Next shoppers hail 'very comfy' £29 sandals as 'like Birkenstocks' but 65% cheaper

Daily Record13-05-2025

Get summer ready with these summer sandals that are much cheaper than a pair of Birkenstocks.
Many fashion fans will admit that a pair of Birkenstocks' Arizona Sandals are a summer must-have. However, like many big-name brands, they aren't exactly the cheapest.
The iconic two-strap sandals have earned a legion of fans that includes celebrities such as Kendall Jenner and Margot Robbie. With prices starting from £85, it's no wonder many retailers have been offering their own versions at cheaper prices.
One of them is Next, with the high street retailer's Forever Comfort® Double Strap Footbed Sandals being hailed as "similar" to the luxury brand's own footwear, but at just £29 a pair, they are a staggering £56 cheaper.
Available in a standard fit, these sandals feature the same two-strap design, adjustable buckle fastening and upper suede material that shoppers say is "soft" and causes "no rubbing" on the top of the foot.
With the suede-lined Forever Comfort Footbed, they have been designed to provide all day comfort, while the durable outsole has been designed to last, offering value for money.
Available in sizes 3.5 to nine, these sandals can be bought in four colours - silver, neutral, coral pink and black.

Whether paired with swimwear, a summer dress or even a pair of linen trousers, they can be paired with virtually any outfit.
Next isn't the only retailer to offer a 'dupe' for the iconic Birkenstocks sandals, as New Look's own Mink Faux Leather Buckle Strap Sandals also offer a similar design for a humble £16.99.
Over at Debenhams, shoppers can also find another affordable alternative with the EverAu Australia Mallard leather Twin Buckle Sandals that are on offer for £49.99, although they would usually cost £89.99.
Shoppers keen on bagging Next's own summer sandals will be pleased by more than their price, which is 65 per cent less than Birkenstocks.
They have multiple glowing reviews varying for each colour and they have been praised as "very comfortable" and also "good value."
One of the positive reviews read: "Very comfortable sandals. Similar to Birkenstocks but half the price!"
A second happy customer said: "I've been buying these for many years, always comfortable and good value. Would recommend."
Fashion deal of the week
Jetting off on holiday this summer and need some flattering new swimwear?
One that shoppers can't stop gushing over is Next's Plunge Shaping Tummy Control Swimsuit that seems to "firm" wobbly bits around the waistline. Costing just £40, it boasts 10 colours and prints to choose from.
With its elegant deep plunge neckline and trendy high-cut leg design, it's a fashionable one-piece that also is "not too revealing". It comes with a tummy-shaping panel around the middle that works to smooth out any lumps and bumps.
Each design of the one-piece is available in a regular-fit, with sizes ranging from a six through to 26, although some are beginning to sell out incredibly fast.
Those who have bought the £40 Next swimsuit can't stop praising it, as one shopper said: "The thick straps are super supportive and comfortable and the plunge neckline is very flattering while not showing too much cleavage. It's quite a high leg which I like and it feels very comfortable on.
"It pulls the tummy in nicely and is lovely and soft. I can't wait to wear this by the pool on holiday and I will feel comfortable swimming in it too."
A repeat purchaser wrote: "I've got a few different colours in this style of swimsuit now as it's a very flattering fit whilst also being very comfortable and secure."

However, someone who wasn't keen on the comfortability said: "I can't return as I had them too long, only wore them recently and they have given me blisters and a sore on my foot. I wouldn't recommend. I'm surprised as Next are usually good quality."
Although someone else added: "Lovely soft straps. Very comfortable as expected."
And another shopper said of their purchase: "Very comfortable and straps are soft on top of foot - no rubbing."

