Ryan Phillippe says his young ‘Motorheads' co-stars make him feel like Yoda: ‘Very aware of my age!'
From teenage dream to wise sage.
Ryan Phillippe is taking the same journey that actors such as Luke Perry took earlier: he rose to fame in 'teen idol' type roles, and now he's playing a parent figure.
'I think having three kids of varied ages and having been a father for a long time, that's a natural space for me,' Phillippe, 50, told The Post about his new teen drama, 'Motorheads.'
But, he added, for his iconic role in 1999's 'Cruel Intentions,' he finds it 'crazy' that 'that film still has new fans today, and that it holds up the way that it has.'
'It's also crazy that they're now remaking so much of the stuff that I've been in – that makes me very aware of my age!'

He shares son Deacon, 21, with his ex-wife, Reese Witherspoon, 49, whom he was married to from 1999 to 2008. They also share daughter Ava, 25. (He has a third child, daughter Kai, 13, with his ex, 'Pitch Perfect' actress Alexis Knapp.)
'Motorheads' (premiering May 20 on Prime Video) follows high schoolers Zac (Michael Cimino) and Caitlyn (Melissa Collazo), who move with their mom (Nathalie Kelley) back to her Rust Belt hometown, where there's a thriving street race scene. They're close with their uncle, Logan (Phillippe), a former NASCAR mechanic who now struggles to keep an auto body shop afloat.

Deacon plays Logan's brother, Christian, in flashbacks, as he vanished under mysterious circumstances 17 years ago.
'It's like, at one point, I was like these early 20-somethings on this set. And it's funny how watching them interact and hearing them talk about the industry and their careers really does take me back to that time,' Ryan recalled to The Post.
The 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' star added, 'But I also think that I'm at a place in my life where [I'm] able to share some of my experience, and be very open about what that has been like – the good and the bad – to kind of steer them in the right direction, or be a source of advice or a mentor.'

He quipped, 'But yeah, I felt a little bit like Yoda sometimes on set.'
Ryan's co-stars would often ask him 'about the old days of movie making, and what it used to be like.'
'Some of them are afraid of being replaced by AI,' he explained. 'And I'm telling them that that's probably not an issue for me – because I will already be face down by the time that happens.'
In his Instagram post about 'Motorheads,' Ryan joked that he does not 'die in this one.'

His characters in previous high-profile roles, such as 'Cruel Intentions,' 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' and 'Big Sky,' have all been killed off.
'[For 'Big Sky'] they put me all over the key art and the billboards, and then I died in the first episode. So I had a lot of people that were very angry with me about that,' he recalled. 'A lot of friends or fans were like, 'oh, we're going to watch this show and you die in the first episode!''
'Now, I have to assure anyone when I'm in a project that I'm going to be in more than one episode.'
Since his 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' character died, he won't be part of the 2025 sequel. He also wasn't in Prime Video's now cancelled revival of 'Cruel Intentions.'

'It does and doesn't seem that long ago. It's interesting – there's parts of me that remember it like yesterday, and then there's another part of me that feels like it was someone else's life altogether,' he said. 'You're just happy that those things endure, and that people still care about the work that you did, in any capacity.'
While filming 'Cruel Intentions,' he said he had no inkling that it would become a cult classic.
'I did have this hope of being in some sort of seminal team movie, because of the ones that I grew up watching, like the John Hughes movies, 'Pretty in Pink' and 'The Breakfast Club.' And so I think there was a hope of mine that I would be in something like that,' he went on. 'But when you're making it, you have no concept of it.'

Amazon Is Going All In, This PlayStation VR Bundle With Horizon Call of the Mountain Now Costs Peanuts
No need to hold out until Black Friday this year, though, because the current offer from Amazon on the PlayStation VR2 Horizon Call of the Mountain bundle is better than anything we saw last year with holiday sales. If you don't want to shell out more than $3,000 for an Apple VR headset, this one from PlayStation is a much better value entry to the world of virtual reality without sacrificing realism and immersion. With the all-time low price of $349, down from $399, this bundle is a great deal if you're looking to enjoy VR. See at Amazon Best in Class VR Headset The PlayStation VR2 has quickly become a consumer VR favorite thanks to its combination of state-of-the-art technology, comfort and growing library of proprietary content. With this bundle, you're getting the very popular Horizon Call of the Mountain included which is one of the most visually impressive and immersive VR games available today. The $349 price tag is a 13% savings but more importantly, it puts high-quality virtual reality within reach of a much wider audience. Considering the hardware and the included game, this is easily the best value we've seen for a VR headset. You will be impressed by the Sense technology which brings a new level of interactivity and realism to virtual experiences. Eye tracking allows the system to follow your gaze, which makes interactions more natural and intuitive. Headset feedback introduces a sense of physicality to what you see and hear with soft vibrational feedback that makes in-game action come alive. The 3D audio engine surrounds you with immersive and space-filling sound, so you can pick up on all the crunching of leaves or distant echoes as if you were actually present within the game world. The controllers are matched and haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and finger touch detection all contribute to the fact that your actions and movements in VR will feel highly responsive and accurate. Graphically, PlayStation VR2 is an enormous leap forward compared to its predecessor (and much of the competition). The headset boasts incredible 4K HDR graphics and this offers sharp images that help to bring virtual worlds alive. The 110-degree field of view ensures you're completely immersed, with your peripheral vision filled by the game world rather than the edges of the display. Advanced graphical rendering means smoother frame rates and more detailed environments, so whether you're scaling mountains or exploring lush forests in Horizon Call of the Mountain, the experience is breathtakingly realistic. Another big advantage is the ease of setup and use: In contrast to the majority of PC-based VR headsets that require complicated setups and regular updates, the PlayStation VR2 is designed to be completely compatible with the PlayStation 5. Plug it in, follow a couple of simple steps, and you're ready to go. The headset is comfortable enough for extended game time, with an adjustable fit and slender build that won't leave you exhausted after an hour of game time. If you ever wanted to try virtual reality but scared of high costs or complex equipment, this package is the greatest opportunity to take the plunge. See at Amazon

