Yahoo11 hours ago
According to a joint statement, al-Baqin served as the deputy commander of the Nukhba company in Hamas's central Jabaliya battalion.
The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) attacked and eliminated the terrorist Abdullah Saeed Abd al-Baqin, who served as deputy commander of the Nukhba Company in the Central Jabalia Battalion of the Hamas terrorist organization in Gaza. He was killed in an operation carried out on August 7.
Abdel Begin raided the territory of the State of Israel in the massacre of October 7, took part in the raid on the Erez IDF base and participated in the kidnapping of soldiers Ron Sherman, the late Nick Beiser, and Tamir Nimrodi.
Also, during the war he promoted numerous terrorist plots against IDF forces in the region.
THe IDF's expanded operation in Gaza
This comes after Palestinians in Gaza reported the heaviest bombardments in weeks on Monday in areas east of Gaza City, just hours after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he expected to complete a new expanded offensive in the enclave 'fairly quickly.'
IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir said on Monday, 'We are at the start of a new stage in the fighting in Gaza. We will do everything to protect the hostages and bring them home.'

NGOs complain of Gaza aid deliveries blocked over ‘hostile and sometimes violent activity' rules

NGOs complained that Israel increasingly denied their requests to deliver aid to Gaza. Many aid organisations are cover for hostile activity, said Israel's Diaspora Minister Amichai Chikli. New rules on aid delivery came into effect in March. New Israeli legislation regulating foreign aid groups has been increasingly used to deny their requests to bring supplies into Gaza, according to a joint letter signed by more than 100 groups published on Thursday. Ties between foreign-backed aid groups and the Israeli government have long been beset by tensions, with officials often complaining the organisations are biased. The rocky relations have only gotten more strained in the wake of Hamas's unprecedented attack on Israel in October 2023. 'Israeli authorities have rejected requests from dozens of NGOs to bring in lifesaving goods, citing that these organisations are 'not authorised to deliver aid',' the joint statement reads. According to the letter, whose signatories include Oxfam and Doctors Without Borders (MSF), at least 60 requests to bring aid into Gaza were rejected in July alone. In March, Israel's government approved a new set of rules for foreign non-governmental organisations (NGOs) working with Palestinians. Khames Alrefi/Anadolu via Getty Images The law updates the framework for how aid groups must register to maintain their status within Israel, along with provisions that outline how their applications can be denied or registration revoked. Registration can be rejected if Israeli authorities deem that a group denies the democratic character of Israel or 'promotes delegitimisation campaigns' against the country. 'Unfortunately, many aid organisations serve as a cover for hostile and sometimes violent activity,' Israel's Diaspora Minister Amichai Chikli told AFP. #Gaza: The health care sector is experiencing a catastrophic situation. Hospitals are stretched beyond capacity. Across Gaza, hospitals are reporting 300% or higher occupancies. Hear from 5 of our colleagues share the dire situations they and their patients are facing: — Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières (@MSF_canada) August 13, 2025 'Organisations that have no connection to hostile or violent activity and no ties to the boycott movement will be granted permission to operate,' added Chikli, whose ministry directed an effort to produce the new guideline. Aid groups say, however, that the new rules are leaving Gazans without help. 'Our mandate is to save lives, but due to the registration restrictions civilians are being left without the food, medicine and protection they urgently need,' said Jolien Veldwijk, director of the charity CARE in the Palestinian territories. Ilia Yefimovich/picture alliance via Getty Images Veldwijk said that CARE has not been able to deliver any aid to Gaza since Israel imposed a full blockade on the Palestinian territory in March, despite partially easing it in May. Israel has long accused Hamas of stealing aid entering the Strip, and since May, the government has relied on the US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation to manage food distribution centres. According to Gaza's civil defence agency, its operations have been frequently marred by chaos as thousands of Gazans have scrambled each day to approach its hubs, where some have been shot, including by Israeli soldiers.

IDF conducts airstrikes on south Lebanon against Hezbollah terror targets

"There are no unusual instructions for the civilian area. All planned events are approved as scheduled. We will provide updates on any changes," the Upper Galilee Council stated. The Israel Air Force conducted airstrikes in southern Lebanon on Wednesday night, the military confirmed. The IDF said that it struck Hezbollah weapons storage facilities, a missile launcher, and Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure that stored engineering tools. "The Hezbollah terrorist organization continues attempting to reestablish terrorist infrastructure throughout Lebanon using the Lebanese population as human shields. The presence of weapons and the activity of Hezbollah in the area constitute a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon," an IDF spokesperson's unit statement read. Upper Galilee residents informed of updates Maariv reported that Air Force jets conducted multiple waves of strikes in an hour. The sound of explosions was heard throughout the Galilee region, and regional councils told residents that the security situation remained the same. "At this time, intense strikes have begun in the Lebanon sector as part of enforcement efforts. There is no change in policy. There are no unusual instructions for the civilian area. All planned events are approved as scheduled. We will provide updates on any changes," the Upper Galilee Council stated. Last night, the Lebanese government introduced a measure to establish a monopoly on weapons in the country in order to promote Hezbollah's disarmament. Hezbollah claimed that the move was made due to pressure from US mediators to support peace with Israel. 'The Nawaf Salam government has committed a grave sin with a decision that leaves Lebanon without resistance weapons against the Israeli enemy. The government's decision was made due to demands from the American ambassador, and it fully serves Israel, leaving Lebanon exposed to the enemy with no deterrence.'

Ex-IDF chief Halevi slams Mossad chief: 'Takes credit for ops led by IDF'

In meetings, Halevi reportedly criticized Barnea's performance, particularly during the 12-Day War against Iran. Former chief of staff Maj.-Gen. Herzi Halevi criticized Mossad head David (Dedi) Barnea in a series of meetings since he stepped down from the role in March, Channel 13 reported on Wednesday. Halevi slammed the Mossad head for allegedly taking credit for operations led by the IDF. "The head of Mossad crowns himself, takes credit for operations led by the IDF, and engages in self-promotion in an uncooperative manner. 'It occupies him to the point that he allowed videos from operations in Iran to be published," he added, according to the report. Halevi resigned, keeping his promise made in October 2023, to take responsibility for the failure of the October 7 massacre. In the meetings, Halevi reportedly criticized Barnea's performance, particularly during the 12-Day War against Iran. Barnea's approach was PR-driven "He didn't take the right approach," Channel 13 reported Halevi as saying, criticizing what he saw as a PR-driven management of operations. He also reportedly accused Barnea of "suggesting actions beyond his role and failing to take responsibility for their outcomes." Solve the daily Crossword