Cat Deeley takes style notes from Rochelle Humes with ‘classy' co-ord

Next fans have praised the 'beautiful' co-ord, with many saying the set earned them plenty of compliments The This Morning presenters are an endless fountain of fashion inspiration - so much so it appears they're even turning to each other for style notes. It comes as Cat Deeley has stepped out in a 'classy' and 'beautiful' co-ord this morning, from fellow presenter Rochelle Humes' edit with high-street retailer, Next. The 48-year-old wore the Brown Glossy Satin Polka Dot Maxi Skirt and matching Brown Glossy Satin Polka Dot Halter Top for Thursday's episode, with the matching pieces giving the illusion of a maxi dress. Shoppers have been heaping praise on the two-piece, saying it's earned them 'lots of compliments' - and it's not hard to see why. Chocolate polka dots are a timeless trend, with the print being a mainstay in the wardrobes of royalty. Kate Middleton has been spotted in similar dotty designs over the years, so we're at no risk of it ever going out of style. You only have to glance at the likes of ASOS or Nobody's Child to prove it, with both fashion favourites currently flooded with similar patterns. The Next skirt has earned much praise from shoppers, with one five star review reading: 'The quality of the material is stunning it hangs lovely and I love polka dots. Little bit expensive but it will never age.' The skirt comes in at £50, but as the customer mentioned above, it's an investment piece that will be worn for years to come. It's available in regular or petite sizing, featuring pleated detailing and a smooth satin fabric, finished with an elasticated wide waistband for a comfortable fit. 'Beautiful skirt and really comfortable,' said a second shopper. ' Very classy in my opinion. The colours are lovely and there's a matching top available. Perfect for tall women.' However, it may not be ideal for those who prefer a low maintenance look, with one review complaining it needed to be ironed. They said: 'I absolutely loved the colour and fit of the skirt but it creased so badly.' Another glowing review penned: 'Beautiful skirt, which is lovely quality. A great length for me (5ft 9 height) Got lots of compliments wearing the outfit, along with matching top.' Like many of the Next shoppers, Cat wore the skirt with the matching top, which is a little more affordable at £32. Made from a soft satin fabric with an all-over polka dot print, it's finished with a tie fastening and is perfect for summer styling. This has also received much praise from fans. 'Love this top.. so comfy and classy,' said one. 'Sizing is perfect. Bought this and the matching skirt. I really love it and yet it's a colour I wouldn't normally go for. Got great compliments when wearing it.' One way to get a similar look is the Brown Polka Dot Bandeau Felicity Midi Dress from Nobody's Child, priced at £99. A semi-fitted style, the bandeau number comes with removable spaghetti straps, meaning shoppers can choose if they want to wear it strapless. Styled by Rachael Hughes, Cat opted to let her Next co-ord do all the talking, pairing it with a simple, cream heel. On the site, Rochelle, modelling the outfit, also plumed for a neutral heel, with a cutout design and slingback. Rochelle's collection, which launched a few weeks back, is made up of timeless linen fabrics, colourful fitted co-ords and some suitable summer knits for the UK's unpredictable climes. It's been incredibly popular with shoppers who adore her clean, minimalistic aesthetic, and can now count Cat Deeley as a fan, too. With not one, but two celebrity endorsements, I predict this co-ord is likely to sell out before the weekend. For those wanting to get their hands on it, it can be found on the Next website here.

