Report: WWE WrestleMania 42 shifts from New Orleans to Las Vegas
WWE is now bringing next year's WrestleMania event back to Las Vegas.
The Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation confirmed in a statement to USA TODAY Sports that WrestleMania 42 will no longer take place in New Orleans in 2026. Wrestlenomics first reported the news.
According to a report from NOLA.com, an industry official stated WWE's biggest two-night show will return to Las Vegas for the second consecutive year, following WrestleMania 41, which took place at Allegiant Stadium in April.
Despite losing WrestleMania 42, New Orleans will host the event in a future year and will be the home of Money in the Bank in 2026 as a part of an ongoing partnership with TKO Group Holdings, Inc. The last WrestleMania event to take place in "The Big Easy" was WrestleMania 34 in 2018, which reportedly brought an economic boom of $175 million to the city. New Orleans was also home to WrestleMania 30 in 2014.
"The Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation and New Orleans & Company are working closely with our friends at TKO to expand our long-standing partnership," the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation said in a joint statement with WWE. "Which will include UFC 318 on July 19, 2025, Money In The Bank in 2026, and WrestleMania - which will move from the currently scheduled 2026 timeframe to a future year."
Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, initially announced New Orleans as the landing spot for WrestleMania 42 on the Feb. 21 episode of SmackDown. The event was set to take place at Caesars Superdome April 11-12, 2026.
