It's common to feel self-conscious about showing any skin as we age. After all, most of us deal with some kind of concern (especially as we get older), whether it's hyperpigmentation, uneven texture or the remnants of our young-adult years spent popping pimples and lounging in the sun. We know better now, and to help erase the visible signs of aging and external damage caused by simply living life, we've found a simple solution that has left shoppers "flabbergasted": the top-selling Valitic Kojic Acid Dark Spot Remover Soap, which helps brighten and even skin while fading discoloration.
Dark spot removal treatments at the dermatologist can be expensive, and brand-name dark spot serums can also cost a hefty chunk of change. Comparatively, two bars of this soap will set you back only $12 right now (a solid 20% off) and last you for months.
If you struggle with dark spots, hyperpigmentation or the remnants of scars, stretch marks or acne, it can seem impossible to fade these signs of aging and exposure to the elements. But what if we told you that just taking a shower can make a huge difference? Using Valitic Kojic Acid Soap as your daily body wash can help visibly reduce the appearance of age spots, fine lines and discoloration within just 30 days, the brand says.
The key to the soap's efficacy is in its five major ingredients: kojic acid, vitamin C, retinol, collagen and turmeric. Kojic acid, the star of the show, has been shown to help fade hyperpigmentation from sun damage, acne and other factors when applied topically; vitamin C, retinol and collagen help hydrate from within, working to eliminate dark spots for smoother, more glowing skin. Turmeric, an ingredient that reviewers say helps contribute to the soap's "refreshing and uplifting" scent, is one of the most important components here, as it's thought to reverse discoloration when used consistently.
The soap also includes hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, shea butter and castile oil to penetrate deep into the skin and revitalize it from the inside out. All of this goodness in one little bar of soap? Count us in!
Over 23,000 Amazon shoppers have awarded Valitic Kojic Acid Soap a squeaky-clean five-star rating. It's no wonder that more than 80,000 bars have been bought in the last month alone.
"My niece has beautiful skin, so I decided to ask her what she used. She recommended this soap for both my face and body, as I have some uneven pigmentation on my elbows. I've been using it for about a month now and I can already see a difference in my complexion and my elbows. I will definitely be purchasing more of this soap! Well worth the price," raved one shopper.
Another reviewer exclaimed: "My face is bright and dark spots from sun damage are almost gone! I no longer wear foundation or even a powder! My skin has never looked better and I am 59! My chest had some sun damage and it is disappearing before my eyes. I have been using it for months and every time I shower/wash my face it seems even better than before."
"I'm flabbergasted," marveled a final fan. "I used this for the first time today after the gym. It literally arrived this morning and this is the first time I used it. You can actually tell the difference. I wish I took a before and after photo because I genuinely am shocked. Nothing ever works this fast ever for me, but, like, wow. I'm definitely ordering more and stockpiling it. Major game changer."
Some users caution that the kojic acid can be drying. "If you have sensitive skin, using it two times a day would not be the best option, and I would also avoid letting it sit on your face for too long (maybe use only at night and massage it in your face for no more than a minute)," said this buyer. "This product does dry your skin out, so I really recommend you have a good moisturizer."
"I swear this stuff worked after like three washes. I literally cannot believe it," wrote another shopper. "It smells really clean too, which I love. It's a teensy bit drying so moisturize a lot afterwards. But give it a go. I will buy this again and again."
The reviews quoted above reflect the most recent versions at the time of publication.

Is There Really an Oil or Herb for Penis Enlargement?