Boden's 'absolutely gorgeous' maxi skirt reduced from £112 to £67

The colourful skirt comes in petite, regular and long and has concealed side pockets Shoppers looking for a stunning maxi skirt to pair with camisoles, T-shirts and blouses throughout the summer months will be delighted to hear Boden has slashed the price of one of its most popular options. The Nadia Poplin Maxi Skirt usually retails at £112, however fashion fans can now add it to their wardrobe for £67.20, giving a saving of £44.80. The colourful 'Blossom Cascade' floral skirt comes in petite, regular and long fits in sizes four to 22. The garment is made up of several tiers in blue, red and green shades, with a pale pink floral design scattered all over. The skirt is designed to fall to the ankle, allowing the wearer to show off their footwear, whether that's a cute pair of sandals or classy wedged heels. The skirt has a concealed zip, plus handy side pockets to keep essentials close by. For shoppers wanting to explore more bold maxi skirts, Next is selling an Ecru/Red Lobster Print 100% Cotton Tiered Maxi Skirt perfect for summer holidays. Priced at £28, this option is available in petite and regular in sizes four to 22. New Look's eyecatching Pink Patchwork Printed Tiered Midi Skirt costs £29.99. It has an elasticated shirred waistband and comes in sizes 10 to 22. 'Blossom Cascade' Nadia Poplin Maxi Skirt £112 £67.20 Boden Buy here Product Description Boden's Nadia Poplin Maxi Skirt is available in three other vibrant prints, however these vary in price. Several shoppers have reviewed the discounted 'Blossom Cascade' floral skirt, with the majority rating it five stars. One impressed buyer commented: "Absolutely gorgeous colourful floral pattern. Lovely flow, perfect maxi length on me at 5'7". I ordered up from my regular size 8 due to recent weight gain around my middle, since I knew there is no stretch in the waistband, and this was the right choice. "Love the lightweight cotton and pockets. Hope to order in another colour. This skirt is everything I love about Boden, and that I can't get anywhere else." " What a gorgeous skirt," wrote another happy shopper. "Easily dressed up or down perfect for vacation/warmer climate. I went ridiculously overboard and got the same shirt in linen which I love, and the bathing suit in the same print. The skirt is beautiful, it is not too thin because it has a cotton lining - and it has pockets!" Unfortunately one Boden customer was left disappointed with the sizing of the Nadia Poplin Maxi Skirt, as they explained: "The petite is very long and drowns me, so probably will have to return." However, someone else was delighted, saying: "I love this skirt. It is proper maxi on me but I love the way it hangs. My usual size 12 fits perfectly and the regular length comes right down to my ankles. Fabulous colours."

Kendall Jenner soaks up the sun in tiny black bikini after her healthy diet was revealed

Kendall Jenner used Instagram on Wednesday to showcase her 5'11" frame in a tiny black bikini. The 29-year-old supermodel soaked up the sun in a desert scene as she captioned the carousel post, 'strawberry moon.' Jenner put her washboard abs on display in the stringy swimsuit, which featured a racerback design and high-cut bottoms with minimal coverage. The fashionista added a straw hat as she stretched out poolside. It comes after a nutritionist weighed in on her low-calorie diet, which the star had previously teased on social media. In the idyllic post, Jenner also shared a snippet showing her wearing a green tank top while leaning out of a car window. She was surrounded by mountains and desert sand in the selection of flawless images, which has so far collected more than one million likes from her 287 million followers. Earlier this month the reality television personality gave her fans a glimpse at her ultra-healthy breakfast. The spread included parfait bowls with raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, and yogurt. There was also a helping of nuts, a Golden Milk Latte, grapefruit, and a thin-sliced bagel. 'The whole plate is about 200 calories, and it's full of healthy fats that help keep her thin,' functional nutritionist Monica Partier told 'The meal consists of fresh berries like raspberries, strawberries and blackberries that have fiber and vitamins in them. It looks like Kendall added Matcha green tea powder, which is an antioxidant and contains vitamin C, chromium, magnesium, selenium and zinc,' added Partier. The expert noted, 'There are also a few small nuts, which contain healthy fats, and a splash of Greek yogurt which is high in calcium and protein, and supports gut health, and also is a healthy fat.' She captioned the carousel post, 'strawberry moon' Weeks ago Kendall attended an NBA playoffs game with Kylie and her boyfriend Timothée Chalamet. But ahead of the sporting event, the brunette bombshell suffered a dental mishap. She chipped one of her front teeth while en route to New York City on her sibling's Kylie Air private jet. The Kylie Cosmetics billionaire shared a clip on Instagram at the time, showing the women laughing hysterically over the ordeal. In the clip a makeup-free Kendall asked, 'Did my nail come off, or was it my tooth?' while a small white fragment rested on the pad of her finger. By the next evening Kendall was back in Los Angeles, where she spent time with longtime friend Hailey Bieber.
