The Chiefs quarterback has already helped lead the team to the promised land on multiple occasions, having won three Super Bowl titles and five AFC titles in Kansas City.
While Mahomes works toward his ninth season in the NFL, bad news emerged on an investment he's been vocal about outside of the white lines.
The WNBA announced the expansion of three teams in the league in the following cities: Philadelphia, Cleveland and Detroit.
While many fans in the WNBA community were excited for the league's next move, Mahomes and his business partners, Chris Long and Angie Long, will have to hold tight.
Chris Long recently spoke on their desire to bring a WNBA team to Kansas City, issuing a statement after the league announced its five-year expansion plan.

"Dear Kansas City: we will continue to do everything in our power to bring the WNBA to our region," Chris Long said. "Please see official statement below. Thank you!
Patrick Mahomes previously spoke on his desire to bring a team to Kansas City in the fall. He explained that he will try to get a WNBA team to the city with the same ownership group that he's already connected with the KC Current.
The Chiefs serves as a part owner of the NWSL team alongside his wife and Chris Long and Angie Long, who own Palmer Square Capital Management LLC.

After assuring fans that they would work toward bringing a WNBA team to Kansas City, Chris Long had a definitive response to eagerness for women's sports expansion while expressing his disappointment in the WNBA's decision.

"The WNBA's expansion to three additional markets underscores the league's impressive growth and the increasing demand for women's basketball nationwide," Chris Long said. "The energy is real, the talent is undeniable, and the growth is here. While we are, of course, disappointed that Kansas City was not selected at this time, our belief in this city and its passion for basketball and women's sports has never been stronger."

Real Madrid Expected Lineup And Team News Vs. Dortmund, Club World Cup
Real Madrid play Borussia Dortmund at the MetLife Stadium on Saturday. Xabi Alonso will lead Real Madrid into the FIFA Club World Cup quarterfinal against Borussia Dortmund while possibly only three games away from winning his first trophy as Real Madrid coach. However, he does so with some tricky selection decisions to make with his lineup to take on Niko Kovač's team. Borussia Dortmund beat Sergio Ramos' Monterrey in the last 16 to reach this stage and remain unbeaten in the tournament to date. Their squad includes Jobe Bellingham, brother of Jude, but he will not feature as he serves a suspension after picking up his second yellow card of the competition in that 2-1 win over Monterrey. In a re-match of the 2024 UEFA Champions League final, Real Madrid will be looking to secure a fourth consecutive win against the German side. Los Blancos have not lost to Dortmund in any of their last six meetings, the last defeat coming against Jurgen Klopp in April 2014, when Dortmund won 2-0 in Germany but were still eliminated after losing 3-0 in the first leg. The game will take place at 4 p.m. ET at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on Saturday, July 5th, with good weather conditions expected with clear skies and 86°F on the forecast. That will be a pleasant change for Real Madrid, who saw storms hit Miami ahead of their last 16 encounter with Juventus where they emerged the 1-0 victors courtesy of a Gonzalo García header. Real Madrid team news vs. Borussia Dortmund One factor that Xabi Alonso will be keeping in mind will be the players in his squad who are only one yellow card away from suspension. That includes two key players in the shape of Vinícius Júnior and Jude Bellingham. Both have been booked in the first four games in the competition and would miss a potential semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain or Bayern Munich if they are shown another yellow card here. In terms of injuries, Kylian Mbappé came off the bench against Juventus and now has several more training sessions under his belt as he returns to action after being out with gastroentiritis for the entirety of the group stage of the tournament. The Frenchman played 22 minutes against the Italians, but did not look at full fitness and could now be eased back into action. Also available will be Dani Carvajal and Éder Militão, who both returned to the matchday squad against Juventus after long-term injuries. Neither featured in Miami, nor are they likely to come off the bench for this game either. Out will be Endrick Felipe and Ferland Mendy, who won't feature in this tournament, and David Alaba, not expected back until September. Eduardo Camavinga has returned to light training but will also not be involved here as his return is managed. Real Madrid's expected lineup vs. Borussia Dortmund: Thibaut Courtois; Antonio Rüdiger, Aurélien Tchouameni, Dean Huijsen; Trent Alexander-Arnold, Fede Valverde, Arda Güler, Jude Bellingham, Fran García; Vinícius Júnior, Gonzalo García. The biggest doubt in the team selection comes with the second striker role. Gonzalo García is one of the competition's top scorers with three goals and an assist in four games, and it appears that Xabi Alonso could stick with him given that run of form, and bring Kylian Mbappé off the bench to regain match sharpness. It also seems that the coach will stick with his back three system, though against Juventus it was made clear just how flexible it can be to revert to a 4-4-2 with Aurélien Tchouameni's versatility making it possible to drop deeper in defence or step up into midfield. On the bench, there are several experienced options, such as the likes of Lucas Vázquez and Luka Modrić. Squad options like Brahim Díaz and Rodrygo Goes could also come in off the sidelines if needed to boost the team in search of a win.