‘The Better Sister' review: Estranged sisters reunite after a husband is murdered. Cue the intrigue.
Jessica Biel and Elizabeth Banks star in the eight-episode Amazon series 'The Better Sister,' about a wealthy woman and the estranged sister who comes barreling back into her world when her husband is murdered and her teenage stepson is charged with the crime. Twenty-five years ago, this adaptation of Alafair Burke's novel would have been an Ashley Judd movie with a tight, hour-45 running time: Part thriller and part mystery, as a woman comes to terms with the lies behind her upscale life. That kind of thing can be fun, if not especially deep, which is why streaming's tendency to expand stories over multiple episodes undercuts the propulsion needed to keep everything frothy and moving with enough economy that you're less likely to question whether any of it makes sense. Biel plays Chloe, the impeccable, girl-bossified editor of a magazine who seemingly has it all. It's a very thin characterization, but it does convey her supposed flawlessness. She's married to Adam (Corey Stoll), a corporate lawyer, and is stepmother to Adam's withdrawn teenage son Ethan (Maxwell Acee Donovan), but there's a secret: Chloe is also Ethan's aunt. Adam's previous wife was Chloe's older sister, Nicky (Banks), whose marriage to Adam fell apart — and her parental rights were severed — when she was found face-down in the pool one day, zonked out on pills and booze, and her toddler son nearly drowned. But that's too sordid a story for Chloe's public image, so she's portrayed herself simply as the stepmom who stepped up. She and Adam travel in high-end circles, befitting their income and ambitions. Their New York apartment has a wraparound terrace. There's also a house in the Hamptons, and that's where Chloe finds Adam dead in a pool of blood. What the hell happened? Suddenly, Nicky, who Chloe has erased from her life, is back in the picture and causing havoc as the police investigate the murder and zero in on Ethan, who had tensions with his father. That's one plot line. The more central (and interesting) narrative is the complicated relationship between Chloe and Nicky. Like Meghann Fahy in 'Sirens,' Banks is playing a very actressy version of messy and down market, chewing the scenery as a working class addict who is crassness personified next to her sister, who oozes perfection, right down to her razor-sharp bobbed haircut. Kudos to Biel for bucking the trend of long, beachy waves; breaking from that homogeneity is refreshing to see on screen. Biel looks amazing in that bob and it also speaks to who Chloe is, a woman putting intense effort to an idealized exterior meant to mask a more unpleasant upbringing. Chloe's ruse works for the most part. Even her ultra-fit physique telegraphs competence and control; it doesn't matter that everything is falling apart behind closed doors because people rarely look past the surface. I'm focusing on the visuals because they're doing more than Biel's performance, which is serviceable if not especially gripping. Adapted by Olivia Milch (daughter of David Milch) and Regina Corrado (whose credits include David Milch's 'Deadwood'), the series keeps you on your toes in terms of the whodunit, while plying you with the kind of aspirational lifestyle content that is so prevalent on television right now. No one is trustworthy. Is Chloe being played? By whom? By everyone? It's hard to care because she's presented as such a vacuous picture of faux feminist perfection at the outset. Chloe's patron saint is a glamorously formidable, well-connected power player embodied by a terrific and entertainingly slippery Lorraine Toussaint, who treats the role like an exercise in capturing something akin to 'Dynasty'-era Joan Collins. I love everything about the performance. Is she Chloe's friend or her worst nightmare? Then there's Adam's cravat-wearing boss, played by an equally slippery Matthew Modine. The cops keep turning up (an itchy Kim Dickens and the more watchful Bobby Naderi) and casting aspersions. And what are we to make of Ethan's attorney (Gloria Reuben), who seems like she's on the up and up, but is also close with a colleague of Adam's (Gabriel Sloyer), and maybe that's suspicious. The dynamic between the sisters may be predictable, but it works. When Chloe gets an iced organic matcha, Nicky gives her a look like, 'Are you for real?' Their bickering, at turns tense and mildly funny, is where the show is at its best, when Biel and Banks aren't being asked to play types, but to connect on a more fundamental level. 'The Better Sister' — 2 stars (out of 4) Where to watch: Amazon
