Christina Haack Reveals Upset Over ‘Not Great' Divorce Settlement With Josh Hall: ‘I Guess It's Done'
HGTV star has laid bare her upset over her divorce settlement with Josh Hall, hinting that she feels 'screwed' by the agreement that the two of them finally reached—nearly a year after they split.
Haack, 41, has spent the past few months embroiled in a bitter feud with her 44-year-old estranged husband—having split from Hall shortly after they began filming their new HGTV project, 'The Flip Off.'
While their split was hammered out in court, the duo engaged in a very public war of words, with Haack accusing her ex of trying to take her money and her property, allegations that he has vehemently denied.
Finally, on May 2, the embittered exes finalized their split—and Haack has now shed some light on the lengthy and unhappy process to reach a settlement, while hinting that she is less than content with the results.
While speaking on SiriusXM's 'Jeff Lewis Live,' she confessed to host Jeff Lewis that she 'signed something' to be rid of the drama with her ex for good.
'I signed something. There's like a process after the process. It was resolved in mediation after, I think, 12 hours,' she explained.
When Lewis asked the home pro if she was happy with how the settlement turned out, she noted that she wasn't interested in divulging all the details.
'I heard a saying once, like, if you both think you're screwed … I don't know how it goes,' she said. 'Look, it's not great, but I guess it's done.'
Co-host Shane Douglas clarified the phrase: 'If both parties are equally unhappy after the negotiation, then you got what you want.'
Although the details of the settlement haven't been revealed, Haack teased that she will stop by Lewis' show again when they become public record.
After the settlement on May 2, a rep for Haack told Us Weekly, 'Christina is pleased to confirm that a settlement has been reached through mediation. She extends her sincere appreciation to her attorney, Laura Wasser, and her team for their professional guidance and support throughout the process.'
The HGTV star also praised her legal team on her social media.
'You are all a true class act. I loved watching you in action and how you handle everything and everyone with class and grace. I appreciate you all beyond words. I have learned so much under your guidance,' Haack said on her Instagram Story.
The settlement came as a shock to fans and Haack, who previously lamented the ongoing legal proceedings during an appearance on the show 'Jeff Lewis Has Issues.'
'We're not even close [to a settlement]. We're going to be going to trial, I hear. It's going to be fun. Can't wait,' she said.
She claimed that Hall asked the court to force her to pay his legal fees, noting that she has not yet been 'ordered' to do so but that she has been supporting him financially.
The court hasn't 'ordered me yet, but he's been asking me [for money],' she said. 'I've already had to give a little something, but then he bought a Bentley. I gave him money to live, and he bought a Bentley, but he also doesn't have a job, so …'
According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, Haack asked that neither she nor Hall pay spousal support, adding that she wanted her ex to pay her lawyer fees.
On the flip side, Hall requested spousal support and asked Haack to pay his lawyer fees.
In response to Haack's interview rant about him, Hall issued a withering response via his spokesperson, accusing Haack of being 'obsessed' with him and alleging that she 'knows nothing' about what is going on in his life.
'It's sad Christina must resort to low blows about her ex Josh to promote her new show,' the statement read, before bizarrely going on to quote a Mariah Carey song. 'She should focus on her new boyfriend and stop talking about Josh. As the great Mariah Carey once sang, 'Why you so obsessed with me?' We wish Christina the best.
'Christina knows nothing about Josh's life, and it's sad she keeps speculating. Her accusations are baseless.'
Sharing a screenshot of the statement on her Instagram account, Haack vented her fury: 'I just threw up in my mouth. Quoting a Mariah Carey song is a new low … even for you,' she wrote. 'Trust me idgaf about Josh's life. I do however care about his bts tactics. Narcissism at its finest.'
Haack seemed to put their feud behind her when she debuted her new relationship with in January.
She went 'Instagram official' with Larocca by sharing images of their romantic getaway on a private jet—just days after she opened up about her bitter divorce from Hall in her latest HGTV show.
Haack shared images from their whirlwind trip, one of which showed her perched on 52-year-old Larocca's lap inside the plane, both of them holding glasses of Champagne while beaming for the camera.
In another snap, Haack and Larocca—who is the CEO of Network Connex—embraced each other as they struck a pose in front of the jet. She captioned the images: 'Some plane flights must be hard posted.'The Driveway Could Be Your Home's Ultimate Selling Point That You're Overlooking

Ohio again examines funding police pensions
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A conversation about increasing contributions to the state's Police and Fire Pension Fund is starting up again at the Ohio Statehouse. 'Those men and women who have worked their whole lives to protect our communities, we should be protecting their pension and making sure that their pension is solid when they go to retire,' Rep. Thomas Hall (R-Madison Township) said. 'It's very easy to say that this will be the largest unfunded mandate placed on local governments that the legislature has proposed, and we hope that they rethink this,' Ohio Municipal League Executive Director Kent Scarrett said. Ohio Dems propose 'Love Makes a Family Week' to counter 'Natural Family Month' House Bill 280 is very similar to a bill introduced in the last general assembly. Under the bill, the amount of money a local government contributes to the fund would, within five years, increase from 19.5% to 24% for police officers. Firefighters are already at 24%. 'At a time when there are workforce shortages in the fire industry and in the police industry, this is a step that we feel like we could help people go to choose to come a police officer or a fire fighter,' Hall said. 'Knowing that they have stability, knowing that they have a stable pension system in place for when they go to retire one day.' While Hall said this is an important step, increasing that contribution amount does not come cheap. 'You often hear municipalities, they say, 'Well, we don't have the money for this, this is going to be a substantial strain on the local governments,'' Hall said. 'I think that they do have the money for that. I think that if first responders are truly a priority, they will have the funds necessary to approve this.' If enacted, the bill would cost local governments nearly $82 million statewide. Scarrett said that eventually, it is going to mean bad news for Ohioans. Intel executive explains why Ohio plant will need to fight for Intel's business 'It ultimately lands on the taxpayer,' he said. 'Weathering these increases on the existing constrained budgets would really force communities to look at reducing services, cutting services, possibly going to the voters and asking for a higher contribution in their tax rate.' Scarrett said local governments are 'already operating under tight budgets.' He said not only might this bill mean higher taxes or a reduction in services, but he also said that for some local governments, it could mean disbanding their police department altogether. 'Especially our smaller communities, villages that are really on a shoestring, they may not be able to support their police departments going forward with this unfunded mandate,' he said. Hall said, though, there is an extra layer to the bill that is important this time around. He noted new actuarial work, done by a third party, to explain why and how the increase should be made. 'I think that the goal with the third party was to say, 'Hey, it's not just the police and fire saying we want more money, or we need more money with our pensions,'' Hall said. 'We've been saying all along we need this, now we need the third party, who has run the numbers, who has tried to explain it on their side of things, the non-bias side of things.' Daughter searching for answers after father killed on motorcycle in South Linden hit-and-run 'There's no other pension fund that allows a board action to automatically increase the employer contribution because of a report that is initiated by the board,' Scarrett said. 'More egregious is there is no municipal representative on the [Ohio Police and Fire Fund] board.' What are the odds this bill passes? Last general assembly, it came close, but ultimately failed in the 11th hour. This year, Ohio House Speaker Matt Huffman (R-Lima) said it may not even make it to the Ohio Senate. He said, in general, he is opposed to the idea that the legislature should be working on a bill like this at all. 'I don't think legislatures, by and large, that meet every two years, determine budgets and do other things, should be and are really very capable of making 30-year decisions in a piece of legislation,' Huffman said. Huffman said that at the very least, the issue will likely not be determined before June 30, which is when lawmakers break for the summer. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
