Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill beats Noah Lyles' brother, Josephus, in 100-meter dash
It may not have been the Lyles he had in mind, but Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill still took down a Lyles on the track.
The Dolphins' star wideout showed up at the ATX Sprint Classic meet in Austin, Texas on June 28 to run in the 100-meter preliminary dash, in which he finished ahead of Olympic gold medalist Noah Lyles' younger brother, Josephus Lyles, with a personal-best time of 10.10 seconds.
Hill finished fourth among the seven-runner heat and 0.10 seconds behind Lawrence Johnson for first place.

The ATX Sprint Classic is the second known organized race in a matter of weeks for the 31-year-old Hill, who won the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.15 seconds at the Last Chance Sprint Series meet in Los Angeles, per NBC Sports. Noted by USA TODAY, the 10.15-second finish was a personal best for Hill.
The five-time All-Pro First Team selection was scheduled to run against Noah Lyles, to determine who is the "fastest man in the world" but the race was canceled on June 16. According to USA TODAY, Noah Lyles said the race was canceled due to some "complications" and "personal reasons" that "it just didn't come to pass."
Hill is set to enter his 10th season in the NFL, and fourth with the Dolphins. In nine seasons in the NFL, Hill has racked up 11,098 career receiving yards and 89 career touchdowns (including rushing touchdowns).

The franchise then bolstered its running back room by taking RJ Harvey with the No. 60 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and signing J.K. Dobbins as a free agent in June. The makeup of the Broncos' wide receiver room, though, has remained stagnant for the most part, outside of using a third-round draft pick on Pat Bryant. That's why ClutchPoints' Douglas Fritz suggests that, if the team makes any more moves ahead of the regular season, it should be at the wideout position. Fritz specifically believes the Broncos should sign Amari Cooper, who remains a free agent after playing for both the Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills in 2024. "Yes, we've seen the dropoff. Cooper turned in a poor performance in 2024, totaling only 44 catches for 547 yards and four scores. His stats were almost evenly split between the Browns and the Bills, so it can't all be based on poor quarterback play for the Browns," Fritz wrote. "However, Cooper reportedly played through injuries in 2024. If he's healthier this year, he could provide a spark for the right team. And the Broncos seem to be a good fit." Downing-Imagn Images Fritz – who also believes Cooper could be a good fit for the New Orleans Saints, Pittsburgh Steelers and San Francisco 49ers – cited an article written by Pro Football Focus' Max Chadwick and Dalton Wasserman that highlighted the Broncos' need for strong wide receiver play this upcoming season as rationale for the former Alabama star's potential signing. Advertisement 'While the Broncos gave quarterback Bo Nix the highest-graded pass-blocking unit in football (83.5), they didn't provide ample skill-position weapons,' Chadwick and Wasserman wrote. 'The Broncos earned the fifth-worst PFF receiving grade... in 2024." He set a new league record for rushing yards in a single season, including the postseason, and won the award for the offensive player of the year. He was a key catalyst to the Eagles winning Super Bowl LIX. After that historic season, though, one analyst believes Barkley is set up for failure in 2025, especially in fantasy. Bleacher Report's Gary Davenport thinks Barkley is "doomed" for fantasy football next season. He is the top running back and expected player in most drafts, and that is cause for major concern. "Saquon Barkley had a fantastic 2024 season," Davenport said. "However, he's doomed in 2025 for numerous reasons. Advertisement "Barkley had 378 touches a season ago, putting him squarely in the crosshairs of the 'Curse of 370.' Since 2007, there have been 25 instances where a running back surpassed 370 touches in a season. Of that group, only two gained more total yardage the following year." Davenport is not the only person who has seen the warning signs that Barkley could be in trouble. Each runner that has recorded over 2,000 yards in a season saw a significant decrease in efficiency the following year. The same goes for running backs who were also named offensive player of the year or are the top overall players in fantasy. There seems to be a "curse" that follows running backs who have historic seasons like Barkley enjoyed last year. While Philadelphia does have several factors that should help the All-Pro's case (an elite offensive line and other stars in the passing game), it's fair to wonder if Barkley can ever reach his elite mark again. Advertisement Fans are left wondering about the validity of all of this, but … It's hard to overlook Davenport's clear message about Barkley's potentially "doomed" future.
