Beauty buff tests Lookfantastic's Travel Edit with products worth £105 for £30

The Lookfantastic Travel Edit costs £30 and contains a whole host of holiday necessities - says beauty writer Eve Rowlands, who tried out the box to see if it was worth the money
When going on holiday, one of the little stresses that can send us into a frenzy the night before is ensuring we have miniature versions of some of our favourite, or most necessary, shower bag inclusions. Thankfully, Lookfantastic has holiday-goers sorted with its Travel Edit, packed with staple products every trip needs in dainty sizes.
Costing £30, the haul is worth more than £105 and contains some pretty epic beauty industry names like Philip Kingsley, La Roche Posay, Sol De Janeiro, Avene and more. This makes it a cheaper haul than Cult Beauty's £40 The Set for Sun Edit, which includes Elemis, Ultrasun, Laneige and more. For those who would rather stick to one brand, Caudalie's Summer Travel Edit costs £19 and contains four goodies.
Promising to deliver everything one needs for a trip 'from hair-to-toe, to go sky-high', I got the Lookfantastic Travel Edit to see if it would be worth the money. Here's what I thought.
With nine items inside the box and at £30, I do think that it's pretty good value as it means paying just over £3 for each product inside. This is pretty wild considering one of the items costs £36 alone - the Zelens 3T Complex Anti-Ageing Cream, which uses a blend of botanicals, herbal oils, and algae extracts to nourish and revive ageing looking skin.
While I've not used it long enough to see results, it smells nice and feels lovely on my skin. What I've noticed is that the contents of the Travel Edit has the entire body covered with products that won't take up too much room in a bag.
The Philip Kingsley shampoo and conditioner treats the hair, while the Ole Henriksen Strength Trainer Peptide Boost Moisturiser, Perricone MD High Potency Hyaluronic Intensive Serum, Biossance Amino Aloe Cleanser, La Roche-Posay Anthelios UVMune 400 Invisible Fluid Suncream SPF50+ and Avene Thermal Spring Water Spray will keep my skin in check from the plane to the sunshine to the sea.
The Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 62 Perfume Mist smells divine, while the L'OCCITANE Almond Shower Oil, a personal favourite of mine, makes skin soft, which is lovely post-beach. While I loved essentially all items in the pack, I did have my favourites.
The Biossance Amino Aloe Cleanser is lovely to use. Although it's simple and is worth £5, it's great for sensitive skin as it feels gentle and lathers up quickly, removing dirt and impurities without stripping skin of its moisture. Personally, I didn't notice any scent, so it's a good option for those who find fragranced cleansers irritating.
The Perricone MD serum and Ole Henriksen moisturiser are a lovely duo to add into any beauty arsenal. While the size of these products may look relatively miniscule, a little goes a long way with both formulas.
The serum feels silky smooth and left my cheeks with a little bounce, which was enhanced with the Ole Henriksen moisturiser. The moisturiser is quite thick, which means you only need a little bit to spread around the face.
On first use, it gave my skin a lovely glow, so I can't wait to see the results after a few weeks of using it. This pairing would be great after being in the sun all day, as it can be used both morning and night and doesn't feel like it's clogging pores.
As a firm fan of the La Roche-Posay Anthelios UVMune 400 Invisible Fluid Suncream SPF50+ already, this is a staple in my bag whenever I'm in the sunshine. The formula is quite watery which is great to absorb into skin and doesn't leave a sticky residue, like many other suncreams do. It doesn't have much of a scent, which is refreshing, nor does it leave me with that annoying shine.
One product I'm excited to try on my next holiday (I'm saving it), is the Avene Thermal Spring Water Spray. Marketed as an anti-bacterial spray, it's said to keep skin clean, cool and refreshed, which is a must when you go on a dehydrating plane. I can see it being great at the height of the day too when you need a little cool down.
As someone who has relatively thick, curly hair that needs no help when it comes to volume, especially in the heat, I slick it back as best I can to keep the humidity at bay. The shampoo and conditioner set by Philip Kingsley is probably not best suited for me, especially seeing as it's described as being ideal for 'shorter, fine hair'. I'll probably pass this on to one of my friends or family members who would find it works better for them.
Those who have used it love the results, with one person saying: "I've tried several hair products that claim to add volume and have been disappointed until using this duo! This builds body without weighing down hair and I've found it really makes my fine hair look thicker." However, for others, it has made their hair 'dry'. This is a good option to try out the hair products before splurging on the usual £54 full size set.
I think an improvement that would make the box even better would be making the suncream, body oil and Avene spray a little larger. They'll easily run out in just a few uses as they're deluxe sizes.
Most shoppers seemed fine with the sizes of the products, one person on Lookfantastic said: "This box is amazing and has everything you need for your holidays. I am going away shortly and this will see me through my holidays. Much cheaper than buying items individually and I get to try them before buying full size. Win-Win."
Meanwhile, for one person, it wasn't varied enough as they wrote alongside a three-star rating: "Great Travel Sizes don't get me wrong, but the products are unlikely for Travel. Some SPF would have been great, maybe a mini make-up item and a bit more variety! Not the best but still very good value."
However another hailed the Travel Edit as a 'box of perfect little summer goodies.'

