Brian Campbell's Partner Kelsi McKee is 'His Rock' Amid John Deere Classic Victory
Brian Campbell capped off a fairytale week at the 2025 John Deere Classic by clinching his second PGA Tour victory of the season and he did it dramatically. The 32-year-old edged out Argentina's Emiliano Grillo in a sudden-death playoff at TPC Deere Run, where on-and-off rain showers added to the tension.

Campbell, a former University of Illinois standout, took home the trophy a decade after missing the cut as an amateur at the same event in 2015. 'It's awesome. I've never had this much support at any golf tournament,' he said. 'What a special event.'
But behind every swing and every clutch putt this season, there's been a steady, calming force walking just outside the ropes Campbell's girlfriend, Kelsi McKee.

A former Texas A&M collegiate golfer and now a published fiction writer, McKee has been instrumental in Campbell's breakout year. The couple first connected in 2019 through a mutual love of golf, navigating long-distance challenges while Campbell battled injuries and fought to regain his PGA Tour card.

McKee's support has gone far beyond cheerleading. With her background in competitive golf, she understands the emotional rollercoaster of the Tour. At the Mexico Open Campbell's first win earlier this year she was seen in tears.
And at the John Deere, she was once again by his side, quietly grounding him through the pressure of a playoff.
Campbell, who moved from 59th to 28th in the FedEx Cup standings, credited McKee post-round, calling her 'his rock.' After years on the Korn Ferry Tour and even contemplating quitting after a disastrous Q-School round, Campbell's resurgence is as much about resilience as it is about love.

DaRon Bland hopes for contract extension before Week 1
The Cowboys are not in talks with star edge rusher Micah Parsons, but they apparently are with cornerback DaRon Bland. Bland said Tuesday his representation has had "some talks" about an extension with the team. He hopes for a deal before the season. "I do, but I'm not here to talk about it really too much," Bland said, via Tommy Yarrish of the team website. "But yeah, hopefully." The Cowboys signed tight end Jake Ferguson to an extension last month, and executive vice president Stephen Jones has indicated the team has other contracts it's working on. Parsons, though, remains in a hold in and has requested a trade with the sides at a stalemate. Bland could be next. He had nine interceptions in an All-Pro season of 2023 and returned a record five for touchdowns, and now, two years later, he's close to a second contract that will set him up for life. "I was the guy that didn't have too many offers out of high school," Bland said. "I had one offer so I went to Sac State, played three years, and then went to Fresno [State] and didn't start until four games into the season. Just stuff like that. Just keep going. You'll never know when your opportunity is going to come."

Teens arrested for Brad Pitt burglary targeted other stars, say LA police
Four teenagers have been arrested over a burglary that left actor Brad Pitt's home ransacked, police said. The suspects are allegedly behind a number of "celebrity burglaries" that targeted the houses of actors and professional athletes, Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell said. He said the male suspects, two 18-year-olds, a 17-year-old and a 16-year-old, are street gang members, and property stolen in the burglaries was found when police searched their homes. Police did not name those whose properties were targeted, but celebrities including Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, LA Dodgers pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto and ex-LA Football Club striker Olivier Giroud have reported break-ins this year. The investigation started in late June after Pitt's home was raided by a trio of masked thieves. McDonnell said the group hopped a perimeter fence surrounding the Los Feliz home and shattered a window, hopping inside and taking items before fleeing. Police did not confirm the home belonged to the Oscar-winning actor, but the address matched that of a property Pitt bought in 2023. The large three-bedroom house sits just outside Griffith Park, where the famous Hollywood Sign sits. It is surrounded by a fence and greenery that shields the property from public view. Pitt was not home at the time of the burglary and was promoting his new film, F1. The BBC has contacted representatives for the actor. McDonnell said investigators found the suspects were part of a crew that "were burglarizing various high-profile residents throughout the city", which he said included homes of "actors and professional athletes". Last week, authorities followed the four suspects and were able to arrest them on burglary charges, he added. Police did not elaborate on what items were recovered after police searched their homes. McDonnell said burglars like this group had become increasingly smart in their crimes - planting surveillance cameras in nearby flowerbeds or across the street from homes they target to monitor a victim's routine. He said thieves had also been using wi-fi jammers to knock out home surveillance systems and cameras that could alert homeowners or police of a break-in. He noted that celebrities and athletes can be easier targets since their appearances and games are publicised online. He noted, though, that anyone posting on social media about their travels can unknowingly be alerting a potential thief to their location. "We don't really give enough thought to... [while] we want our friends to know where we are and what we're doing, you're telling everybody else then who may be looking to exploit your situation," McDonnell said.
