Feyenoord want Van Persie as permanent Priske replacement
The Danish boss left in mutual circumstances back on the 10th of February and has since been replaced by former Feyenoord player Pascal Bosschaart as interim manager.
Currently, Van Persie is in his first season in Friesland. Before that, he worked as a striker coach and managed Feyenoord's Under 18s. In 2024, he obtained his UEFA Pro diploma.
Van Persie, of course, started his football playing career at Feyenoord. He then played for Arsenal, Manchester United and Fenerbahçe, before returning to De Kuip in 2018 to end his career. Van Persie played 102 international matches for the Dutch national team, scoring fifty goals.
His son Shaqueel also remains in the club's youth ranks and stands as one of many connections between the manager and Feyenoord.

Trans darts thrower speaks out against federation barring biological males from women's competition
The World Darts Federation ruled earlier this week that female competitions will not allow biological males who are transgender women. One trans dart thrower spoke out against the decision in a lengthy Instagram post, calling it a "loss for the trans community in sports." "This past Monday, the WDF (World Darts Federation) released a new policy regarding gender eligibility. I want to take a moment to respond. This decision does affect me personally — though, thankfully, not too severely at this point in time. But still, it hurts," Noa-Lynn van Leuven wrote. "Once again, it's a loss for the trans community in sports. And that breaks my heart. As a trans person in the darts world, I know how vital inclusion is — not just on paper, but in practice." Van Leuven added that "fairness" is coming at the expense of "exclusion." "It's disheartening to see yet another policy framed around 'fairness' that ultimately results in exclusion, without truly considering the people behind the labels. My heart goes out to all the athletes impacted by this. We remain visible. We keep going," van Leuven wrote. Van Leuven twice reached the WDF Dutch Open semifinals in 2023 and 2024 but has since moved to the Professional Darts Championship circuit. Van Leuven has won six women's PDC titles. Two of van Leuven's former Dutch teammates resigned upon van Leuven joining the PDC. Last year, British female darts player Deta Hedman refused to play van Leuven in a WDF event. Van Leuven has also participated in open events, featuring both biological men and women. PDC exec Matt Porter said in November he believed the organization's policy on trans throwers is "fair" and had no plans of changing the rules despite the U.K. Supreme Court's decision on defining the terms "man," "woman" and "sex."

Max Verstappen confirms he will stay at Red Bull next season, ending speculation over near future
Max Verstappen has confirmed he will remain with Red Bull for the 2026 Formula One season, ending speculation over his future with the team for the time being. Where the Dutch driver would be plying his craft next season has been the subject of much speculation for months, with Verstappen being heavily linked with Mercedes despite having a contract with Red Bull until 2028. But the four-time reigning world champion ended the talk over his short-term future, confirming that he'll remain with Red Bull next year while speaking ahead of this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix. 'Some people just like to stir the pot, some people just like to create drama. But, for me, it's always been quite clear, and also for next year,' Verstappen told reporters on Thursday, per the Associated Press. 'I'm discussing with the team already the plans – the things that we want to change for next year, so that means that I'm also staying with the team for next year.' This season has been one of big change at Red Bull already, with long-time team principal Christian Horner being fired earlier this month after 20 successful years with the team. Despite speculation Verstappen might leave, Horner had remained steadfast in his belief that the 27-year-old would stay with the team. Horner's assertions did little to stop the rumor mill though, with questions over Verstappen's future not dissipating amid reported interested from Mercedes. Those rumors were fueled when the yachts of Verstappen and Mercedes boss Toto Wolff were spotted near one another in Sardinia, although the Dutchman was quick to shoot down speculation. 'If my boat is next to Toto's, then the boat is next to Toto's,' Verstappen said on Thursday. 'You can have a personal relationship with someone even if you don't have a working relationship with someone.' But he has now put an end to any possible move, confirming his place with Red Bull in 2026. On the track, it's been an underwhelming F1 season for both the driver and Red Bull. Verstappen currently sits third in the drivers' championship standings, 81 points behind leader Oscar Piastri of McLaren, while Red Bull sits in fourth place in the constructor's standings behind McLaren, Ferrari and Mercedes.
