Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2025: Fold 7, Flip 7 Expected, Tri-Fold Concept May Steal the Show

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2025: Fold 7, Flip 7 Expected, Tri-Fold Concept May Steal the Show

Hans India2 days ago

Samsung is gearing up for its highly anticipated Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event, scheduled for July 9, where the spotlight is expected to shine on the next generation of foldable smartphones — Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. Adding to the excitement, new rumours suggest Samsung could finally lift the curtain on its long-rumoured tri-fold phone, though its retail debut may still be a few months away.
While Samsung hasn't officially announced availability dates, well-placed sources suggest a familiar release cadence. Citing a post from Chinese tipster Instant Digital on Weibo, both the Fold 7 and Flip 7 will likely be unveiled at the event and then released for retail in early August.
This matches Samsung's typical timeline. In 2024, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 were launched on July 9, with sales beginning two weeks later on July 24. The same launch rhythm was followed in 2023. If Samsung follows this pattern, pre-orders could open by the end of July.
Tri-Fold Debut in Sight
Perhaps the most exciting part of this year's Unpacked could be the first look at Samsung's tri-fold smartphone — a concept the company has hinted at over the years but never launched commercially. According to the latest leak, Samsung may tease the tri-fold during the event, but the actual release is expected to take place in October 2025.
This would mark a significant milestone for Samsung in the foldables space, pushing beyond the traditional clamshell and book-style designs to explore multi-folding form factors. If the tri-fold does make its debut, even as a concept, it could serve as a bold statement about Samsung's innovation in flexible display technology.
What Else to Expect
In addition to foldables, Samsung is also expected to refresh its wearables line with the Galaxy Watch 8 and Galaxy Watch 8 Classic. While official specifications are still under wraps, industry watchers anticipate iterative improvements in health monitoring, performance, and battery life — further strengthening Samsung's footprint in the premium smartwatch segment.
With multiple high-profile devices in the pipeline, Samsung is clearly aiming for a strong finish to 2025. From upgraded foldables to the potential reveal of its most futuristic device yet, the company's July 9 event may prove to be one of its most pivotal in years.
Until then, all eyes remain fixed on Galaxy Unpacked 2025 — the moment that could once again redefine the foldable phone market.

File image/ Reuters US President Donald Trump has said that TikTok has a potential buyer and he could announce the deal within two weeks. This is not the first time, however, that Trump has made such an announcement. He had said the same in January and March only to grant TikTok extensions to the waiver from a ban. Last year, Congress passed a bill and then-President Joe Biden signed it into law that said that TikTok must either sell its US operations to a non-Chinese entity or get banned in the United States. The ban came shortly before Trump's inauguration, but Trump swore to keep the social media platform afloat and granted it a waiver and then two extensions — first in April and second in June. 'We have a buyer' More than three months after he said there were four potential buyers , Trump has now narrowed it to one. He did not take any names. In an interview with Maria Bartiromo for Fox News, Trump said that he hoped Chinese President Xi Jinping would approve the deal. As TikTok is owned by a Chinese company, ByteDance, the Chinese regime would need to approve any sale of TikTok's US operations. 'We have a buyer for TikTok by the way. I think I will need probably China's approval and I think President Xi will probably do it. It's a group of very wealthy people,' said Trump. When asked about the name of the buyer, Trump said 'I'll tell you in about two weeks'. iPhone 17 Pro leak hints at Apple logo shift and major camera design overhaul

Apple is preparing to unveil its new iPhone 17 series, likely within the next two months. However, leaks and early reports have already given us an idea of what Apple might be planning this year. The upcoming lineup is expected to include four models: the iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Air, and the standard iPhone 17. A recent leak suggests that Apple may alter the position of the Apple logo on at least one model in the iPhone 17 lineup. Apple may shift the iPhone 17 Pro's logo position due to expected camera layout changes.(@MajinBuOfficial) Apple last altered the logo's position with the iPhone 11 series in 2019, when it shifted to the centre of the phone's back. Since then, the logo has stayed centred. However, a recent leak from Apple insider Majin Bu hints that the logo might move again for the iPhone 17 Pro model, 9t05Mac reported. According to Bu, the redesigned camera layout on the new model will require the logo to be repositioned lower on the back panel, potentially near the bottom centre below the camera bar. Also read: iPhone 17 Air likely to come with optional accessories for lasting battery life- Details New Camera Layout Expected Bu stated that a company producing cases for the iPhone 17 Pro confirmed they are preparing to manufacture cases accommodating the new logo placement. This suggests that Apple has finalised the design changes or is close to doing so. Alongside the logo shit, Bu shared images indicating the presence of a new full-length camera bar across the top portion of the device. While Apple has not confirmed these changes, the camera redesign appears likely based on multiple leaks and rumours. Also read: iPhone 17 Pro may not come with anti-reflective display coating as Samsung- Details This possible logo adjustment follows a series of leaks about the iPhone 17 Pro's rear design. The camera system is expected to be significantly updated for the first time since the introduction of the square-shaped camera module on the iPhone 11. Industry sources suggest the phone will keep three cameras aligned on the left side, but the flash and LiDAR sensor may shift to the right, which will create a wider camera layout. Although the logo repositioning has not been widely rumoured before, Apple's past design shifts support the possibility. For example, the iPhone X placed the Apple logo higher up on the back, with the 'iPhone' label positioned near the bottom. The iPhone 11 removed the 'iPhone' text and centred the logo as part of its redesign. Also read: Apple may launch sky blue colour option for iPhone 17 Pro in 2025: Report Bu also mentioned that the iPhone 17 Pro might feature a 'vapour chamber' cooling system to better manage heat, although he expressed uncertainty about this claim. The vapour chamber design is reportedly still in development, and the company is working through some technical challenges.

Trump says 'very wealthy' group to buy TikTok

U.S. President Donald Trump said Sunday a group of buyers had been found for TikTok, which faces a looming ban in the United States due to its China ties, adding he could name the purchasers in two weeks. "We have a buyer for TikTok, by the way," Mr. Trump said in an interview on Fox's Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo. "Very wealthy people. It's a group of wealthy people," the president said, without revealing more except to say he would make their identities known "in about two weeks." The U.S. president also said he would likely need "China approval" for the sale, "and I think President Xi (Jinping) will probably do it." TikTok is owned by China-based internet company ByteDance. A federal law requiring TikTok's sale or ban on national security grounds was due to take effect the day before Mr. Trump's inauguration on January 20. But the Republican, whose 2024 election campaign relied heavily on social media and who has said he is fond of TikTok, put the ban on pause. In mid-June Mr. Trump extended a deadline for the popular video-sharing app by another 90 days to find a non-Chinese buyer or be banned in the United States. Tech experts quickly described the TikTok kerfuffle as a symbol of the heated U.S.-China tech rivalry. While Mr. Trump had long supported a ban or divestment, he reversed his position and vowed to defend the platform, which boasts almost two billion global users, after coming to believe it helped him win young voters' support in the November election. "I have a little warm spot in my heart for TikTok," Mr. Trump told NBC News in early May. "If it needs an extension, I would be willing to give it an extension." Now after two extensions pushed the deadline to June 19, Mr. Trump has extended it for a third time. He said in May that a group of purchasers was ready to pay ByteDance "a lot of money" for TikTok's U.S. operations. The previous month he said China would have agreed to a deal on the sale of TikTok if it were not for a dispute over Mr. Trump's tariffs on Beijing. ByteDance has confirmed talks with the U.S. government, saying key matters needed to be resolved and that any deal would be "subject to approval under Chinese law."
