In separate communications, forest range officer Dr K Srinivas Reddy of Ibrahimpatnam pointed out that drainage water, reportedly flowing from colonies such as Hariharapuram, BN Reddy Nagar, Sripuram Colony, and the Sagar Complex, has turned nearly 90 acres of protected forest land into sewage pools. "This discharge of untreated drainage/sewage water into the protected forest area is causing severe ecological damage," Dr Reddy wrote in a letter addressed to the general manager of HMWSSB.
The letter cites violations under multiple environmental and forest laws, including the Forest (Conservation) Act and the Environment (Protection) Act.

Residents of the nearby Hariharapuram Colony have lodged complaints about mosquito menace and stench. Locals claim that peacocks and rabbits which once inhabited the forest have fled the area, and allege that some birds and animals have died after consuming contaminated water.

The drain along the colony's retaining wall has become a pond. Mosquitoes increased and wildlife is vanishing."

In a letter addressed to GHMC's LB Nagar zonal commissioner dated July 29, the forest department cited ongoing litigation concerning the land.
The department has demanded the immediate cessation of sewage discharge, the restoration of damaged land and water bodies, and disclosure of responsibility. Notices have been served to HMWSSB, GHMC, and Badangpet Municipality.

Jaipur: The state forest department is set to airlift tigers from Madhya Pradesh in a phased interstate relocation, beginning in October and expected to conclude by December. This will be Rajasthan's second helicopter-based tiger translocation, but the first to be done interstate. The first took place successfully in 2008, when a male tiger was flown by helicopter from Ranthambore National Park to Sariska Tiger Reserve. However, that operation was not interstate. The decision was taken during a meeting held on Wednesday at the Parliament House office in the presence of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Union minister for environment and forests Bhupender Yadav, and senior forest officials, including Anand Kumar, additional chief secretary of the forest department, and chief wildlife warden Shikha Mehra. A state official said, "Seven tigers—including both males and females—will be translocated to Mukundra Hills Tiger Reserve in Kota and Ramgarh Vishdhari Tiger Reserve in Bundi."
