Ryan Wingo Dishes On Viral Moment With Arch Manning
Ryan Wingo is looked at as a strong breakout star candidate for next year. He teams up with one of the most hyped quarterbacks in college football history, Arch Manning. Earlier this off-season, the two went viral as Manning visited the Texas Longhorns WR's hometown for a camp.
Appearing on the '3rd and Longhorns' show, Wingo talked about the camp and Manning's viral moment from the 'bloc party' afterwards.
Manning has shown incredible leadership, as stated by Longhorns HC Steve Sarkisian. The two seasons he's spent as a backup have shaped him for the upcoming season, and his off-field presence with his teammates has showcased the same.
The Longhorns WR spoke on Manning's visit, saying, "It was a little block party, took some pictures. It obviously got out there — went a little viral. It was a good vibe though, my pop's was cooking."
Manning wasn't the only Longhorns teammate there—linebacker Colin Simmons, and wide receivers DeAndre Moore Jr. and Aaron Butler also made it to the camp in St. Louis.
Texas Longhorns are favored by many to win it all with their new quarterback. But with such a small sample size, Manning's report card won't actually be out until the end of the year.
However, that has not stopped media members from adding more fuel to the hype train. Colin Cowherd on Thursday joined the dots after a report suggested Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam has "unmatched thirst" for drafting Manning.
The FOX Sports broadcaster said, "This is the worst-kept secret in the south. Haslam, Jimmy, owner of the Browns, huge SEC, Tennessee booster, leans heavily on the Manning family."
He explained that the billionaire owner had been close to the Manning family for a long time, along with being close to Nick Saban. Saban, the Mannings, and Haslam could all be involved in the Browns' resurgence, according to Cowherd.
Whether this ends up happening or not, it is definitely noteworthy that the Texas Longhorns have such a quarterback on their roster right now. Steve Sarkisian and his staff will surely work their hardest to extract the best out of him.
The Longhorns kick off their season against the Ohio State Buckeyes on 30 August. This story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Jul 23, 2025, where it first appeared.

Quinn Ewers' Performance Sunday Has Fans Worried About Arch Manning
Quinn Ewers' Performance Sunday Has Fans Worried About Arch Manning originally appeared on The Spun. Arch Manning didn't play on Sunday - the 2025 college football season is a couple of weeks away - but fans are concerned about him. Quinn Ewers did play on Sunday. The former Texas Longhorns quarterback, who beat out Arch Manning for the QB1 job in back-to-back seasons, got some playing time in the Miami Dolphins vs. Chicago Bears game. It did not go very well. The former Texas Longhorns quarterback completed 5 of 18 passes for 91 yards. He got sacked twice and fumbled twice. Reviews from his performance are not very flattering. Meanwhile, on social media, fans are worried about what this could mean for Arch Manning's 2025 season under center in Texas. Following Quinn Ewers' rough performance, fans took to social media, wondering about what this could mean for Arch Manning's 2025 season. If Ewers looked this bad, how good could Arch Manning actually be? That's the main argument. "Just a reminder that Arch Manning couldn't beat out this guy Quinn Ewers in 2 full seasons," one fan wrote. "Arch Manning? The guy who couldn't beat out Quinn Ewers?" one fan added. "Arch couldn't unseat him tho 😤," another fan wrote in response to Ewers' final stats from Sunday's game. "What we learned today is we have our tank commander for Arch Manning in 2026. Once we clean house and cut the tickle, we already have our guy on the roster to lead us into the future," another Dolphins fan joked. Ewers did lead Texas to the College Football Playoff semifinals last year, so it's not like he was a bad college quarterback. And Arch Manning was a true freshman and then redshirt freshman. It's possible - likely, even - that he's much better now than he was heading into the 2024 and 2023 seasons. Still, it's interesting that some fans are having this reaction to Quinn Ewers' performance on Sunday. 2025 Texas Football Predictions: Longhorns Ranked 1st in RJ Young's Ultimate 136
College Football 2025 Texas Football Predictions: Longhorns Ranked 1st in RJ Young's Ultimate 136 Published Aug. 10, 2025 7:39 p.m. ET share facebook x reddit link This isn't your average college football ranking. My Ultimate 136 is a set of rankings that is fluid, but it's my job to look ahead and make a claim for all FBS teams based on what I know and why I know it. Here are the three pressing questions I started by asking when putting together this list: Who do I think is good? Why do I think they're good? What are the chances they will finish above or below my expectations? Here is a look at where Texas lands in my Ultimate 136. Texas Longhorns ranking: 1 Last year's ranking: 3 Top player: QB Arch Manning: Only FBS or NFL QB in the last 25 years to record a 75+ yard TD pass, a 65+ yard TD run and another 50+ yard TD pass in the same game. Went 2-0 as a starter last year, throwing for 583 yards and totaling 5 TDs (4 pass, 1 rush) in those two games. [Texas' 2025 schedule] RJ's take: After being selected by the Miami Dolphins in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft, Quinn Ewers