Colts QB Anthony Richardson 'Day-to-Day' With Dislocated Pinky After Scare
Richardson is considered "day-to-day" with a dislocated pinky, NFL Network reported on Friday morning.
The Ravens' pass rusher had a clean run at Richardson, who is competing with Daniel Jones to be the Colts' starting quarterback. After the sack, Richardson jogged to the sideline and was replaced by Jones, who was also at quarterback for the team's next offensive drive.
The plan for Indianapolis prior to the game was for Richardson to start and play 1 1/2 quarters, with Jones playing half a quarter.
Richardson did guide the Colts to a field goal on his first drive. In the end, though, Baltimore won, 24-16.

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has ended his challenge to Troy Aikman's trademark use of the No. 8, according to the Baltimore Sun. Jackson originally filed the challenge in July 2024, and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office said this week that the Ravens quarterback filed to withdraw his challenge on Monday. FL101, the company behind the Aikman products, has several products featuring "EIGHT," including a light beer brand, but Jackson was only disputing the bags and apparel. Aikman responded jokingly on social media following the July 2024 news by telling Jackson, 'Hey Lamar, looks like a worthy conversation over a couple cold EIGHT beers! Maybe Steve Young can arbitrate??' Jackson has been making his own apparel for years under his Era 8 Apparel brand, with products including T-shirts that just have the numeral 8 on them. Jackson has reportedly applied for a number of trademarks around the number, most of them featuring the "Era 8" name. This isn't the first time Jackson has gone to battle over his apparel company, as he filed a lawsuit against Amazon in 2020 over selling unlicensed merchandise featuring his registered trademarks. He also resolved a trademark dispute with Dale Earnhardt Jr. in April after the NASCAR Hall of Famer secured the right to a different No. 8.

Twins owners opt to halt the sale and keep the club in the family, adding new investors instead
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Twins are no longer for sale, executive chair Joe Pohlad announced Wednesday on behalf of his family. After exploring a variety of options over the past 10 months, the Pohlad family will remain the principal owner of the club and add new investors instead. Carl Pohlad, a banking magnate and the late grandfather of Joe Pohlad, purchased the Twins in 1984 for $44 million. 'For more than four decades, our family has had the privilege of owning the Minnesota Twins. This franchise has become part of our family story, as it has for our employees, our players, this community, and Twins fans everywhere," Joe Pohlad said in his announcement. 'Over the past several months, we explored a wide range of potential investment and ownership opportunities. Our focus throughout has been on what's best for the long-term future of the Twins. We have been fully open to all possibilities.' Pohlad said the family was in the process of adding two 'significant' limited partnership groups to bring in fresh ideas, bolster critical partnerships and shape the long-term vision of the franchise that relocated to Minnesota in 1961 after originating as the Washington Senators. Details about the new investors will be kept private until Major League Baseball approval of the transactions, Pohlad said. The Twins are on track for their lowest attendance total in 16 seasons at Target Field, and an ownership-mandated payroll reduction last year, among other factors, has contributed to a dissatisfied customer base. The Twins traded 10 players off their roster leading up to the July 31 deadline, furthering the frustration. Word that the Pohlads are staying put certainly won't help the morale of Minnesota baseball fans, who've been waiting for another World Series title since 1991. LSU football giving Ju'Juan Johnson reps at running back as Tigers look for depth
LSU football is down to just three scholarship running backs after the suspension of JT Lindsey and the departure of Trey Holly. As LSU searches for depth, Ju'Juan Johnson is seeing increased work at running back. Johnson signed with LSU as a four-star recruit in 2024. He excelled as a quarterback in high school, but originally enrolled at LSU as a defensive back. Early in the 2024 season, LSU shifted Johnson to running back. Johnson saw just seven carries for 14 yards while catching five passes for 22 yards and a score. Ahead of spring football, LSU moved Johnson to quarterback. LSU needed depth at the position, and Johnson's speed was something LSU lacked in the quarterback room. Johnson wasn't going to compete for QB1 or even QB2, but LSU was planning some wildcat packages for the talented athlete. Now with LSU facing depth struggles at running back, Johnson is taking hand-offs again. LSU has a clear RB1 with Caden Durham leading the charge. Behind Durham, the Tigers have Harlem Berry and Kaleb Jackson -- both are having strong camps. But LSU is one injury away from being ultra-thin at running back. This is a position where rotations are needed in the SEC. Thanks to Johnson's flexibility, the situation isn't as dire.
