Kam Dewberry 2024 stats
Last season, Dewberry saw action in 12 games for the Aggies, 10 of which came along the offensive line. A majority of Dewberry's appearances a year ago came at left guard.
Kam Dewberry recruiting ranking
Coming out of high school, Dewberry was considered as the nation's No. 64 overall prospect in the 2022 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. A four-star recruit, Dewberry was also ranked as the No. 3 interior offensive lineman in the class, as well as the No. 10 overall player in the state of Texas where he attended Atascocita High School.

Prior to arriving at Alabama, Dewberry was ranked by 247Sports as the No. 219 overall player in the transfer portal this past offseason. Dewberry was also considered a three-star prospect in the portal, and committed to Alabama back in Dec. 2024.
Kam Dewberry 2025 season outlook
As we enter fall camp, Dewberry is likely the favorite to takeover as Alabama's starting left guard for the departed Tyler Booker.
However, that starting spot one could argue is not exactly a given entering the fall, as Dewberry will still have to go win the job in camp over others such as Geno VanDeMark. Regardless as to whether that happens or not, it still feels likely the Texas A&M transfer will see a significant amount of action this upcoming season, starting at some point at left guard.

As to when that could happen, do not be surprised if Dewberry is a starter from day one at Alabama, and for the Texas A&M transfer to be a key member of the Crimson Tide's offensive front throughout the fall.

Barcelona meet with superstar's agent to discuss new contract terms
Barcelona have started taking important steps to secure the future of key players, and Jules Kounde is high on that list. According to SPORT, the club's sporting director, Deco, held an informal meeting with the defender's agent, Jonathan Kebe, on the first day of pre-season training. Advertisement The purpose of the meeting was to discuss a possible contract extension and to review the player's current situation. Barcelona's message is clear Kounde is currently under contract until June 2027, but both sides have been in contact for months regarding a potential extension and improved terms. Yesterday's meeting was reportedly the fourth one between the two parties, showing that talks are ongoing and serious. The club wants to make sure all major issues, including contract renewals, are sorted out before the new season officially kicks off. With the pre-season tour just beginning, this is the ideal time to meet with players and agents face-to-face. Advertisement Kounde remains key to Barcelona's project From Barcelona's side, there is no doubt about Kounde's importance to the squad. The club sees him as a vital part of the long-term project and has no intention of letting him go. By meeting with his agent, the club wanted to make it clear that the French defender is a cornerstone of the team and fully trusted by the sporting department. Although the process is moving slowly, there is confidence that a deal will be reached. Kounde's performances and versatility have made him a key figure in defence, and both the club and his representatives are on the same page about his value. Barcelona captain misses first pre-season session for individual training
Barcelona kicked off their pre-season training on Monday, July 14, but one key name was missing from the group session. Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who has been at the centre of transfer rumours this summer, did not join his teammates on the pitch. Instead, the German goalkeeper stayed indoors, completing gym work due to minor discomfort. Advertisement As it turns out, there has been no official injury report from Barcelona. The club only released a short update confirming that Ter Stegen trained separately. 'Ter Stegen worked separately from the group, doing exercises in the gym,' read the statement from the club. What happened to Ter Stegen? According to SPORT, this is simply a precaution due to slight physical issues, not a serious injury. Ter Stegen's future has come into question after Barça signed Joan Garcia from Espanyol. The club sees Garcia as their new first-choice goalkeeper, with Wojciech Szczesny expected to arrive as the experienced backup. Marc-Andre ter Stegen did not train with the squad. (Photo by) Advertisement In this situation, keeping Ter Stegen as a third-choice option is not realistic, either financially or competitively. Ter Stegen is one of the club's highest earners, and with the World Cup approaching, he will not want to spend a season on the bench. Barcelona open to letting Ter Stegen leave Despite this complicated scenario, Barcelona have been transparent with Ter Stegen. Last Friday, head coach Hansi Flick sat down with the German keeper to clarify the club's position. Barcelona do not want to force him out, given his importance over the last decade. However, they also understand that his role will now be different. Advertisement Ter Stegen has a contract until June 2028, including salary deferrals from previous seasons. He is not planning to terminate his deal easily, but he is open to listening to options. The final decision will depend on whether he receives offers from other top clubs. However, the goalkeeper market in Europe is moving fast, and there are fewer and fewer positions available.

MLB Draft: Top pick Eli Willits, 17, to build power with Nationals
July 14 (UPI) -- Switch-hitting shortstop Eli Willits is lauded as exceedingly polished at the plate, but the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 MLB Draft says he plans to improve as a power hitter while with the Washington Nationals. Willits spoke about his desire to improve in that area Sunday, moments after the Nationals made him the youngest No. 1 overall pick in an MLB Draft since Ken Griffey Jr. in 1987. The move to select the 17-year-old infielder from Broxton High School in Fort Cobb, Okla., that early was a bit of a shock, as experts expected either shortstop Ethan Holliday or pitcher Kade Anderson to be the first player picked. Advertisement "I'm just a player that's going to go out there and give everything I've got, just like everyone else," Willits said on the MLB Network broadcast from Atlanta. "I feel like I have a good hit ability and I'm going to take that to the next level. I feel like my power is up and coming, but I needed to get into an organization like the Nationals that can help develop that and take that to the next level." The 6-foot-1, 180-pound infielder previously committed to Oklahoma, but now will likely be headed into the Nationals' minor league system. He hit .471 with 14 doubles, a triple, eight home runs, 34 RBIs, 27 walks, 47 stolen bases and 56 runs last season, when he struck out only four times. Advertisement "I'm just excited and thankful for the Nationals organization for giving me this chance," Willits said. "I want to thank God for everything, but at the end of the day I'm just ready to get out there and get to work." The Nationals made Willits the top pick about a week after they fired longtime general manager Mike Rizzo and Dave Martinez. Interim general manager Mike DeBartolo DeBartolo, who said he was "empowered" by ownership to make draft and trade deadline decisions, called Willits the Nationals' "top guy throughout the process." "We couldn't be more excited," DeBartolo said. "Eli, he's special player. Great hit tool, makes contact, controls the strike zone. We love his swing, switch hitter, just a clean operation at the plate, with developing power, impact at the plate then just an elite shortstop. Somebody who stays at shortstop, somebody with great range, smooth hands, great arm, accurate. You add on top of that, intangibles, confidence, work ethic and maturity that's off the charts. Advertisement "You put all that together. It's rare to get somebody that is the best hitter in the draft and best fielder in the draft. We just felt that was an opportunity we couldn't pass up." The Los Angeles Angels selected former UC Santa Barbara right-handed pitcher Tyler Bremner at No. 2 overall. Anderson, a left-handed pitcher out of LSU, landed with the Seattle Mariners at No. 3. The Colorado Rockies snagged Holliday, a third baseman from Stillwater High School in Stillwater, Okla., at No. 4. Tennessee left-handed pitcher Liam Doyle went to the St. Louis Cardinals at No. 5. Right-handed pitcher Seth Hernandez (Pittsburgh Pirates), shortstop Aiva Arquette (Miami Marlins), shortstop JoJo Parker (Toronto Blue Jays), shortstop Steele Hall (Cincinnati Reds) and shortstop Billy Carlson (Chicago White Sox) rounded out the Top 10 picks. All Day 1 selections can be found here. Rounds 4 through 20 of the 2025 MLB Draft will air at 11:30 a.m. EDT Monday on and
