Boston Red Sox Superstar third baseman Alex Bregman has been out since May 23 with a right quad strain.
Bregman was playing better than ever, showing why the Red Sox signed him to a deal in the offseason.

While the expectation is for him to hit the free agency market again and opt out of his contract, this injury could complicate things if he doesn't return to playing the baseball he was before the injury.
In 51 games, Bregman posted a 159 OPS+, 11 home runs, and a .299 batting average.
The Red Sox will need him, and soon, as they haven't played well since he went down.
But according to a recent report from Ian Browne of MLB.com, he's recovering well and is expected to return sometime in early July.

"When Alex Bregman went down, a lot of people compared it to his injury in 2021, when he missed 10 weeks with that left quad injury," Browne said Tuesday. "Fortunately, the right quad seems to be recovering much better. Bregman is already running.

"I've heard from people that he wants to be back in early July. That would really fuel this team. Now that they have Roman Anthony up, you're finally going to see a Red Sox lineup that's going to be a consistent, everyday lineup with people you expected to be in it."
An early July return might be too late for the Red Sox, who sit in fourth place in the American League East and are nine games behind the first-place New York Yankees.
Nine games is a bunch to be behind at this stage in the season, but if the Red Sox can get it below seven at the beginning of July, anything should be possible.

Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski dazzles in debut, exits with cramping
MILWAUKEE — Jacob Misiorowski arrived exactly as advertised in his long-awaited major-league debut Thursday night. The Brewers' flamethrowing to prospect hurled five innings of no-hit ball against the St. Louis Cardinals, walking four and striking out five, but departed the game alongside a trainer in the bottom of the sixth. Advertisement Misiorowski appeared to have rolled his ankle, though his exit was ultimately attributed to right calf and quad cramping. The 23-year-old, who ranked 87th overall in The Athletic's Keith Law's top 100 preseason prospect rankings, rose through the minor-league system thanks to his powerful triple-digit velocity. He can routinely throw pitches over 1oo mph, and has been one of the hardest throwing pitchers in the minor-league circuit since he was drafted in the second round of the 2022 draft. That's what he brought to the show, with the first three pitches of his major-league career tapping out at over 100 mph. The fifth pitch of his career — a 102.2 mile per hour fastball to Lars Nootbaar — was the hardest-thrown pitch by a Brewers starter in the pitch-tracking era, which dates back to 2008. Of his 81 total pitches thrown, 14 were recorded at 100 mph or higher. MUST SEE: Jacob Misiorowski's first three pitches to start his Major League career: 100 MPH 🔥102 MPH 🔥101 MPH 🔥 — MLB (@MLB) June 12, 2025 Misiorowski, who was called up from Triple A Nashville on Tuesday, came out for the bottom of the sixth inning after a lengthy break in which the Brewers scored five runs off Cardinals' starter Sonny Gray. He fell behind 3-0 to Victor Scott II to lead off the inning, and seemingly rolled his right ankle retreating back to the mound. After a brief meeting with manager Pat Murphy, pitching coach Chris Hook and the medical staff, Misiorowski left the game. The crowd at American Family Field gave him a standing ovation as he departed the field. Misiorowski became the third major-league pitcher since 1900 to record at least five innings without allowing a hit in his MLB debut, joining Los Angeles Dodgers Emmet Sheehan (six innings, 2023) and New York Giants Red Ames (five innings, 1903).

Dillon Gabriel Gets Good News After Browns Minicamp
Dillon Gabriel Gets Good News After Browns Minicamp originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Oregon Ducks just put up one of their most successful seasons in the program's history. Not only did they finish the regular season undefeated in their first year in the Big Ten, but they also won the conference championship game against Penn State. Advertisement As a result, the Ducks received the No. 1 seed and a first-round bye in the College Football Playoff after barely missing out on making it with Bo Nix the year prior. Oklahoma Sooners transfer Dillon Gabriel led them at the quarterback position. Oregon Ducks quarterback Dillon Gabriel (8).© Gary A. Vasquez-Imagn Images Dillon Gabriel gets good news during Browns minicamp While the Ducks fell to the Ohio State Buckeyes in the Rose Bowl, that didn't put a stop to their success. In April's NFL Draft, 10 Ducks were selected, the most in a single draft in program history. Many were shocked to see Gabriel be selected as high as he was when the Cleveland Browns took him in the third round. Even more surprising was the fact that they drafted him with Shedeur Sanders still on the board. Advertisement Now, the two are battling it out in Browns minicamp. While some out there believe in Sanders, Gabriel has received good news regarding his current standing with the team. In their 11-on-11 drills, Gabriel has been seen working with the first-team offense, something beat writer Mary Kay Cabot believes is significant. 'I think it's very significant right now that they're throwing first-teamers at Dillon," wrote Kabot. "Dillon is playing with the first-team offense against the first-team defense. I mean, those are choice quality reps that he's getting.' The Browns are one of the more intriguing quarterback battles around the league, with Gabriel, Sanders, Joe Flacco, and Kenny Pickett. Advertisement 'The Browns are positioning Gabriel to potentially serve as the backup quarterback behind a veteran starter, likely Joe Flacco or Pickett," Kabot wrote. "Sanders, meanwhile, is on a longer developmental timeline.' Things can change between now and the team's official training camp in August, but the Browns have seemingly liked what they've seen from Gabriel if they're not afraid to throw first-team reps at him. While he's not the biggest, Gabriel has a solid arm with great ball placement. They likely won't build around him, but they can likely keep you competitive in a game if he's thrown into the game in an emergency situation. The Brewers' top pitching prospect, a second-round pick in 2022, fired five innings of no-hit ball Thursday night against the St. Louis Cardinals before exiting in the sixth inning following a freak ankle injury. After throwing ball 3 to Victor Scott II, Misiorowski's right ankle bent awkwardly as he moved to return to the mound. The 6-foot-7, 197-pound pitcher exited with a trainer to a standing ovation. Misiorowski, 23, struck out five and walked four while allowing no hits on 81 pitches (49 strikes). The fireballer had 14 pitches meet or exceed 100 mph, per MLB — including the first three he threw. Nick Mears came on in relief and Scott eventually walked. Mears got out of the frame, but the combined no-hitter bid ended in the seventh inning with Aaron Ashby allowing three hits.