No oils on the market are proven to enlarge the penis. But some may help enhance sexual function, such as libido and erection hardness. Speak with a doctor before applying any oils to your penis. Penis enlargement oils are over-the-counter (OTC) herbal oils that are marketed for increasing the size, length, or girth of your penis. These are usually applied topically, but are sometimes administered by injection. Very limited research has examined the effects of penis enlargement oils. In fact, they're much more likely to result in unwanted side effects or injury. However, penis enlargement may be possible through other measures, including nonsurgical and surgical options. Read on to learn which oils you should avoid, which oils could improve your sexual function in other ways, and more. What ingredients should I watch out for? Dietary and herbal supplements aren't regulated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This means manufacturers are largely free to say whatever they want about their ingredients and supposed benefits. In 2021, the FDA released a statement noting that some penile enhancement and weight loss products may contain dangerous ingredients. These products included those sold in stores and online from places like eBay, Amazon, and Walmart. Some 'natural male enhancement' or penile enlargement products contain hidden ingredients. These ingredients are not included on the product packaging, but they could cause unpleasant side effects or serious complications. According to the FDA, some of these ingredients may include: sildenafil tadalafil vardenafil fluoxetine sibutramine desmethylsibutramine phenolphthalein A 2021 study also reported that sildenafil was found in six male enhancement products that claimed to be 100% natural, and they didn't have this ingredient listed on their labels. Sildenafil causes temporary penile enlargement by producing blood vessel dilation. Some other compounds and ingredients are commonly purported to help manage erectile dysfunction (ED), so they might temporarily increase penis size by promoting blood flow to the penis. These ingredients may include: Eurycoma longifolia Panax ginseng L-arginine Corynanthe yohimbe Tribulus terrestris Pinus pinaster However, no research supports the claims that these ingredients may help increase the size of your penis. Some research found that people injected olive oil, cod liver oil, and other mineral oils into their penis due to anecdotal evidence claiming that these oils can increase penis size. But these injections led to side effects and more serious complications like severe pain, scarring, and ulcerations. As such, it's important to speak with a pharmacist or a healthcare professional before trying any topical or injection oils for penis enlargement. Can essential oils help improve sexual function? Some ingredients may help improve several aspects of your sexual function. These may include increasing erection hardness and libido (sex drive), improving sperm count, and managing ED. They may also work by enhancing your sense of relaxation, well-being, and confidence, which are associated with improved sexual experiences. If you're open to other benefits, consider looking for an oil or supplement containing: Most of the studies examining the effects of essential oils on sexual function are done in animals like rats and mice. Therefore, the effects on humans may be inconclusive, so more research is needed. Remember, these may positively affect your overall sexual health, but they will not boost your penis size. There are also several ways to use essential oils, including inhalation, diffusers, and more. If you apply essential oil to your skin, you'll need to mix it with a carrier oil first. Never ingest essential oils. Speak with a healthcare professional before trying any oils or supplements marketed for penile enlargement and other purported benefits. »Learn more: Vitamins and supplements for ED What should I do if I decide to use oil? Always talk with a doctor before using any oils or other supplements. Oil ingredients can interact with medications, have uncomfortable side effects, or increase your risk of certain conditions. If you find an oil that is intended for use on the penis and a doctor clears you to use it, do a skin patch test. To do this: Rub a small amount of oil into your forearm. Cover the area with a bandage. Wait 24 hours and check for irritation. If you don't experience any skin discoloration, swelling, or other irritation, it should be safe to apply elsewhere on the body. That said, the skin on your penis is much thinner and more sensitive than that on other body parts. So it's more prone to irritation and side effects. Follow the oil's application instructions closely. Only apply as much as the label advises, and keep the substance away from your urinary opening. Most importantly, don't introduce oils into your sex life without asking the other person for consent first. The oil can expose them to potential allergies and side effects, too. If possible, have them do a patch test before you decide to do a full application. If you begin experiencing any unusual symptoms, discontinue use and seek medical attention. Are there any possible side effects or risks? Essential oils for penis enlargement aren't regulated, so you never really know what ingredients they contain and in what quantities. Not all supplements are unsafe, but they can be uncomfortable and even cause permanent complications. The topical application of essential oils may cause mild symptoms of contact dermatitis, a condition that occurs when the skin comes into contact with an irritant. Some side effects may include: skin irritation skin discoloration rash, bumps, or hives fluid-filled blisters that may crack and ooze liquid itching or burning at the application site infections in broken skin from scratching, which can also make you more susceptible to sexually transmitted infections (STIs) These effects may go away a few hours or days after you stop using oils. If left untreated, these symptoms can lead to permanent scarring or damage to your penis. Mineral oil injections may lead to more severe side effects and complications. According to a 2017 review, these may include: pain swelling hard, thick masses of tissue scarring pus and other discharge ulcers necrosis (death of skin cells and tissue) In rare cases, topical and injection essential oils may lead to anaphylaxis, a life threatening allergic reaction. You should seek emergency medical attention if you have difficulty breathing, severe pain, or severe swelling. A sexual partner who is allergic to any of the oil's ingredients can also experience these side effects. Side effects can become even more painful or life threatening if the oil gets directly into the vagina, anus, or mouth. Several options are available to possibly help increase the size of your penis. But it's important to note that the only way to permanently increase penis size is with surgery. According to a 2023 review, some options for penile enlargement may include: Penis traction devices: These devices, known as penile stretchers, may help stretch or pull on the penis to reshape it. It may increase penile length by up to 2 centimeters. Penile pumps: These vacuum (penis) pumps are available without a prescription. They're typically used with cock rings to help people with ED maintain an erection. When used regularly, they may help increase the length and girth of your penis. Penis exercises: Some penile stretches and exercises may help increase the size of the penis, though more research is needed to understand which specific ones work. Penis injections: Injections of fat, hyaluronic acid, or polymethylmethacrolate microspheres (PMMA) may help increase penis size, though side effects are likely. Platelet-rich plasma therapy (PRP): PRP is a novel treatment that may help increase the length, girth, and rigidity of the penis, but more research is needed. Penile surgery: Several types of penis enlargement surgery are available, including ligamentolysis, skin graft, and lipoplasty, among others. A doctor can help you better understand the possible benefits, risks, and costs of these penis enlargement options. If you're thinking of penis enlargement therapy or are anxious about the size of your penis, consider speaking with a doctor or licensed therapist. They can help you identify, understand, and manage your feelings to help improve your self-esteem and confidence. The bottom line Oils and supplements for penile enlargement are usually applied topically, directly to the skin. Although several companies and people claim that penis enlargement oils are effective, very limited research supports these purported claims. What's more, several of the ingredients in these products may be harmful and cause side effects like itching, irritation, burning, or ulcers.

