NxtCell India entered into a Contract Manufacturing Agreement with Dixon Technologies
Hyderabad, May 13 (UNI) : NxtCell India, a 100 percent Indian domicile company, on Tuesday announced a strategic partnership with Padget Electronics Private Limited ('Padget Electronics'), a wholly owned subsidiary of Dixon Technologies (India) Limited ('Dixon Technologies'), India's leading electronics manufacturing services provider, by entering into a Contract Manufacturing Agreement, for manufacturing of smartphones for the iconic French tech brand 'Alcatel' in the Indian market.
The alliance between NxtCell India and Padget Electronics marks a pivotal moment in India's evolving digital manufacturing narrative, combining Alcatel's French design heritage with Padget's proven manufacturing excellence to deliver premium, globally benchmarked smartphones tailored for Indian consumers, a release said.
This collaboration also facilitates the seamless transfer of innovative, proprietary technology into India, ensuring that cutting-edge display and hardware advancements are integrated into local manufacturing.
The production ecosystem, housed within Padget Electronics's advanced facilities, is equipped with cutting-edge automation, AI-driven quality assurance systems, and sustainable operational practices, creating a scalable platform for both domestic distribution and global export.

Nidec launches Rs 600cr manufacturing plant in Dharwad
Dharwad: Nidec, a global leader in data centre equipment manufacturing, has set up a new plant with an investment of Rs 600 crore at the Beluru Industrial Area in Dharwad. The facility was officially launched by minister for large and medium industries, MB Patil. Speaking at the event, Patil said the new plant, which creates 800 direct jobs, will cater to the growing demand across sectors such as electric vehicles, data centres, renewable energy, battery storage, and general industries. "This unit will bolster local manufacturing, enhance R&D capabilities, and improve supply chain reliability," he said. The plant will manufacture heavy-duty machines of 2MW, 3MW, and 4MW capacity, essential for data centres, using advanced technology from Japan and France. These machines will be exported to markets in the US, the UAE, and Europe, alongside serving the domestic market. "While the facility has initially generated 800 direct jobs, the number is expected to rise to around 3,000 once the plant becomes fully operational," Patil informed. He also mentioned that 20 acres of land has been allocated for the company's battery solutions unit. In addition to heavy machinery, the plant will also produce power backup generators, wind generators, alternators for data centre, EV motors for three wheelers, four wheelers, trucks, elevator motors, and electronic drives-MV and LV. "For Nidec's project, we ensured timely facilitation by allotting the required land within just two years," he added. Addressing concerns about water usage, the minister clarified, "The Krishna River water tribunal has allocated 4 tmc of water for industrial purposes, of which, we are currently using only 0.5 tmc. We are not diverting water meant for agriculture. Moreover, the industries are provided only downstream water from the Hidkal Dam." He further emphasised the importance of balancing industrial development with agricultural interests. "While acquiring land for industrial purposes, fair compensation must be ensured for farmers. A healthy balance between agriculture and industry is vital," Patil noted. BENGALURU: Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla of India and three other members of Axiom-4 mission's multinational crew will launch for International Space Station on June 10 at 5.52pm IST, two days later than the originally planned June 8 lift-off. Axiom Space announced the revised schedule Tuesday, citing no reason for the delay. The mission, led by veteran astronaut Peggy Whitson, will launch from Kennedy Space Center's Launch Complex in Florida. Shukla addressed the world in a stirring final message, combining gratitude, science, and India's cultural pride. "Even stars are attainable," he said. "The last few months have been nothing short of extraordinary - of discovery and unshakable resolve. From diverse systems to advanced platforms, across continents and cultures.