has become a symbol of what might have been holding Texas back rather than quite actually the man who made "Texas is BACK!" a true statement. ADVERTISEMENT The year before Ewers arrived, Texas went 5-7 with Steve Sarkisian as head coach and offensive playcaller and Pete Kwiatkowski as defensive coordinator. The next year, Ewers took a five-win team and made it an eight-win team. The next year, Ewers led Texas to a 10-point win against Nick Saban's Alabama team in Tuscaloosa, a Big 12 title and its first appearance in the CFP. With the daunting move to the SEC, he didn't flinch. He led Texas to the SEC title game and a consecutive College Football Playoff semifinal appearance in the 12-team format. He passed for at least 3,400 yards and 20 touchdowns in each of his final two years on the Forty Acres. It's fair to say without his performances, Texas might not have landed No. 1 overall 2023 recruit and 2025 starter Arch Manning. If Texas wins the national title for the first time in two decades, it's because Ewers helped set the table to enjoy the meal; that's Ewers' legacy. But this guy, Arch, glory be, he's the best QB the Longhorns have had since almighty Vince Young. He was limited last year, but that didn't stop him from throwing for 939 yards — including 300-plus against SEC foe Mississippi State — and rushing for 108 yards in relief of Ewers. He ain't beat anybody yet, but he's got a scarlet and gray opportunity coming his way in Week 1. We'll draw a lot of conclusions from how he plays against defending national champion Ohio State on the road. The running back room will be stout with CJ Baxter returning from injury and Quintrevion Wisner rushing for over 1,000 yards last year. Wideout Ryan Wingo figures to blossom alongside DeAndre Moore and linebacker Anthony Hill ought to be an absolute terror on defense. There's no more Kelvin Banks to hold down the left side of the offensive line, but at 6-foot-7, 314 pounds and two starts, Trevor Goosby ought to have it handled. But the schedule ain't doing Texas any favors with just three SEC games at Darrell K Royal and the Longhorns face Georgia on the road this year. Still, it's the most talented team Sarkisian has had at Texas, and, for UT fans, it's the one that is supposed to win the national title right here, right now. [Check out RJ Young's Ultimate 136 College Football Rankings here] Texas Win Total Odds: Over 9.5 (-194) Under 9.5 (+156) Have an issue with my rankings? David Pollack Says This Historic Program Has the Best Running Back Room in College Football
David Pollack Says This Historic Program Has the Best Running Back Room in College Football originally appeared on Athlon Sports. There's no doubt that in college football, running back can be a pivotal position for teams looking to make a national championship run, and many programs have loaded up on talent. Of course, having just one great runner isn't enough. Often at least two or three are called upon to carry the workload, which means strong depth is important. In a video posted to the "See Ball Get Ball with David Pollack" YouTube channel, the analyst revealed which team he believes has the best group entering the 2025 season. 'Notre Dame has the best running back room in the country, and it's not close. ... [Jeremiyah] Love's the best to me,' Pollack said. 'He's the best running back in the country because he's got the wiggle, he's got the juice, he's got moves. … And then when you got Jadarian Price, who comes in, who's totally different and so freaking physical, like so physical, like he's going to break tackles, he's going to be north-south, he's gonna get positive yards. … And then Aneyas Williams, you talk about a guy that's a receiving threat. He was a freshman a year ago, and he's back. He's a great third-down back. So that's why Notre Dame has the best backfield in America.' How Did Notre Dame's Running Backs Perform Last Season? It's not a huge surprise the Fighting Irish were chosen, because last year, those three running backs Pollack mentioned combined for 317 carries, 2,090 yards, 26 touchdowns, 50 receptions, 419 yards and two receiving touchdowns. Love certainly carried the trio with a bulk of those numbers, racking up 163 carries, 1,125 yards, 17 touchdowns, 28 receptions, 237 yards and two touchdowns, which gave him one of the most complete stat lines in the nation. Now, with another year of experience under their belts, there's no reason to believe that all three can't see a boost in their numbers as Notre Dame looks to make a second straight College Football Playoff appearance. What Other Team Comes Close to Notre Dame? Despite Pollack claiming that no one "comes close" to the Fighting Irish, he walked back that statement and gave some serious praise to the Penn State Nittany Lions and their two-headed monster of Kaytron Allen and Nicholas Singleton. 'Penn State definitely has a gripe, like that's fair," Pollack said. "I just jumped the gun a little bit on that. I apologize, Penn State fans.' Those two for Penn State formed a formidable duo, combining for 392 carries, 2,207 yards, 20 touchdowns, 59 receptions, 528 yards and seven touchdowns, so their total numbers did rival that of Notre Dame's trio. By the end of the year, there's a chance that Love, Allen and Singleton will all be competing for the Doak Walker Award, which is handed out to the best running back in the story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Aug 4, 2025, where it first appeared.
