For nearly two weeks, Natalie, 37, and her family endured relentless barking outside their vacation rental in Huyan, Vietnam.
As the noise pierced through the house day and night, keeping her children awake, Natalie was concerned about dogs possibly being mistreated nearby.
The family have been traveling since January and first stayed in this rental weeks earlier when the barking began. "You can't really complain about dogs barking," Natalie, who didn't give surname, told Newsweek. "But I told the owner I was worried. It didn't seem normal."

When approached, the neighbors insisted their dog was fine—caged, but not in distress. With no resolution in sight, Natalie even reached out to local animal welfare groups, worried about the incessant barking.
Two weeks later, the family returned to the same rental and Natalie once again raised concerns with the owner about the dogs. That was when she learned the unexpected truth: it wasn't dogs.
"[The owner] said 'Oh, we spoke to the neighbors again. It's actually frogs,' and I was like, what are they talking about?" Natalie recalled.
Confused, her husband searched online for "barking frog" and to their shock, it was real.

Vietnam is home to the barking tree frog, also known as the Vietnamese mossy frog. This frog is famous not only for its camouflage—its bumpy, green-and-black skin mimics moss-covered rocks—but also for its distinctive barking call, which resembles the yelp of a small dog.
Native to northern Vietnam, especially in humid, mountainous forests and limestone karst landscapes, the barking frog often hides in tree holes or rocky crevices near water.
According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List, these frogs are not currently threatened, but there are concerns. Threats to the frogs include habitat loss because of deforestation, pollution and agricultural expansion and the illegal exotic wildlife trade, where these frogs are highly sought after.
Determined to see the culprits firsthand, Natalie held her phone over the fence—and there they were, tiny frogs, vocalizing nonstop.
"They're absolutely tiny, but they go all day and all night," she said. "I thought it was one dog setting off another, but no—it's frogs! It's so funny. I feel a little embarrassed I contacted all these animal charities, but at least I tried."
The video of the barking amphibians has been viewed over 1 million times on Instagram since being shared earlier this week, where people couldn't believe the loud noise could come from such a small animal.
The video was captioned: "The barking goes on ALL day and ALL night next to where we are staying."
The caption went on to say she "complained" about the dogs next door. Before, as the camera zooms in on the frog, the text reveals: "Here are the 'dogs'."
"Sorry but this is awesome," said one commenter. While another said: "I don't know why but knowing that comes from a frog is like 25x less aggravating."

This Airline Abruptly Shut Down Leaving Caribbean-bound Travelers Completely Stranded—What to Know

Silver Airways suddenly shut down operations. The regional carrier operated flights throughout the Bahamas and Caribbean islands. Travelers will receive automatic refunds, but will need to book their flights on a separate carrier. Travelers visiting the Caribbean should carefully review their upcoming travel airline Silver Airways, which operated local flights through the region, has abruptly shut down all operations. 'We regret to inform you that we are ceasing operations as of today, June 11, 2025,' the airline shared in an Instagram post directed to customers. For passengers who have a scheduled Silver Airways flight, the airline says they should not go to the airport, and credit card refunds will be processed directly to travel agencies and individual credit card holders. Silver Airways announced on Dec. 30, 2024 that it had "voluntarily filed for Chapter 11" bankruptcy protection, and said that all tickets would remain valid. During that process, the airline says it tried finding a buyer, but ultimately had to close. 'Silver entered into a transaction to sell its assets to another airline holding company, who unfortunately has determined to not continue Silver's flight operations in Florida, the Bahamas and the Caribbean,' the airline added in its post to customers. Travelers shared frustration, sharing they were unaware that Silver Airways was facing financial difficulties, and booked a ticket for an upcoming trip, even checking in for the flight successfully the evening before the shutdown. 'No email. No text,' the traveler shared in the social media thread on Reddit. 'I was very much one of those people who showed up at the airport and waited by the gate and realized that no one was there. Insane.'Other travelers shared previous frustration with the airline, saying they were stranded in the Bahamas."Sad day," one traveler shared in a comment on the social media thread about the closure. "I feel bad for all the employees." The airline operated an extensive route network connecting Florida, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, and other Caribbean islands. Frequent visitors to the area may be familiar with Seaborne Airlines, which Silver Airways acquired in 2018. For travelers facing a rebooking situation, many airlines service the route network that Silver maintained. For example, for travelers visiting St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands (STT), American Airlines, Cape Air, JetBlue, Spirit, and United Airlines provide flights to the island. Chaos As Cruise Ship Window Shatters Raining Glass Onto Busy Pool Deck

