1 person dead, 1 arrested after downtown London stabbing
Social Sharing London police have arrested one man following a fatal stabbing near the city's downtown core Sunday afternoon. Just after 1 p.m., crews arrived at the intersection of Colborne Street and Princess Avenue where they found an adult man with stab wounds, police said. The man was transported to hospital with serious life-threatening injuries, where he later died, police said. Police learned the suspect fled the area by foot, but he was found a short distance away, and arrested. The suspect remains in custody. Police say there is no threat to public safety. Multiple vehicle crash closes West End intersection Monday, police say
An intersection in Winnipeg's West End is closed after a multi-vehicle crash on Monday. Officers were called to Ellice Avenue and Banning Street just after 9 a.m. A spokesperson for the Winnipeg Police Service told CBC five or six vehicles were involved in a crash. Police said there's no information on injuries at this time. Eastbound and westbound lanes on Ellice Avenue are closed. Traffic between Ingersoll and Burnell streets is also impacted, police said.
