We hit 35 in our Raiders countdown to kickoff. Who wore it best and who's wearing it now

USA Today3 days ago
We've reached 35 days until the Raiders season opener at Foxboro against the Patriots, With our countdown at 35 days we take a look at who currently dons the number in Silver & Black and who has brought it the most distinction.
No. 35
Who's wearing it now: RB Chris Collier
An undrafted free agent last year, Collier joined the Raiders midway through the season. He appeared in the final three games of last season, carrying the ball five times for 12 yards. He has his work cut out for himself trying to make this roster with Ashton Jeanty, Raheem Mostert, Sincere McCormick, and Zamir White all ahead of him on the depth chart.
Who wore it best: RB Hewritt Dixon
Yesterday, honorable mention for the number 36 was Clem Daniels. He was the first great Raiders back. And he handed the baton to Dixon to run with. Dixon spent five seasons with the Raiders from 1966-70. He made four Pro Bowls in those five years and was named All AFL once.

Former Steelers LB claims Pittsburgh lied to him: ‘It hurts'

This article originally appeared on Former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Robert Spillane was a team and fan favorite during his four-year tenure in the Steel City. However, he revealed it wasn't enough to receive another contract, even though he thought one was coming. Spillane joined the Steelers in 2019 and improved his production every year until he became a free agent following the 2022 season. He eventually signed a two-year deal with the Las Vegas Raiders, but that wasn't his ideal scenario. 'Before I went into free agency, [the Steelers] told me, 'Go out, test the market, see what you get. We're gonna offer whatever they give you. We wanna make you a Steeler. We love you,''Spillane said on the Bussin' With The Boys podcast. 'I call them, 'I got an offer from the Raiders. I want to come back, what's the deal?' They were like, 'Good luck, have fun.'' Watch: Drake Maye beats Commanders defense with high-level throw

New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye and wide receiver Kayshon Boutte hooked up for a touchdown during Wednesday's joint practice with the Washington Commanders. It was one of the best plays of the practice. Maye made a perfect back shoulder throw, and Boutte made the adjustment to snag the ball for a touchdown. The Maye-Boutte connection is nothing new. The duo hooked up for several big plays last season as well. Boutte proved to be one of the Patriots' more reliable receivers with 43 catches for 589 yards and three touchdowns. That was a significant improvement from his rookie season, when he caught only two passes for 19 yards. He could look to take on a bigger role on offense in his third NFL season. Hopefully, the early flashes in training camp bode well for the regular season. The Patriots need all of the help they can get at receiver, and so far, even with 11 wideouts on the roster, Boutte has been among the top options for Maye on the practice field.