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Footage capturing the alarming moment a glass panel from a cruise ship restaurant suddenly fell onto a pool deck has captivated viewers on social media. The frightening incident unfolded aboard Royal Caribbean's Symphony of the Seas cruise ship on June 8. The vessel was said to be turning to dock at its first scheduled stop in Port Canaveral, Florida. Tytti Tuliainen, a 40-year-old travel content creator from Finland, shared a view of the glass panel crashing onto the deck, with guests watching from the pool, in a video posted on her YouTube channel @TravelingFinnishGirl. Newsweek has contacted Royal Caribbean by email and @missdiane93 via TikTok for comment. This video has not been independently verified. The YouTuber was having lunch at a restaurant on the ship when she heard the window cracking. Tuliainen told Newsweek: "I was dining in the Coastal Kitchen above the pool deck when it happened." @missdiane93 This happened today on Symphony of the Seas! Great staff member noticed it and cleared the area. ♬ original sound - MissDiane Another view of the scene from the pool deck was captured in a video shared by TikTok user @missdiane93. The clip, which has amassed more than 3.8 million views since it was posted on June 9, shows the glass panel cracking before dropping onto sun loungers by the pool. A man is shown flinching and running away just as the glass drops, with the murmur of alarmed crowds heard in the background. A voice off-camera says: "That would have just hit us." Cruise travel continues to see strong growth in the post-COVID-19 pandemic era. A 2025 report by the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) found that cruise passenger numbers are projected to reach 37.7 million in 2025. Eighty-two percent of cruisers are planning to cruise again, while 68 percent of international travelers are considering going on their first cruise. First-time cruisers were reported to be driving the growth, with 31 percent of passengers in the last two years being new to cruise, according to the CLIA. Users on Reddit also shared posts about the incident, including by u/ Smooth_J24 and u/ireadmorethenpost, who shared an image of staff members examining the site of the shattered glass. Tuliainen said: "When the glass shattered unexpectedly, one of the crew members working in the restaurant—Nitin Kumar—ran down to move people away from under the floor-to-ceiling window. Thanks to his quick response, no one was hurt." The cruise website Cruise Fever said Kumar responded to the incident in a Facebook group created for the cruise trip, saying: "Thank you so much everyone for appreciation, you all are my family, what I did I did for family … what I did I learn from this company how to take care of my guests like family, so thank you so much. Enjoy your vacation." Staff members reportedly responded immediately and passengers reported that "the window is already replaced," with repairs done swiftly, according to Cruise Fever. Tuliainen said: "No one knows why the window broke. Only the outside panel shattered, and there was no impact that anyone saw." The cruise was said to have resumed normal operations, going onto the Bahamas with its return to New Jersey scheduled for June 13. Stock image: A Royal Caribbean cruise ship sails at sea. British couple on Air India flight named

A British couple believed to have been aboard the crashed Air India flight posted about their 'magical experience' in the country. Fiongal and Jamie Greenlaw-Meek, who run a spiritual wellness centre and yoga studio, spoke of their love of India and the 'mind-blowing' experiences they had had just hours before the flight took off. Just after leaving the airport, the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner was engulfed in a huge fireball after plummeting into a building in the suburb of Ahmedabad, the largest city in Gujarat state. The flight, with 242 people, including 53 British nationals, on board was en route to Gatwick airport. Eleven children were among the passengers. On Tuesday, the Greenlaw-Meeks had posted on their social media accounts from their boutique hotel in the city, The House of MG, about how they planned to create a vlog documenting their time in the city and were excited to tell people about the details. Credit: jamiermeek / Instagram Sitting beside his husband, Fiongal said: 'So it's our last night in India and we have had a magical experience, really – there have been some quite mind-blowing things that have happened.' Jamie said: 'We really have been on quite a journey, and then just spending the last night here in this amazing hotel, and we have just had the most delicious Tali food. It was a perfect way to round up the trip. Excited to share it all with you'. Other videos show Fiongal discussing how they were 'feeling very, very, very happy' and showing off the 'treasures' that they had bought before a final video showed them in the airport as the plane was boarding. Credit: @wellnessfoundry / Instagram The couple run The Wellness Foundry in south London and Ramsgate, Kent, which offers psychic readings, tarot, Reiki and yoga. It has collaborated with brands including Dior, Google, and Netflix, according to its website, and was due to offer readings at Ramsgate's Pride march on Saturday. In January, Fiongal appeared on ITV's This Morning to talk about people's auras and what they mean. The couple's Wellness Foundry described it on Instagram as their 'biggest gig so far', adding that it was 'very nerve-wracking' but that Fiongal was 'honoured to chat about one of his favourite topics to such a big audience'. The couple documented their professional and personal lives on social media, advertising 'psychic development' and spiritual retreats in the UK and Spain. They have been together since 2019, getting married in various ceremonies, including one in Las Vegas, in 2022. Jamie posted a series of pictures of their wedding day at Mill Farm in Gamlingay, Cambs, on Facebook, adding that they had made 'so many wonderful memories and fun to last a lifetime'. He added: 'Thank you to my wonderful husband for keeping me calm in times of stress (sunshine after the rain)... My heart is so full of love and gratitude…' Jamie has previously spoken about how he developed a passion for wellness and health when his late father was diagnosed with cancer.
