‘I am leaving India': Gurugram man's Reddit post over flooded roads goes viral - ‘I am frightened to take my car out'
Referring to the waterlogged Gurugram road, the man ranted about how the middle class struggles for basic amenities, welfare, and services in the country and said that he was leaving India.
'I have decided to move out of India, coz I don't want to live my life like this. See people struggle and not get the basic amenities, welfare and service,' he wrote in the post.
His detailed rant in a Reddit post has now gone viral.
'I don't understand how people in Gurgaon accept the condition of the roads during the monsoon season. Yesterday night, I saw at least 5 imported cars stranded in the waterlogging, while I crossed them in my car,' the man said.
Finding the concept 'crazy,' the man said he thought rich people/industrialists could influence, pressurise, and press the pain points of the government. 'Yet neither of them has taken any action. How are they accepting these personal losses?'
'While people like us, lower, middle and upper middle class, we just accept the status quo,' he added.
The Redditor shared that he was frightened to take his car out this season, because 'one damage is gonna cost me a hell lot of money'.
'It's not fair that we have to face these issues. At this point, the govt cannot be trusted. Neither the ones in power nor the so-called 'opposition',' he ranted.
Netizens agreed with the man and acknowledged that the situation of Gurugram, a major tech hub of India, is 'pathetic'.
'Honestly, I really can't believe the condition of this so-called major Tech hub. I came here for my internship last month, which is going to be for a year now. I was impressed initially seeing the DLF Phases road, the big Cyberhub location and the glass buildings. But the internal situation is pathetic,' said a social media user.
A netizen pointed out, 'If it rains like crazy, it floods. I've lived in many cities impacted by monsoons, hurricanes, and typhoons. The difference is that you get an advance warning to stay at home, and no one expects you to show up for work.'
'Indian systems just don't care. When you get that much rain that quickly, you're going to get a flood. If you don't clean drains, of course, it floods, but it's unrealistic to expect 0 impact,' he added.

Aboobacker Musliyar, who requested the victim's family to pardon Priya without seeking blood money (diya). A statement issued from Kanthapuram's office expressed hope that the outcome of the discussions may be known soon. Originally from Palakkad district in Kerala, Priya was convicted in 2020 by a Yemeni court for the murder of her business partner, whom she allegedly drugged and killed in July 2017, with the assistance of another nurse. According to Yemeni court documents, she then dismembered his body and disposed of the parts in an underground water tank. Her final appeal was rejected in 2023, and she is currently held at the Central Prison in Sanaa. The Indian government continues to monitor the case, but its capacity to intervene directly remains limited, as India does not currently have an operational embassy in Yemen due to the ongoing civil conflict there. The Supreme Court case, diplomatic appeals and tribal negotiations in Yemen are all unfolding simultaneously in a bid to prevent her execution. Defamation case: RaGa to appear in Lko court today
Lucknow: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi will appear in Lucknow's MP-MLA special magistrate court Tuesday in a case involving allegedly defamatory statements against the Indian Army made by him during his Bharat Jodo Yatra in Lucknow. Rahul's advocate Pranshu Agarwal said after his appearance, bail will be sought from the court. The case was filed by retired BRO director Udai Shanker Srivastava, who alleged that Rahul had made derogatory comments in Lucknow on Dec 16, 2022, days after a face-off between Indian and Chinese troops in Arunachal Pradesh. Rahul had said, "People will ask about Bharat Jodo Yatra... but they will not ask a single question about China capturing 2,000sqkm of Indian land, killing 20 Indian soldiers, and thrashing our soldiers in Arunachal Pradesh... Don't pretend people don't know." Srivastava called the remarks "false and baseless", made with an "evil intention of demoralising the Indian Army and damaging public faith". He cited the Army's official Dec 12 statement, which described the Dec 9 clash in Arunachal as involving "minor injuries to a few personnel from both sides". C'garh cops ‘kidnapped' 8 Nadia workers: Mahua
Kolkata: Eight construction workers from Nadia, engaged by a Chhattisgarh-based private construction agency to work in Bastar's Kondagaon, had been "kidnapped" by Chhattisgarh police on July 12 and put in Jagdalpur prison, Trinamool's Krishnanagar MP Mahua Moitra alleged on Monday. Moitra said the workers' phones were switched off and the families had lost contact with them. The MP said these extra-judicial detentions took place despite the eight having valid Aadhaar and EPIC cards. In a statement on X, Moitra said: "They have been sent to prison under 128 BNSS, earlier 109 CrPC, which allows cops to act if they suspect anyone is hiding to avoid committing a cognizable offence. But the legal provisions stipulated have been completely ignored, no hearings were given. The police detained them on July 12, and now they are in prison."
