Texas A&M volleyball ranked No. 3 in SEC coaches' poll, earns multiple preseason honors
The Aggies enter this season ranked third in the Southeastern Conference coaches' poll, with two members of this year's roster also named to the 2025 Preseason All-SEC Team. Logan Lednicky and Ifenna Cos-Okpalla added another honor to their list of accomplishments, as both were announced to the league's list on Tuesday afternoon.
This marks Lednicky's third consecutive preseason award and Cos-Okpalla's second consecutive season securing the honors, given to just 15 athletes across the SEC before the new season begins.
Lednicky recorded the second-highest kills per set total (4.47) and third-highest kill total (492) in a single season in the program's history last season in an impressive junior year showing. At the same time, Cos-Okpalla led the team with 161 blocks and averaged 1.46 blocks per set, which ranked second and third.
The SEC's preseason voting placed the Aggies in third with 195 points and one first-place vote among the 16 teams in the conference. Following Texas A&M's record-breaking 2024 campaign, which featured the program's highest win total since 2019, 11 players return to Morrison's squad this season. On the recruiting trail, the Aggies also brought in the No. 7 recruiting class in the country.

Following a NCAA Tournament run that ended with the Aggies reaching the team's first Sweet 16 since 2019, Morrison will look to lead his program back to the promised land this season. With a roster loaded with talent and experience, the program in College Station could be at the apex of the SEC in 2025.

Former Oregon Ducks WR Ryan Pellum commits to play for DeSean Jackson at Delaware State
Former Oregon Ducks wide receiver Ryan Pellum has reportedly found a new home after entering the transfer portal last year and leaving Eugene. According to On3's Pete Nakos, Pellum is transferring to Delaware State, where he will play for DeSean Jackson and the Hornets. Pellum announced his transfer back in January of this year. He was one of four wide receivers in his class to enroll at Oregon, and he was rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 145 player and No. 26 WR in the 2024 class. As a freshman, Pellum played just 11 snaps, eight of which were on special teams. Not long after announcing his transfer from Oregon, Pellum was arrested on charges of aggravated assault using a semi-automatic firearm and discharging a gun on Christmas night in East Long Beach that sent a man to the hospital. He pleaded not guilty to these charges. Pellum will now be a name to know at Delaware State, where Jackson will coach his first year in 2025. In 2024, Jackson completed his first year as a football coach, working with the staff at Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach, Calif. Now he is taking over an FCS school and looking to lead Delaware State to success in the MEAC. Should he be able to do that, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Jackson move up the coaching ranks and become a hot name in the FBS world. Steelers' Aaron Rodgers gets into heated exchange with rookie Kaleb Johnson
Tensions were fiery on the final day of Steelers training camp — and the outspoken 20-year veteran QB Aaron Rodgers finally showed off some of the tough love he's been known to possess throughout his career. On Tuesday, sideline reporters spotted Rodgers having some choice words for rookie RB Kaleb Johnson — who ran the wrong route in practice, leaving the Steelers quarterback upset. "It wasn't some hushed sideline chat," one practice attendee remarked, via "You could see Rodgers' body language from across the field." Rodgers is no stranger to voicing his frustrations and holding his teammates accountable — such as the "red line incident" with WR Mike Williams on the Jets, perhaps his most infamous example. Steelers OLB Alex Highsmith injured at training camp, HC Mike Tomlin gives update
Another injury has struck the Pittsburgh Steelers at training camp. Following Sunday's practice at training camp, HC Mike Tomlin revealed to reporters that OLB Alex Highsmith had suffered a groin injury. "The only new injury to mention, Alex Highsmith didn't finish," Tomlin said. "Don't know the severity of it. Over here on the one-on-one pass rush, he stopped. He said he felt, maybe his groin, but we'll evaluate it and be more definitive next time we talk — not only about the injury but the significance of it." Highsmith has previously dealt with several groin injuries in his career, missing one game in 2021 and three games in 2024. Hopefully, his groin injury isn't as serious this go-around, but the Steelers do boast incredible depth behind him — underrated pass rusher OLB Nick Herbig and talented rookie OLB Jack Sawyer.
