Coach Flower heaps praise on RCB skipper Patidar
'One of the most impressive things about Rajat is that he has not been affected by captaincy. He is still the lovely, gentle, polite Rajat Patidar that we knew last year. He has not changed at all in that regard,' Flower said in the press conference after RCB emerged as the IPL 2025 champion.
'I cast my mind back to how poorly I captained when I was his age. I've got tremendous respect for how he handled himself with all that scrutiny, and captaining some big players.
'You cannot underestimate the calmness that he showed in leading some really big players, in a really big franchise. Rajat made good decisions in the middle under pressure. I have got tons of respect for him. I am really proud of the way that he carried himself,' Flower said.
Flower explained that RCB's auction strategy was sound, despite the initial criticism. 'We copped some flak after the first day of the auction. People thought that we were investing our money rather than spending it.
'But it meant that there was some really good value to be had on the second day. We got guys like Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Krunal (Pandya), Tim David and Romario Shepherd all on that second day. So that was really important,' Flower said.
This isn't just celebrations, it's tears, hugs and screams.
This is what belief finally looks like. ❤️

Phil Salt's splendid catch to dismiss Punjab Kings opener Priyansh Arya was a turning point in the final, Flower said.
'That was an outstanding catch, wasn't it? It was a perfect example of someone holding his nerve under pressure. He only got back from England at 3 o'clock this morning (Salt had made a quick visit to England to witness the birth of his child). The catch was a turning point,' Flower said.

Watch: Digvesh Rathi's Heated Exchange With Batter Backfires; Gets Blasted For Back-To-Back Sixes
Last Updated: Digvesh Rathi tried to upset the rhythm of opener Ankit Kumar which led to a heated exchange and the opener later smashed the leggie for back-to-back sixes. Remember Digvesh Rathi? The bowler whose notebook celebration drew BCCI's ire during IPL 2025 resulting in multiple fines and then a suspension for confronting Abhishek Sharma? He's in the news again and this time, for his mind games backfiring during a Delhi Premier League match recently. After gaining fame through his on-field performances and antics in maiden IPL season, Rathi became one of the high-profile players in the ongoing second season of DPL. Representing Delhi Superstarz, Rathi launched a verbal volley at West Delhi Lions opener Ankit Kumar. The batter didn't back down and responded with back-to-back sixes. So what triggered the drama? Well, in the fifth over of West Delhi Lions innings, Rathi pulled out of his delivery stride at the last moment, presumably to upset the Ankit's rhythm. Later, Ankit responded in kind by pulling out of his batting stance which triggered a heated exchange. When Rathi was brought back later for a second spell, Ankit smashed consecutive sixes of the legspinner – over long-on and then clearing deep midwicket boundary. It wasn't a happy outing for Digvesh as he bowled three wicketless overs for 33 runs. In a stark contrast, Ankit enjoyed a productive game as he missed out on a century by just four runs. He scored 96 off 46 with the help of 11 fours and six sixes as West Delhi Lions overhauled the target of 186 in 15.4 overs. Rathi's IPL Fame Rathi was signed by LSG at the IPL mega auction last year at his base price of Rs 30 lakh. And he starred for the franchise with 14 wickets – the most by any uncapped bowler during the season. He became notorious for notebook celebration and later was punished for a fiery verbal exchange with Sunrisers Hyderabad opener Abhishek after which the BCCI punished him with a one-match suspension. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle And AB de Villiers Groove To Saath Samundar Paar
A funnily edited video of the India and RCB legend dancing with his teammates on the 90s chartbuster song went viral over social media. A hilarious video of Virat Kohli dancing with his former and current Royal Challengers Bengaluru teammates, including stalwarts AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle, went viral on social media. The legendary India and RCB player, known for his jovial avatar off the field, could be seen shaking his leg with his RCB friends in a video edited with the famous Hindi film song Saath Samundar Paar. Blending Kohli's moments of fun and dance over the years with his RCB teammates into one amusing clip, this social media handle brought a smile to the great right-hander's passionate followers, who must be missing him in action amid a prolonged break since the end of the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League. Kohli-Gayle-ABD Trio Dance Their Hearts Out Initially, in the funny video, one can see Kohli dancing with Gayle, De Villiers and even his former India teammate Yuvraj Singh. He then joins speedster Mohammed Siraj and RCB's famous anchor and mascot, Mr Nags, played by comedian Danish Sait. While funny, the clip beautifully captured how Kohli hasn't lost his child-like enthusiasm and love for the RCB setup despite spending 18 years with the team. The steps involved and the song from the 90s classic 'Vishwathma' made it a clip of great hysteria for those watching. Kohli earned his biggest moment in RCB colours this summer as the great batter finally lifted the prestigious IPL crown after 18 long years of a painstaking wait. The 36-year-old put behind him years of setbacks and frustration and cut the most jubilant figure when he held the prized silverware with his teammates following a victory in the memorable final against Punjab Kings on June 3. Kohli And RCB's Never-Ending Bond While his RCB teammates always vowed to do it for him, Kohli contributed immensely to the team's success as well. The legend transformed from a dependable anchor to an impactful aggressor at the top of the order and blasted 657 runs in his 16 innings at a strike rate of 144.71 while retaining an average of 54.75. He closed out the season as the third-highest run-getter, behind only Sai Sudharsan (759) and Suryakumar Yadav (717). view comments Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Revenue from operations stood at ₹9,579 crore, reflecting steady growth even as the company navigated a production pause during the quarter.
