Texas A&M HC Mike Elko believes the Aggies possess 'double-digit NFL draft picks'
Throughout the offseason, Elko has been very vocal about Texas A&M's need to acquire and develop NFL talent, primarily through recruiting. The program's 14 transfer portal additions include several players, such as wide receiver KC Concepcion and defensive tackle Tyler Odyedim, who are likely second-round draft selections next spring.
York, Reed-Adams, and Lee are also considered first, second, or third-round NFL draft picks at this point, and if all three players have strong seasons, their draft stock will only increase. Before taking the podium, Elko discussed the importance of developing NFL talent, stating that winning the SEC "typically" means said team has at least 13 future NFL Draft picks, similar to what the Texas Longhorns accomplished last season.
"We should get to double digit NFL draft picks this year. That'll be the first time Texas A&M has done that in a very long time."
This is not the first time Elko has discussed Texas A&M's NFL-ready 2025 roster this offseason, but it's the confidence in this group that stands out, especially knowing that redshirt sophomore quarterback Marcel Reed will be playing with a deep running back room and all five returning starters on the offensive line.

So, we'll likely see the Colts score plenty of points in this game as the No. 4 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Anthony Richardson, and Daniels -- who has 69 starts to his name -- both stake their claims to lead Shane Steichen's Colts offense. Steichen said this week that Richardson will start vs. the Ravens and play about a quarter-and-a-half, and Jones will start next week against the Packers. The Ravens not only had their reign of preseason dominance from '16-22 upended in 2023, when they went 1-2, but they also were 1-2 in last year's exhibition slate. Still, this team is 45-16 all-time in preseason under John Harbaugh (including 24-6 at home), and three of their four preseason losses the last two years came by 6 points or fewer. Eagles backup Tanner McKee is expected to play the majority of the reps. If he's anywhere near as sharp as he was in his appearances against the Cowboys and the Giants last year (he completed 30-for-45 passes in those games, with 4 TDs and 0 picks), Philly should be able to score some points, even if the starters stay on the sidelines for most/all of the night. Bengals coach Zac Taylor said that they plan to play Joe Burrow and the starters for a quarter, which could produce some early fireworks at home -- and probably explains why Cincinnati is a 6-point road favorite. At DK, the Bengals are listed -0.5 on the first-quarter spread. That is an obvious but nevertheless tempting play with Burrow and the first-string offense in action. The other play I like tonight is the Over. Here's what to know about Packers-Jets preseason game: Hot temps, stadium hours, parking
The Green Bay Packers play their first game of the 2025 season, albeit a preseason one, at 7 p.m. Aug. 9 against the New York Jets at Lambeau Field. The Packers play three preseason games this year, including two at Lambeau Field. In addition to the Jets, the Packers play the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium at noon Aug. 16 and the Seattle Seahawks at 3 p.m. Aug. 23 at Lambeau Field. The Jets game is for Green package season ticket holders and the Seahawks game is for Gold package ticket holders often sell or give away their preseason tickets, so there will be many first-time fans and fans who don't come to Lambeau Field very often attending the game. Here are some things to know to make it a smoother visit: Saturday will be hot with a chance of rain in Green Bay Saturday night will be cooler than during the day, but still warm at 71, according to the National Weather Service Green Bay. The daytime high is forecast to be around 90. The chance of showers and thunderstorms increases from 20% during the day to 50% at night. Umbrellas are not allowed in the Lambeau Field bowl. Lambeau Field ranked No. 1 USA TODAY and Sports Illustrated ranked Lambeau Field No. 1 among the 30 stadiums in the NFL to attend a football game.