Why Energy Fuels Stock Lit Up Today
Cantor Fitzgerald upgraded Energy Fuels stock to "buy" today. Once speculative, Cantor has reason to believe Energy Fuels stock will soon turn solidly profitable. The reason: Its Pinyon Plain mine in Arizona appears to have "one of the highest-grade uranium deposits mined in U.S. history." 10 stocks we like better than Energy Fuels › Energy Fuels (NYSEMKT: UUUU) stock surged 10.5% through 2:30 p.m. ET Wednesday after investment bank Cantor Fitzgerald upgraded the uranium mining stock from "speculative buy" to just plain "buy." The banker also gave the shares a price target of $7.17, says If correct, this implies Energy Fuels stock could gain another 13% over the next 12 months. Cantor based its upgrade on a press release from Energy Fuels yesterday morning in which the company stated it mined 638,700 pounds of triuranium octoxide (U3O8) from its Pinyon Plain mine in Arizona in the second quarter of 2025, "cementing its place as one of the top new uranium mines in the world." Even better, more than 36% of this production happened in June (so production rates are increasing). The purity of the uranium mined averaged 3.51% in June -- 57% better than for the quarter as a whole (so the mining operation is getting more efficient). Company CEO Mark Chalmers says Pinyon is turning into "one of the highest-grade uranium deposits mined in U.S. history," which should result in lower unit production costs and higher profits for Energy Fuels. That would be a nice change because most years, Energy Fuels actually loses money. Trailing-12-month results for the stock actually show a $78 million loss and more than $102 million in negative free cash flow. The good news is that Energy Fuels is getting good rates for its production of uranium at $77 per pound in Q2, and analysts polled by S&P Global Market Intelligence expect to see positive profits as early as 2026 and growing profits thereafter. Priced at an unchallenging 25x next year's expected profit of $0.25 per share, Energy Fuels stock could be a winner. Why UnitedHealth Stock Is Sinking Again Today
UnitedHealth Group shares are sliding today following negative industry news from rival insurer Centene. Centene was forced to pull its full-year guidance due to troubling data. The company is facing major issues, including a DOJ fraud investigation and reports of significant misconduct. 10 stocks we like better than UnitedHealth Group › Shares of UnitedHealth Group (NYSE: UNH) are falling today, down 4.5% as of 2:41 p.m. ET. The drop comes as the S&P 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) gained 0.3% and the Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQINDEX: ^IXIC) gained 0.8%. The troubled health insurance giant is seeing its stock slide after a fellow insurer announced it was pulling its full-year guidance. Centene, a rival insurer, announced late Tuesday that it is pulling its previously set earnings and revenue guidance for 2025. The company said that new data from its Affordable Care Act plans was so poor that it would need to readjust. Centene said that preliminary data indicated it will need to cut its previous 2025 earnings per share (EPS) target of $7.25 by $2.75 per share. Mizuho analyst Ann Hynes told investors this morning she believes it could be cut by as much as half. The massive downward adjustment is the latest in a string of bad news for the insurance industry, leading to stocks slipping across the board. The company is under investigation by the DOJ for fraudulent billing practices in its Medicare division, and a recent investigative report by The Guardian revealed that UnitedHealth has been making secret bonus payments to nursing homes in order to keep ailing residents out of hospitals and save money. The report also claims the company staffed nursing homes with its own medical teams who, at times, interfered in order to keep residents who needed hospital care from receiving it. There are just too many issues facing UnitedHealth at the moment, with no clear picture of an imminent turnaround. This once-seemingly stable investment looks far from it at the moment, and I would stay away from the stock.
