The complaint was lodged by Prabhumal Chaudhary alias PN Dudi, a resident of Shiva Nagar, Sanganer. He stated that on June 28, he was at his restaurant "Hub Forty" near Gaurav Tower when he received a WhatsApp call from his friend Mukesh Ranwa, asking to meet nearby.
Upon reaching, Prabhumal found Mukesh already in the back seat of a car. He was forcibly made to sit in the vehicle, after which two more men entered. His mobile phone, watch, and personal belongings were snatched, and a black cloth was tied over his face.
The accused assaulted him and asked about another individual named Sushil. They claimed to be central govt's officers, showed forged ID cards and files, and demanded Rs 3 crore.

After negotiations, the amount was brought down to Rs 50 lakh. The victims were made to sign blank documents and forms.
Sushil was later abducted from a five-star hotel using a similar ruse. Both men were held in a hotel on the Bhilwara highway. The accused took their phones, but once switched on, incoming calls from family members raised suspicion, prompting relatives to alert the police. Sensing the tightening noose, the two victims managed to escape through nearby fields and contacted the police.
Initially hesitant to file a complaint, they later returned to Jaipur and named the accused in the FIR.
All five were arrested and presented in court, where they were sent to judicial custody. The gang used a rented car in Jaipur and reportedly travelled from Delhi in a private vehicle. Police are investigating the possibility of similar crimes linked to the accused.

BJP worker murder case: NIA arrests absconder on arrival from Qatar
Bengaluru: In a major breakthrough in its continuing investigation into the targeted killing of BJP Yuva Morcha member Praveen Kumar Nettaru by cadres of the banned Popular Front of India (PFI), the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday arrested a key accused, who had been absconding for the last two years. An official statement mentioned stated that Abdul Rahaman was taken into custody by an NIA team at the Kannur International Airport in Kerala on his arrival from Qatar. A total of four accused, including Abdul Rahaman and two other absconders, were chargesheeted by NIA in this case in April this year, taking the total chargesheeted in the case to 28, the NIA stated. NIA had also declared rewards for information relating to six absconders. Abdul Rahaman was carrying a reward of Rs 4 Lakh for this arrest. NIA investigations had revealed that Abdul Rahaman had, on the directions of PFI leadership, voluntarily harboured the main assailants and others involved in the case. He had fled to Qatar after the attackers were arrested, the NIA said. Praveen Nettaru was brutally killed with sharp weapons by PFI cadres/members on July 26, 2022 in Bellare village of Sullia Taluk in Mangaluru District. The killing was part of a larger conspiracy aimed at striking terror among the people and unleashing communal hatred and unrest in the society, the NIA stated. The NIA, which had re-registered the case on August 4, 2022, is trying to track down the remaining absconder, the statement said. The murder of Praveen Nettaru resulted in communal strife for a prolonged time in the coastal region of Karnataka. Praveen's murder resulted in a series of cases of revenge killings and stab incidents in the Mangaluru region. Mohammad Fazil was killed by Hindu activist Suhas Shetty gang to avenge the killing of Praveen Nettaru. Suhas Shetty was hacked to death recently to avenge the death of Fazil. To avenge the death of Suhas Shetty, a gang had killed Imtiyaz, a pick-up driver and the secretary of a local mosque.

Protest posters on WhatsApp:Case registered in Bantwal
Bantwal: The Bantwal Town Police have booked a case against members of the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) for allegedly circulating protest posters via WhatsApp even after their request to hold a public meeting was denied. The protest was planned at Kaikamba Junction in connection with the murder cases of Abdul Rahiman and the Ashraf Wayanad group. SDPI member Ashraf Talapady and two others had approached police authorities seeking permission to use loudspeakers and for adequate security arrangements. Police officials stated that permission was denied after the petitioners admitted they had no substantial evidence or information about government compensation or the accused in the related cases, which are currently under investigation at Bantwal and Mangaluru Rural Police Stations. Despite being informed about the rejection and the appropriate legal route to address their concerns, posters about the planned gathering were allegedly circulated on WhatsApp. This led to the registration of a fresh case at the Bantwal Town Police Station. Police said further legal action will be taken based on the developments.