Want stronger legs without running? I tried rucking for a week, and it's a game-changer

I've been writing about fitness for the past decade and have seen countless workout trends come and go. Right now, everyone is talking about the benefits of walking, and more specifically, walking with a weighted backpack — also known as rucking. Rucking has roots in military training, and is a full-body workout that'll strengthen your muscles and send your heart rate soaring. Rucking is new to me, but never one to shy away from a challenge, I swapped my daily runs for rucking for a week. Read what happened when I grabbed a weighted backpack and gave this a go. The Novablast 5 are our favorite running shoes overall. They come in a variety of colors, are great for runners or walkers of all levels, and deliver an impressive mix of comfort, responsiveness, and versatility. Rucking is walking with a weighted vest or backpack on your back. Despite the weight, it's a low-impact workout, and you don't need any special equipment to get started. Despite lots of brands selling specialized rucking vests, a regular, comfortable backpack (preferably with padded shoulder straps) loaded with a dumbbell or a couple of books is enough to give rucking a go. If you do want to buy a specific vest, our AI writer Amanda Caswell swears by this $25 vest from Amazon. Compared to your regular walk, you'll burn a lot more calories rucking, as your muscles will be working harder to move. As a form of strength training, over time, rucking will help you build and maintain muscle strength, improve bone density, and build your cardiovascular fitness. As with all new exercise routines, it's always a good idea to check with your doctor before trying it, especially if you're recovering from an injury or pregnancy. Keen to find out more, I tried rucking for seven days. There's no doubt about it — rucking is a full-body workout. The additional weight made my walk more challenging from my first step. On day one, I was perhaps a little overambitious, loading a 7kg (15-pound) dumbbell into my go-to running backpack. I'd read that when it comes to selecting a weight for rucking, you should start with 10-15% of your body weight, so at 119 pounds, this seemed about right. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. By the end of the walk, I found that the weight made my walk a lot harder than expected. I could feel my legs working hard, as was my core and upper body, which were working to keep my torso upright. I'm currently 15 months postpartum, so I'd probably recommend starting lighter and building up, rather than chucking yourself into the rucking-deep-end like I did, as I was aching by the time I removed my backpack. As my toddler is only in nursery three mornings a week, for the rest of this challenge, I strapped him to my back instead. Far wrigglier than a dumbbell, he added to the rucking experience, as unlike a dumbbell, he'd lean his bodyweight to the left or right, depending on what he wanted to see. He also added the extra challenge of having to fish snacks out from my pockets and raise my arms to hand them to him. The good news is, however, focusing on pointing out every school bus and garbage truck made my 30-minute walk pass by faster. My top tip when it comes to trying rucking for the first time? Spend a decent amount of time getting properly set up before you walk. As I mentioned, on day one, the weight was too heavy and I kept stopping to tighten or loosen straps as I went. I walked with a running backpack that had a chest strap, which I found really helped distribute the weight evenly across my back. I also appreciated the padded shoulder straps. When it came to carrying my toddler, I used the Osprey Poco Child Carrier, and spent some time adjusting the back support to ensure the weight wasn't sitting on my hips. This isn't the kind of walk where you want to rush out the door — the right set up is essential if you want to avoid injuries. The Osprey Poco Child carrier comes in black or green (pictured), has zippered pockets to store snacks and other items, comes with a sun shade, and can support itself on the ground. It can accommodate children up to 40 pounds. I don't often have to consider my form as I walk, but the additional weight on my back made me do so. The tendency is to lean your torso forward, especially towards the end of the walk, as your muscles get tired, but this can put additional strain on your lower back. Start with a lighter weight, and think about keeping your shoulders back and your abs braced as you walk. My verdict after a week of rucking? I loved the additional challenge, and this is definitely something I'll keep in my routine. As my toddler gets bigger and I get stronger, the weight will increase, making him my perfect rucking companion. That said, if you don't have an energetic 15-month-old to strap to your back, why not invest in one of the best adjustable dumbbells instead?
