Louis Tomlinson whisks Zara McDermott away on romantic getaway

Daily Mirror13-05-2025

Louis Tomlinson has reportedly flown Zara McDermott 5,000 miles to a holiday hotspot, where the pair are said to be enjoying a romantic holiday amid their busy schedule
Zara McDermott is off on a romantic holiday, thanks to her new boyfriend, One Direction's Louis Tomlinson. It is claimed that Zara has flown off for a romantic getaway with her new beau. Insiders revealed that One Direction star Louis splashed out thousands of pounds to fly Zara 5,000 miles to join him while he's working on his upcoming album.
It would mark Louis' first record since his 2022 album, Faith In The Future, which landed at Number One on the Official Charts Company. They are believed to be staying in a secluded villa on the coast in Santa Teresa.

A source shared: "Louis and Zara are going from strength to strength." He had his team arrange her first-class travel from London to Costa Rica over the weekend. This meant Zara couldn't attend the TV BAFTAS, but she is eager to spend as much time with Louis as possible.

A source told The Sun: "He's been in Costa Rica for a few weeks recording his album and is keen to show her the sights." In a few weeks, Louis will return to the UK for Soccer Aid, participating in the annual charity match at Old Trafford.
However, insiders said Zara won't be heading to the stadium to cheer him on. It's not surprising, considering her ex, Sam Thompson, will also be playing. A friend shared: "It will be awkward enough for Louis and Sam, let alone if Zara went. She has no desire to make things about herself and won't be attending. She will be cheering Louis on from home."
It was first revealed that the unlikely pair were an item in March, after a series of low-key dates in the UK. Last month, Zara flew out to join Louis in Malibu before the pair returned to the UK. They proved they were just like any other couple when seen shopping in his local Sainsbury's.
This comes after Sam recently broke his silence about his Zara dating Louis. The former I'm a Celebrity winner is set to play on the same Soccer Aid team as the singer next month in aid of UNICEF. And Sam, who today launched a 260-mile endurance challenge for the charity, told the Mirror how he'd heard that Louis was a 'great bloke.'

He said: 'I've never met Louis, but the moment I see him, I'll be like, 'mate, how amazing is this what we're doing, and hopefully we can make as much money as possible'. And I imagine - from what I hear, is a really lovely bloke - I imagine the reply will be exactly the same.'
Sam, who split from Zara four months ago and is now dating Samie Elishi, added: 'It's a charity football game and everyone will have a smile on their face....everybody is doing it for a cause that is far beyond relationships and who's hooking up with who and all that kind of stuff. Football brings everyone together."
Things are heating up for Sam, too, as the former Made in Chelsea star was photographed enjoying a passionate kiss with Samie Elishi, another Love Island alumnus. It's believed to be Sam's first public romance since his shock split from Zara earlier this year - and a source tells us his ex is actually happy with the new development. 'Even though Sam and Zara's relationship ended a long time before they officially split up, Sam did feel a bit like he had egg on his face,' an exclusive source tells OK!.
'He knew it had been over for a while, but of course seeing his ex move on with a member of one of the world 's most successful boy bands ever is a little bit different to the norm. She's hit the jackpot!", they add. 'Zara understandably doesn't want to be seen as the villain, and it's not easy when you're the first to move into a new relationship. If this news stops people thinking of Sam as a victim, especially after she cheated on him when they were together, she's happy.'

Fans spot glaring detail in Terri and Steve Irwin's wedding photo as they mark huge marriage milestone

