Casey Anthony's progressive TikTok advocacy blasted by parents' lawyer: ‘They don't need her'
The former attorney for the parents of "America's most hated mom," Casey Anthony, slammed her new TikTok series where she claims she will discuss legal issues and "advocate" for her daughter, Caylee, whom she was accused of killing in 2008.
Brad Conway represented Cindy and George Anthony after Caylee, 2, was found dead in Florida in 2008. Anthony was accused of killing her daughter, but blamed her parents for Caylee's death.
"For those of you who don't know, my name is Casey Anthony," Anthony said in her first TikTok video. "My daughter is Caylee Anthony. My parents are George and Cindy Anthony. This is not about them. This is not in response to anything that they have said or done.… The whole point of this is for me to begin to reintroduce myself."
Conway told NewsNation that Anthony opining on TikTok and Substack is a stunt and for "attention and money."
"She talks about wanting to be a legal advocate, about using her infamy, you know, to help others. You know, poor Casey, you know, rising above the ashes to help other people. But that's not at all what it's about, because there she is talking about George and Cindy and Caylee. And that's the hook for people," Conway said.
Anthony, now 38, was accused of killing her 2-year-old daughter in 2008 but has alleged that her father is the real perpetrator.
"People want to know what really happened to Caylee Anthony, and they want to know," Conway said. "She blamed her father, criminally, implicated him in the death of her daughter, and so she says it's not about them, but she makes sure to let you know that she might address it anyway, and that's what brings people in, because that's what they want to know."
A jury found Anthony guilty of lying to law enforcement but not guilty of first-degree murder, aggravated manslaughter and aggravated child abuse after a monthlong trial in 2011. Caylee's death remains unsolved.
During her first TikTok video, Anthony said people will be able to email her directly about "legal issues" via her Substack, where she frequently publishes blog posts. Anthony added that she decided to start the new video series after people "close to" her were "targeted and attacked recently."

"As a proponent for the LGBTQ community, for our legal community, women's rights, I feel that it's important that I use this platform that was thrust upon me and now look at as a blessing as opposed to the curse that it has been since 2008," Anthony said.
"I am proverbially standing in the light, embracing this piece, still going to keep my privacy intact… and I will explain in great detail why it's so important for people to protect their privacy.… With the current climate in our country especially, it's that much more important."
Conway added that "hiring Casey Anthony to give you legal advice or be your legal advocate is like punching a hole in your boat to get a better breeze."
Conway said Casey has nothing to offer the LGBTQ community despite all her antics.
"There are hordes, leagues of lawyers and wonderful advocates out there to help this community. Casey Anthony is not one of them. They don't need her," Conway said.

Shameless fans buzzing as East Lancashire star make hilarious TikTok debut
Shameless fans are celebrating after one of the show's most iconic stars, Alice Barry, made her hilarious debut on TikTok. The Burnley actress is known for playing Lillian Tyler, a fan-favourite character who owned a brothel on Shameless' Chatsworth estate. Alice's first video has, at the time of writing, amassed more than 500,000 views. In it, she gets into the character of Lillian as she gets 'set up on TikTok'. In the video the former St Mary Magdalene's RC Primary School pupil said: 'TikTok!? We aren't going to get any money out of TikTok. I thought it was OnlyFans.' As well as skits, she has also answered questions left by fans. One TikTok user asked her how she landed the Shameless job. Alice, who still lives in Burnley, said: 'When I went for the audition, it was for a nun. We did the audition and it went well. 'Paul Abbott [creator of Shameless] said 'you were very good but you haven't got the part... but I would like you to come in on Shameless as Lillian, I think you'd be alright'.' Alice, a former Coal Clough Secondary School pupil, said it's great that so many people still love the Channel 4 show despite ending in 2013, adding that it may have garnered a younger fanbase since being added to Netflix. Alice, who grew up in Haslam Street in Gannow Top, has promised fans more Shameless content and skits in the future. She said: 'It is still on and people are still watching it on Netflix. It's great that the show still has such a strong fan base. 'Wherever I go people still recognise me. If I go for a night out, people still want photographs, which I don't mind. 'I was on Shameless for all of those years, and it was a really good experience.' As well as TikTok, Alice has also launched a Cameo page, where fans can request personalised video messages. Alice, who is in her 70s, said she also has meet and greets planned, including one on June 28 at The Heartbeat Vehicle Rally in Goathland. Swalwell calls for Noem to resign following Padilla incident
Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) called for Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem to resign after Sen. Alex Padilla (D-Calif.) was forcibly removed and later handcuffed at her Thursday press conference in Los Angeles. 'Kristi Noem should resign for what has happened under her watch. No one asked for this. We were promised violent criminals would be deported. Instead, they deported a four-year-old American citizen battling cancer, they arrested a US Marshal over the weekend, a US citizen and now a US senator, the second member of Congress in 45 days, who's been arrested,' Swalwell said in a brief interview with NewsNation on Thursday. 'No one asked for this. It's chaos, and her agents are running around, masked like 1800-bank robber you know, suspects or the KGB officers in Russia. This is not what America looks like. So she should come to Congress. They should take the masks off, and they should stop terrorizing families,' the House Democrat told NewsNation's Joe Khalil. The Trump administration fired back at Swalwell, with the White House communications director Steven Cheung writing Thursday on X that the lawmaker is 'spewing lies because he's an absolute joke of a person who is unserious about his job. These are the rantings of either a madman or a puppet.' Padilla tried to question Noem at a Thursday press conference. The senator identified himself and walked up to the front of the room to try and question the DHS secretary. Agents then grabbed and pushed him away. He was pushed through the door, forced to the ground and handcuffed. The incident has infuriated Democrats in both chambers of Congress, with others, including Padilla's seatmate Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), also calling for Noem to resign. 'He had every right as a member of the United States Senate to talk and be at an event that was open to the public and the press. Instead, he was manhandled by law enforcement, forced to the ground and handcuffed. This is an outrage,' Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.) said on Thursday. The White House accused Padilla of seeking attention. 'Padilla embarrassed himself and his constituents with this immature, theater-kid stunt — but it's telling that Democrats are more riled up about Padilla than they are about the violent riots and assaults on law enforcement in LA,' White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson said in a statement. Padilla, later on Thursday, said that 'if this is how this administration responds to a senator with a question, I can only imagine what they're doing to farmworkers, to cooks, to day laborers out in the Los Angeles community and throughout California and throughout the country.' DHS said in a statement that the California senator 'was told repeatedly to back away and did not comply with officers' repeated commands.'
