Has The Haunted Palace been renewed for Season 2? Here's what we know:

The Review Geek07-06-2025
Summary
The Haunted Palace is the latest K-drama from SBS. This historical K-drama has everything from comedy and possessions to evil grudges and first love.
K-dramas usually have 1 season but this is changing due to global popularity like that of Penthouse, Taxi Driver and Squid Game.
As of now, there's no news regarding the renewal of The Haunted Palace, but we look at the possibility of a Season 2.
The Haunted Palace is another exciting K-drama from SBS which is known for fun sageuks like Moon Lovers, Lovers of the Red Sky and The Secret Romantic Guesthouse. Said to be a romantic fantasy drama, it has everything from supernatural possession and mysteries to first love and comedy.
The 16-episode season stars Yook Sung-jae, Bona and Kim Ji-hoon among others. It is helmed by director Yoon Sung-shik who is known for iconic historical dramas like Hwarang and Mr Queen.
With shocking revelations and plot twists, the season finale is bound to have viewers on the edge of their seats.
If you're watching the first season and want to know if there will be a second, this article has all the details you're looking for.
Here's everything we know:
What is The Haunted Palace Season 1 about?
The K-drama follows three Joseon characters who come from different walks of life but are forced to work together to get rid of dangerous spirits plaguing the capital and the royal family. Yoon Gap is a handsome and efficient official who gets possessed by an Imugi who had once stalked a shaman family.
And guess who is brought in to exorcise spirits in the palace? Yeo-ri, the same shaman girl who was harassed by the Imugi and also happens to be Yoon Gap's first love. But they must put their differences aside and join hands with King Lee Sung to save the palace. A reformist who wants to create a strong nation, the king takes it upon himself to get rid of all corruption while refusing to believe that supernatural beings exist.
We have ongoing coverage of The Haunted Palace on the site, including recaps for all episodes. You can find those HERE!
Has The Haunted Palace Been Renewed for Season 2?
At the time of writing, The Haunted Palace has not been renewed for season 2.
While the K-drama industry is changing its format, we are yet to see multiple-season shows. Sure, dramas like Strong Girl Nam-soon, Doctor Romantic and Taxi Driver 2 appear to be an exception thanks to their roaring success. But it is unlikely that we will get The Haunted Palace season 2 at the moment, especially since SBS historical K-drama sequels are pretty rare.
What do we know about The Haunted Palace Season 2?
Not much is known about The Haunted Palace Season 2 at the moment given that it has not been greenlit. A prequel could explore Gangcheori's past, the previous King's rule or even the attack on Yongdam Village. There is also plenty of material for a sequel as the shamans go about resolving supernatural incidents around the country.
If the K-drama does return, you can expect a season with approximately 16 episodes, each lasting around 50 minutes. However, nothing is confirmed yet, but we'll be sure to update this page as soon as any new information comes in.

TikTokers go wild for the ‘NEXT Labubus' in new collectable toy wave – and it's a fraction of the price

TIKTOK is raving about a new plush toy that has been dubbed the 'next Labubu'. Fans are eyeing up another brand strikingly similar to the cult collectable dolls seen dangling from the designer bags of Rihanna, Kim Kardashian and David Beckham. 4 Labubus have taken the internet by storm - with Chinese toymaker Pop Mart's valuation skyrocketing to £31.6bn. But now some TikTokers are calling the plushies designed by Hong Kong-born artist Kasing Lung old news. The latest craze, Wakuku, is a collection of playful plush dolls sold by Chinese retail chain Miniso Group Holding. As with Labubus, fans can buy the dolls in blind boxes - a clever marketing ploy to add an element of surprise to purchases. One Wakuku doll currently costs around £19.56 on the fast fashion retailer Shein, while a single Labubu can cost anywhere from £13.50 to £211 at stores and online, depending on the rarity of the design. A single blind box of six Wakuku dolls costs around £22 at the US retailer Walmart. On the other hand, a blind box of six Labubus will set you back around £105. Fans of Wakuku have been quick to spot a key-chain of the doll on TikTok shop. Besides their differences in price, the two brands' dolls differ in their appearance. Labubu is a character inspired by Nordic fairy tales, while Wakuku is described as a rebellious wild child roaming the forest. Dramatic moment crowds join massive queue to grab viral Labubu dolls as latest doll craze sweeps across the world Wakuku dolls have so far proven immensely popular in China, with long lines of people seen queuing at Miniso stores. It comes as parents in Wales were recently warned about fake Labubu dolls that could cause harm to children. Rhondda Cynon Taf Council issued a warning after discovering counterfeit toys in Pontypridd - leading the council to seize over 32 keyrings and 95 boxes of the fake dolls. The toys were found to lack essential safety testing required to ensure compliance with regulations. Rhian Hope, Head of Public Protection and Regulatory Services at Rhondda Cynon Taf Council, told Wales Online: "Counterfeit toys can potentially pose significant dangers to young children such as chemical exposure and choking hazards. "These products routinely lack proper safety testing and we encourage anyone concerned about the safety of toys they've purchased to get in touch with us via Consumer Advice." Real Labubu dolls are sold on Amazon, Pop Mart's website and various UK outlets. Among these are London's famous Oxford Street, as well as Westfield shopping centres and Manchester's Chinatown district.

The club have announced several permanent tributes and Jota will be forever remembered outside the stadium with a permanent sculpture. The design has not yet been decided and it will be joined by floral tributes in all club sites including the training ground and women's team HQ. There will also be a 'Forever 20' emblem printed on the new Liverpool kits which are set to be released on August 1 by adidas. This will remain in place all season. If supporters want to get the name Diogo J and number 20 on the back of their new shirts, all profits from the printing will go to the LFC Foundation. The foundation has committed to creating a grassroots football programme in Diogo's name.
