A 15-year-old lad was found injured on Denbeck Street after the alleged late-night attack as officers swarmed the area.
Police scrambled to the scene at around 10.30pm after the alarm was raised over reports of a knife assault.
The boy was found bleeding on the pavement by shocked neighbours who rushed to his rescue while they waiting for emergency services.
The boy was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.
Police have now confirmed that a teenager, also 15, has been charged with attempted murder.
He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court sometime today.
A statement from the force read: "A 15-year-old boy has been arrested and charged in connection with an attempted murder in Glasgow.
"Around 10.30pm on Thursday, 29 May, officers received a report of another 15-year-old male having been found seriously injured in the Denbeck Street area of Glasgow.
"Emergency services attended and he was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, with what were described as serious injuries. He has since been discharged.
"The boy is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday, 5 June, 2025."
Police probing death of 'stabbed' teen Kayden Moy swoop on Scots park
Scores of emergency services descended on the street after the horror unfolded.
There were visible splatters of blood on the pavement the following morning, while CID officers were seen speaking to teenagers near the crime scene.
A mum-of-four, 31, who tried to keep the lad from losing consciousness, told the Scottish Sun she was talking to him to keep him awake.
She said: "I just told him that his mum would come. The police said he was in a bad state.
'It's just crazy what's happening on our streets. I'm worried about my own kids' safety.'
Shettleston councillor Thomas Kerr said the incident was 'heartbreaking and shocking' as fears rise over Scotland's escalating knife crime wave.
He said: 'There is a knife crime epidemic in Scotland.
'Parents should not be scared for their sons or daughters to leave the house. Something needs to change.
'My thoughts are with the young man's family, and I hope he makes a speedy recovery.'
A local mum-of-four, aged 38, warned that 'weans aren't safe to go anywhere'.
She added: 'It seems to be getting worse.'
A gran-of-two, 65, who lives near the scene, said: 'I think it's shocking that there are so many stabbings across Glasgow.
'It seems to be getting out of hand. My granddaughter is around the same age and I'm worried for her safety.'
The latest violence shock comes days after we told how John Swinney was warned his 'weak and reckless' justice system is costing lives amid alarm at a deadly knife crime wave.
Scottish Tories leader Russell Findlay accused the First Minister of 'fuelling youth violence' amid a 'sickening' 600 per cent rise in serious assaults committed by teens in five years.
The Holyrood showdown came after day tripper Kayden Moy, 16, was allegedly stabbed to death at Irvine beach in Ayrshire on May 17.
In a separate incident another teen was allegedly stabbed at Portobello Beach in Edinburgh the day before.
Meanwhile, Scotland's top cop called for a crackdown on violence in schools after we revealed a boy of seven allegedly took a blade into Heathfield Primary in Ayr to attack another pupil.
We also told earlier this week how a 10-year-old lad was threatened with a blade by a tearaway classmate in Kilmarnock.
A boy of the same age was reported to authorities over the incident.
Earlier this month, a 14-year-old thug was locked up for five years for killing Kory McCrimmon, 16, in Glasgow in a fight over £50.
And a group of teenagers are currently facing charges in connection with the death of 15-year-old Glasgow teen Amen Teklay.

‘Crass' cops slammed for playing ‘snog, marry, kill' with mugshots of local call girls and felons

Read on to find out how playing the popular game could land you in trouble COP QUIZ FURY 'Crass' cops slammed for playing 'snog, marry, kill' with mugshots of local call girls and felons Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) LAYING 'snog, marry, avoid' with colleagues at work could be sexual harassment, a tribunal has ruled. The 'crass' and 'inappropriate' game may breach the Equality Act, an Employment judge said. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up The risqué quiz involves naming three people and then asking a person to pick which one you would like to kiss, which one you would get married to and which one you would steer clear of altogether. In the BBC hit comedy Gavin and Stacey, Pam, Mick, Gavin and Smithy played a version of it featuring celebrities during a car ride from Essex to Wales. However, the tribunal found it may break workplace laws. The ruling came in the case of a police officer who sued Derbyshire Police after a female colleague involved him in the game — using mugshots of sex workers. The officer candidly admitted to the tribunal that she had 'jokingly' played the game with co-workers and included PC Shafarat Mohammed in their discussion. PC Mohammed claimed that during the discussion in May or June 2022 he was only shown images of black women and was asked what he liked about one of them. He said he was 'embarrassed' and 'offended' by the questioning and felt it was inappropriate. The tribunal judge said: 'We agree that the questions were inappropriate.' However, the tribunal found there was no racial or religious element to it as the sex workers were of varying ethnicities. PC Mohammed lost his case for racial and religious discrimination and harassment. Two top cops accused of mocking a colleague's Irish accent in 'grossly offensive' leaving video

Gynaecologist who raped dozens of patients & secretly filmed examinations for almost 20 years is jailed in Norway

A harrowing total of 94 women testified during the trial DOCTOR JAILED Gynaecologist who raped dozens of patients & secretly filmed examinations for almost 20 years is jailed in Norway Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A DOCTOR who raped dozens of patients and secretly filmed examinations for almost two decades has been jailed in Norway. A court on Friday sentenced Arne Bye, 55, to 21 years in prison in a case that has shocked the Scandinavian country. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 3 A court on Friday sentenced Arne Bye, 55, to 21 years in prison 3 Grim video footage was recovered in the police probe 3 Cameras had been set up in his examination room Former GP Bye was found guilty of committing 70 counts of rape and sexual assault during gynecological examinations of his patients between 2004 and 2022. He was also condemned for 80 instances of abuse of his position as a doctor. Close to all of the offences occurred during medical examinations that Bye carried out on his patients whilst working as a physician at his medical practice in the small town of Frosta in central Norway. The court in the city of Trondelag banned Bye from exercising his medical profession indefinitely and demanded he financially compensate his victims. A harrowing total of 94 women testified during the trial, describing how wicked Bye committed multiple acts of non-consensual touching and digital penetration without medical justification. The acts all constitute rape under Norwegian law. Addressing the court on Friday, Judge Espen Haug reportedly said: "The suspect's actions make this case an extremely serious one. The actions are unacceptable. "The defendant's actions happened in a place and setting where people are supposed to feel safe. "His actions have undermined public trust in the health service as well as doctors in general." The 55-year-old defendant stood up and appeared calm as the maximum sentence was handed to him. France's 'worst paedophile ever' goes on trial as surgeon accused of abusing 299 victims & declaring 'I'm a paedo & proud' The sentence matched the one requested by the prosecution. Bye's defense had argued for lesser sentence, recognising only 20 of the rapes. Bye also filmed the assaults. Cops seized over 6,000 hours of footage during their investigation, including of his gynaecological examinations. Bye was shown to have inserted a "deodorant-like", "bottle-like" and a cylindrical object into the women - with no medical reason for doing so. One woman, speaking to the court last November, said: "I thought I was going to die". Another unnamed woman said she had gone in to her GP's office for a sore throat - before being given one of the invasive examinations. She told how she ended up in her underwear on a bench, saying: "I thought that he is my doctor, so I did as he said." The indictment against Bye says the alleged assaults "happened quickly and unexpectedly" during the examinations. Concerns were raised about him as long ago as 2006 - by another doctor in the gynaecology ward at a local hospital. One of Bye's patients, who was there for further treatment, said her doctor had massaged her genitals during the exam. Bye was able to keep his job until the following year when charges were filed.