Then in January this year, fast fashion bosses added five more scents - including the Santorini Sunsets. Among the others are Capri Coast, Bali Blush, Rio Romance and Fiji Fiesta, and they all come in similar bottles to the £24 Sol de Janeiro viral Perfume Mists. The travel set comes in an orange travel bag to match and is under the 100ml limit for hand luggage making it perfect for any vacations this year. Why Sol de Janeiro's Bum Bum Cream is a cult favourite among beauty lovers Holiday Must-haves Primark has gone viral this year for its selection of cheap hand luggage. TikTok user Pia Blossom decided to put it's new carry on suitcase to the test and see how much the popular tiny bag can hold - while being within the regulations. It measures 40x20x25cm, when its wheels are removed, meaning it's fully compliant with Ryanair's underseat baggage dimensions (40x20x25cm) It's also ideal for EasyJet customers, with their under-seat cabin bag's maximum dimensions being 45x36x20cm, including handles and wheels. Primark's history PRIMARK first opened in 1969 as Pennies in Dublin, hoping to provide affordable fashion in Ireland. A Primark store officially opened as Primark in 1974 in Derby. The retailer now has 193 stores across the UK and 441 stores worldwide with a goal of running 530 stores by the end of 2026. The airline claims this size allows you to 'bring all the essentials for a short trip' - but Pia decided to see if this was true for her. 'Shall we see how much we can fit in it?" she asked viewers. Getting to work, Pia managed to add a 'couple of dresses, a couple of jackets, cardigan, underwear, spare bra and [two pairs of] summery shoes.' 'I almost forgot pyjamas, but we got them in there, too. 'This is closing much easier than I thought it would, which feels like a challenge to put more in. 'I am so impressed with that.'

Beauty buffs find way to get Elemis, Laneige and Sol de Janeiro for £5

Rivalling the likes of Boots and Glossybox, ASOS' latest beauty box includes eight products from the likes of Elemis, Laneige, Sunday Riley, Sol de Janeiro and Elizabeth Arden Beauty buffs set to jet off to sunnier climes this summer will no doubt already be thinking about what products they'll be taking away with them. With limited space in suitcases and hand luggage, every product must be carefully considered to make the cut. To help take the stress out of packing, a number of popular high street retailers have released travel edits, with fashion favourite ASOS being the latest to throw their hat into the ring with their Luxury Travel Essentials Beauty Box. Coming in a handy travel pouch, the edit costs £40 and boasts £135 worth of products, saving £95 on the RRP. Inside, shoppers will find eight products from a range of top brands, including Elemis, Laneige, Sol de Janeiro and Elizabeth Arden. As part of the offer, each item works out at £5 apiece. Designed to melt away makeup and impurities, the haul contains a 20g tub of the Elemis Pro-Collagen Black Cherry Cleansing Balm. It's the same iconic formula as the original, but with a delicious cherry scent in a tub that's the perfect size for a week away. Countless times the Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Crush Cheirosa 62 Perfume Mist has been hailed as a 'holiday in a bottle' scent. With notes of pistachio, almond, vanilla and salted caramel, this mini mist will not only be the ideal fragrance for a getaway, but will mean beauty lovers can leave their more expensive scents at home. The Patchology Skin Remedy Soothing Eye Gels are a must for those catching a plane this summer. Pop them on during the flight and arrive at the destination with de-puffed, brighter eyes. Shoppers can also expect to find a LANEIGE Hydro UV Defense EX SPF 50, the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour HydraPlay Skin Perfecting Daily Moisturizer, Sunday Riley Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment. Philip Kingsley Swimcap Water-Resistant Mask and The Ritual of Karma Lotus Flower & White Tea Body Scrub. The set rivals the Boots Get Holiday Ready Bag, which is filled with glow-enhancing favourites, hydrating heroes, and mood-boosting fragrance. Valued at £124.50, the seven-piece edit is priced at £32, which means each item averages out at £4.57- making it slightly better value than ASOS, but with fewer products inside. Brands featured include Sol de Janeiro and Laneige - like ASOS' - but also Milk, Bobbi Brown, MAC and more. Glossybox has released a brand-new Travel Beauty Kit Limited Edition - and it saves shoppers more than £120 on the contents. While the goodies inside this beauty haul are worth over £150, it can be snapped up for an impressive £30 by subscribers, or £40 by non-subscribers. Glossybox's travel kit features 12 skincare, makeup and haircare treats, five of which are full-sized. Among the goodies inside Glossybox's travel kit is the e.l.f. Power Grip Matte Primer Mini, a Morphe M2 Quad Goals in Hibiscus Twist, worth £16, and a Rodial Dragons Blood Sculpting Gel, worth £27. Both of these sets have earned some glowing five star reviews from shoppers, however, ASOS' set is so new it's yet to generate any ratings from customers. This could potentially put off shoppers who prefer to read comments from others before making a purchase. Another potential downside is that beauty fans may not like every single product in the edit, which is why it's always worth double checking the contents. Here's what's inside the ASOS Luxury Travel Essentials Beauty Box: In other news, LookFantastic is offering the Summer Heroes Edit for £45, which, considering it's valued at over £150, means a stunning saving of £105 for buyers. The exclusive bundle includes six beauty gems, including four full-sized items from high-end brands such as Sol de Janeiro and ESPA. Space NK also has an exciting haul, inspired by the viral TikTok trend, 'the everything shower'. The luxury edit of bath, body, and haircare costs £70 and is worth £165, boasting names like Sol de Janeiro, Living Proof and Alpha-H.