Terri Irwin has shared a heartfelt tribute to her late husband Steve to mark what would have been their 33rd wedding anniversary — and fans are all saying the same thing. The Irwin matriarch, 60, posted a precious throwback photo to social media on Wednesday, which captured her and Steve at their wedding ceremony in 1992. She looked radiant in a classic, long-sleeved ivory gown with lace detailing and a crown of flowers in her curled hair. Meanwhile, Steve looked dashing in a black tailored tuxedo paired with a white shirt and black bow tie. Terri captioned the photo with some heartfelt words: 'Today, 33 years ago, Steve and I were married in my grandmother's church in Oregon. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'It was the first day of my happily ever after. Every day I wake up with beautiful memories, so much love in my heart and the promise of continuing his incredible legacy. I am truly blessed.' Fans went wild over the adorable photo and took to the comment section to point out one glaring detail - just how much Steve's son Robert looks like him. The I'm A Celebrity... co-host is the spitting image of his late father, with his strapping physique, upbeat demeanour, beach blonde hair and cheeky grin. 'My god doesn't Robert look just like him!! Happy anniversary!' one person wrote. 'For a split second I thought Steve was Robert. They're twins! Happy Anniversary!' a second added. 'It's seeing young Steve and realising how much Robert really looks like his dad!' a third chipped in and a fourth added: 'I thought this was Robert for a moment! What a beautiful couple.' Robert was born in December 2003 and was just two years old when his father Steve tragically died in September 2006, after being struck by a stingray while filming on the Great Barrier Reef. It was Steve's father, Bob, who built the iconic Australia Zoo from the ground up in 1970 and passed it on to his late son and his wife Terri in 1992. Last month, Terri opened up about her life together with her late husband. In a recent interview, an emotional Terri shared details about her 14-year marriage to the famed conservationist and admitted she wishes he was still here. 'I think the best part [of our marriage] was just the fun and the adventure,' Terri told Us Weekly magazine. 'Steve was probably the most spontaneous person. Everyone says live every day to its fullest, but we never quite do that every day. 'And Steve really, really did. I think there really isn't a word in our language for the opposite of a procrastinator, but that was Steve. He was such a "do it now guy".' Elsewhere in the chat, the grandmother celebrated her children Bindi, 26, and Robert, 21, as well as her four-year-old granddaughter Grace Warrior.

Horse racing tips: ‘She won't be caught quick out the gate' – Templegate's 7-2 NAP

TEMPLEGATE tackles Wednesday's racing confident of bashing the bookies and building the pot for Derby weekend. Back a horse by clicking their odds below. THUNDEROUS LOVE (3.22 Nottingham, nap) She made a cracking start to the season with a win on the sand at Southwell before following up nicely here two runs ago. Her hat-trick bid was thwarted by a shockingly slow start at Salisbury which gave her little chance. She's usually better away at the stalls and can get back on track with a speedier start in this modest race. MR JETMAN (7.22 Ripon, nb) He was impressive when scoring over course and distance 17 days ago. He has never been out of the frame at this Yorkshire track and should be right there again. RIDE THE THUNDER (4.55 Nottingham, treble) Has been second on all three starts and can go one better. He shapes as though this step up in distance will suit. ORIONIS (6.50 Ripon) Looks good for the Lucky 15. She took a fair step forward when second at Chester last time and looks ready to win for William Haggas. Terry was a British icon and his loyal wife of 51 years stood by his side throughout his entire life. Terry died in 2016 at the age of 77 whilst Lady Helen passed away last year, leaving a huge sum in her will. She died last year at the age of 88, leaving behind three children, who will now inherit her fortune. ‌ In a statement at the time of her death, their son wrote at the time: "Lady Helen Wogan - 1936-2024. Our beautiful Mum left us last night after a fantastic life. From a young Irish rose to Lady Wogan , she was the epitome of style and grace. ‌ "A Mother, Grandmother and Wife, with love and kindness at her core. A strength and a belief that saw her through many of life's trials. A sense of humour and a turn of phrase that would have you in fits of laughter. "A proper lady in every sense of the word. Her and Dad are hopefully sharing a vodka martini and hoping we don't make too much of fuss. We love you Mum, now and forever." Lady Helen left a huge £4,948,334 in her will, with the total being reduced by £31,000 to £4,917,989 following the removal of costs and fees, documents signed off by the High Court reveal. It has also been reported by The Sun that Lady Helen left two tax free gifts to two of her children - £850,000 to her son Alan Wogan, who is an executor, and also £750,000 to their daughter Katherine. Each of Terry and Helen's grandchildren have also been given a £100,000 trust, which they can access when they turn 25. The rest of their possessions and money will be split between their three living children - Mark, Alan and Katherine. Sir Terry Wogan died of cancer back in January 2016. A family statement, issued by the BBC, said at the time: "Sir Terry Wogan died today after a short but brave battle with cancer. He passed away surrounded by his family. While we understand he will be missed by many, the family ask that their privacy is respected at this time." Terry passed away just a few months after his final show on Radio 2, where he announced he had prostate cancer. He pulled out of Children In Need later that month due to health reasons.
