officials in key posts due to lack of options.
'We are lagging behind in publicising the work done in the last 15 months,' Revanth added.
'No gap between me and Rahul'
'It is not good for some MLAs to sit in Hyderabad and pass the time. They should go to the people and publicise the schemes being implemented by our government,' Revanth said.
He stressed that leaders should be patient for posts and positions or else they will lose opportunities. 'There is a good relationship between me and Rahul Gandhi. It is not true that there is a gap between us,' he stressed, in response to a query.

Bawankule meets protesting Bachchu Kadu, Cong backs his stir
Nagpur/Amravati: Guardian minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Friday met ex-MLA Bachchu Kadu at Amravati and urged him to end his indefinite fast, which has continued for six days now. On Friday, the Congress also threw its weight behind Kadu's ongoing agitation for farmers, just a day after NCP (Sharad) MLA Rohit Pawar drove down to the Amravati protest site where Kadu is on indefinite fast. Earlier this week, Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange, and ex-minister Anil Deshmukh too met Kadu. Bawankule's visit to Kadu is seen as an important development as the monsoon session of the legislature is scheduled from June 30. Congress state president Harshwardhan Sapkal said, "Congress has decided to back Kadu's ongoing agitation, which addresses various farmers' issues. The concerns raised by Kadu are real. Farmers are facing a severe crisis, with no fair prices for their produce, a high rate of farmer suicides in the state, and unfulfilled election promises of loan waivers by the ruling government. As a result, farmers, already in distress, are completely hopeless and disheartened. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like מהפכת החשמל מגיעה אליכם: עד 20% הנחה בחשבון החשמל החודשי Hot Energy מידע נוסף Undo In such a situation, there is a need for everyone to stand in solidarity with the farmers." Earlier on Friday, high drama unfolded at the protest site, when a member of Kadu's Prahar Janshakti Party consumed poison, and was rushed to the hospital by the medical team present on site. The activist, identified as Ajay Bhagwatrao Chaudhary, has been admitted to a private hospital at Warud. Chaudhary, like many other Prahar activists, had turned restless on Friday citing 'government's apathy' towards Kadu's Annatyag Andolan, now into its sixth day, at Gurukunj Mozari (about 30km from Amravati city). Kadu's agitation raises issues related to farmers, divyangs, widows, fishermen etc. Before Bawankule's visit too the govt has tried to persuade Kadu to withdraw the agitation. Ministers Bharat Gogawale, Pankaja Munde and Jaykumar Gore held online meetings with Kadu, who expressed his resolve to continue the agitation as no concrete assurance reportedly came out of these meetings. As the monsoon session of the legislature is set to begin later this month, NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar has already hinted that Kadu's agitation will be an issue discussed there. Now with Congress backing Kadu, the opposition seems to have found a cause to take up on the floor of the house. Follow more information on Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad here . 570 new govt schools to be set up in Telangana, says chief minister Revanth Reddy
Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Thursday announced that 570 new govt schools will be established across Telangana—both in rural and urban areas—where no such facility currently exists. Each school will be set up in locations with a minimum enrolment potential of 20 students, he said. Chairing a high-level review meeting with education department officials at the command control centre, the chief minister noted a significant rise in demand for residential educational institutions. This surge, he said, is driven by the govt's provision of free quality food, uniforms, textbooks, and a conducive learning environment. He directed officials to study the feasibility of extending similar benefits to day scholars in regular govt schools, to bridge the gap in infrastructure and quality. "The govt's core objective is to raise educational standards across all public schools and colleges. Every initiative must align with our commitment to delivering quality education," Revanth stressed. He instructed officials to rationalise enrolment across institutions run by the SC, ST, BC, and minority welfare departments, ensuring each school maintains an optimal number of students. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo Revanth also emphasised the need to counsel students on the importance of family, society, and civic responsibility. "Not a single child should be left behind. We must ensure universal enrolment," he said, urging officials to intensify their outreach efforts. He further underlined the need to enhance teaching standards and introduce reforms that incorporate skill development alongside academic learning, particularly in language proficiency and communication skills. "Skill training should begin at the high school level itself, giving students the tools to succeed in their chosen fields," he said. With Telangana undergoing rapid urbanisation, the chief minister instructed education and municipal administration departments to identify suitable land in HMDA and municipal layouts designated for social infrastructure to establish new schools in growing urban pockets. Holding the education portfolio himself, CM Revanth reiterated that education and health remain top priorities of the Congress govt. No foreign military leader invited to the June 14 parade: White House
The White House has categorically denied reports that any foreign military leader, including Pakistan's Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir, has been invited to the upcoming U.S. Army parade in Washington, marking the 250th anniversary of the American armed forces. 'This is false. No foreign military leaders were invited,' a White House official said, refuting multiple media reports from South Asia. The reports claimed that Mr. Munir would be a guest of honour at the June 14 celebration, which is also U.S. President Donald Trump's 79th birthday. Derek Grossman, a senior defence analyst at RAND Corporation, criticised the rumoured invitation, calling it a 'diplomatic setback' for India. 'For India, the Trump admin's invitation to Pakistani Field Marshal Asim Munir is tantamount to inviting an avowed anti-India terrorist,' he said in post on X. Congress responds India's Opposition Congress Party described it as a diplomatic setback for the Modi Government. 'Failed Marshal Asim Munir, who gave such inflammatory, incendiary and provocative statements, talked about the two-nation theory, Hindus and Muslims, and there is a direct relation between his statement and what happened in Pahalgam on April 22. Same Asim Munir gets a special invitation to go to America on U.S. Army Day on June 14, which is incomprehensible,' the Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said. In anticipation of Mr. Munir's visit, the U.S. chapter of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had announced a protest rally in front of the Pakistani Embassy in Washington on Saturday. 'PTI USA, alongside 12+ Pakistani diaspora organisations, is holding a massive protest in Washington DC to oppose #UndeclaredMartialLawin Pakistan and to stand against tyranny and raise our voice for a free and fair Pakistan,' it said.
