People stumped by baffling brainteasers as player guesses 'better than answers'

Daily Mirror09-05-2025

We all hear common sayings every day that we may think little of, but can you guess them when hidden in a brainteaser? These three fun puzzles have got people's minds working overtime
If you want to get your mind ticking, there is no better way to spark your thinking cap than a brainteaser - and these three puzzles have left people baffled. Can you solve them?
We all know the importance of exercising our bodies, but setting aside time to work on our mind is just as important. Brainteasers can boost your cognitive function, and improve your perception skills. Brainteasers can also help improve your memory and concentration skills, as well as help reduce stress and boost your mood by releasing dopamine.

While you may already have a pretty good idea of how your mind works under pressure, a fun quiz could well offer confirmation. People have been left gobsmacked by three brainteasers in which the answers are common saying.

Popular viral quiz master, The Ezz show on TikTok, shared a video of three, fun puzzles. He shared a video, which has raked in over 20 million views, of two women trying to solve them. People insisted that their guesses are "better than then answers".
First up, Ezz showed them a picture a giant, capital A, with the word 'movement' written in small writing on the side of the letter. One of the players immediately suggested it means "a big moment". "A big moment was an excellent guess," the presenter said.
The players also guessed "a moment in time", "a moment out of time", a "side moment", "on a moment", "on a moments notice". The host said he "likes the way" that the pair were thinking. Offering a clue, Ezz said: "You guys are doing great. Say, your son or daughter told you for the first time in your life that they love you...what would that maybe mean?"
The guesser, appearing confused, suggested "a close moment", but it was not the right answering. The host followed up with, "what are those two doing?", which lead the pair to answer "a touching moment", which is the correct answer. A touching moment often refers to a particular point in time that brings out strong emotions and connection.
The next brainteaser, one of the two players guessed straight away. It comes after they were shown an image of history written in large, three times in a row. "History repeats itself," stated the player, who nailed the answer. This saying is often used when people tend to make similar mistakes and experience similar events repeatedly over time. People often use the saying when historical events become prevalent in the modern world.
The final puzzle, which Ezz warned would "get a little harder", showed the word 'collar' written on a card with '249 degrees' written below it. "I don't think the young kids are saying this," Ezz offered as a clue.
One of the players, who did not manage to get the first two puzzles, said: "Hot under the collar", and got it right. Cambridge Dictionary states that this saying is used to refer to someone who is embarrassed or angry about something. For example, if someone made a mistake and you called them out on it, they might get rather 'hot under the collar'.

Dog owners are just finding out what it means when pooch sleeps on your pillow

A common sight in many households, dogs sleeping on pillows may be more than just a comfort-seeking habit, according to a viral TikTok that has left viewers feeling quite emotional Our furry friends certainly love a good rest, with dogs frequently found lounging on pillows – a sight many pet owners know all too well. However, this behaviour isn't solely about seeking comfort; the underlying reason is heartwarmingly sweet. You may assume your pooch curls up on cushions just for a cosy nook, but that's not the whole story. The true reason dogs cuddle into pillows is incredibly touching and is bound to tug at the heartstrings of any dog enthusiast. A TikTok video by @schmools captured this sentiment perfectly, leaving its audience quite moved. The caption stated: "I'll never be the same after reading that dogs sleep on pillows to be comforted by the smell of their owners." ‌ This narrative may seem like it's straight out of a charming storybook, yet there's actual substance behind it. ‌ Specialists assert that canines are attracted to pillows not merely for the plush, raised slumber they afford, but also because the cushions carry the owner's scent, providing comforting familiarity. In snuggling with these pillows, dogs gain a sense of closeness, enhancing their feeling of security and mimicking the sleeping habits of their human companions. Why do dogs sleep on pillows? Mostly, it's the lingering fragrance of their humans on the pillows that provides a consoling essence, soothing any worries they might have and solidifying their bond with the members of their human pack. Pets often imitate their owners' sleeping habits, including the use of pillows, especially when they see humans doing the same. Canines may snuggle up on pillows to feel near and secure with their owners, which helps to build a stronger connection. ‌ Observing your pooch slumbering on a pillow can be quite endearing and is usually a sign they crave closeness and comfort. Since the footage surfaced on TikTok, it has attracted a myriad of comments from charmed viewers who are touched by the behaviour. One viewer on TikTok said: "My dog does this with my dressing gown." ‌ A different user admitted: "My cat has just started doing this." Another person disclosed: "We live in a basement flat, and our bedroom is down by the bottom of the outdoor stairs. When we walk down the stairs, we see our boy on our pillows looking out for us." A further comment humorously alluded to the messy consequences, saying: "You should see my pillows after mine have gotten comfortable." Adding to the chatter, another individual remarked: "Mine sleeps in bed with me snuggled in." The overall sentiment amongst viewers was that it's a delightful trait, indicative of pets' profound affection for their human friends – and their cushions. It seems that pets not only cherish their human partners but their pillows as well.

JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes share sweet update as relationship intensifies

After JoJo, 22, admitted earlier this week that her relationship with Love Island star Chris Hughes, 32, was no longer "platonic", she has shared more of their time together on social media Singer JoJo Siwa has shared a series of clips of her time in London over the last week, as her relationship with Love Island star Chris Hughes has continued to intensify. The couple, who appeared to fall for each other on Celebrity Big Brother, while JoJo was in a relationship, have spent lots of quality time together as JoJo joined her former co-star in the UK. The Dance Moms reality star, 22, has documented her time in London on TikTok, with Chris, 32, featuring heavily in her videos. Her most recent upload was captioned: "What a week and What a camera roll. Mini vlog coming next." ‌ As well as her tour, she has been hosting her Afternoon Tea Party, which saw her fans join her on a double-decker bus as she made her way around London. Adorned with sweet treats and sandwiches from "afternoon tea specialists" Brigit's Bakery, the bus took JoJo and her fans through the capital as they chatted and laughed. ‌ Her video included clips of her and Chris, including him kissing her on the head, them both in hysterics over his comedy glasses and the pair enjoying walks through the park with a coffee. One clip showed her taking part in an interview on Capital radio, in which she admitted, after months of speculation, that she and Chris are an item. Speaking to Capital Buzz on June 2, JoJo said: "I'm sure it's no secret to people, I am in a lovely relationship with a sweet boy named Christopher Hughes." She has also been forced to hit back at claims that her relationship with Chris is a publicity stunt. JoJo told The Guardian at the start of the week: "It's not platonic anymore, and it's been a beautiful development, a beautiful connection, and I'm absolutely head over heels for him and he's the same way.' When asked about suggestions it's for PR, she added: "Clearly, you've never been around us. I won't ever speak for him, but for me personally, the happiness in my life just radiates off of me right now." She added: "Literally yesterday, I was massaging my cheeks; I've never been in pain from smiling so much.' This Morning's Ben Shephard also brought the topic up with reality star Chris Hughes, who was left blushing live on air on Tuesday (June 3) when he congratulated him on his romance with JoJo. Chris shared a now-deleted photo showing the couple cuddling in bed together. ‌ He kissed her on the head while she lay on his chest, with Chris captioning the post: "Sleeping beauty." Speaking live on This Morning, Ben asked Chris: "Can we just say, because obviously we're all talking about, congratulations on the relationship. "We're all very excited. Have we decided on whether it's Hughes-wa? What's the power couple name?" A grinning Chris replied: "They call it CoJo. That's the one they're all going for. Chris-JoJo, it works. It rolls off the tongue, doesn't it? Thanks guys, I appreciate it." ‌ Meanwhile, on the Rosebud podcast with Gyles Brandreth, JoJo gushed about what drew her to Chris, saying: "When he first walked in, he was the only person that I knew what they looked like before coming into the show. "I was 'Oh that's the Chris guy'. Initially the first thing that I took in about him was he was a good hugger. I liked his hug. That felt like a nice embrace. And he smelt good." And now JoJo admits she is thinking long-term about a life with Chris, even wanting to make it permanent with a tattoo to commemorate their story. She said: "I want Chris to last for a lifetime," adding: "The Chris tattoo, I said in Big Brother that I would get this bamboo stick... and I want to get two other tattoos from the Big Brother house of memories that I have from in there."
