5 Google I/O 2025 features you can try right now in India

At Google's yearly developer event, I/O 2025, the focus was clearly on artificial intelligence. The company unveiled a long list of updates across many of Google's products. From a $250/month Ultra subscription to a new AI-powered version of Search, Google shared a wide range of updates, some exciting, others likely to stretch your monthly budget. Whether you're a developer, a business, or just someone who uses Gmail, there's something here for you. Here's a breakdown of the biggest announcements.
Google's flagship AI model, Gemini, got some serious upgrades. The new Gemini 2.5 Pro introduces a 'Deep Think' mode designed to tackle complex mathematics and coding problems by weighing multiple possibilities before answering.
Meanwhile, Gemini 2.5 Flash, a faster, more affordable version, has been fine-tuned to handle long texts, images, code, and logic-heavy tasks more efficiently. It's nearly as capable as Pro but uses 20–30 per cent fewer tokens, making it a budget-friendly option for developers who want high performance.
Remember Project Starline, Google's 3D video chat booth that made it feel like the other person was right in front of you? It's now a real product called Google Beam. It uses six cameras and AI to create a lifelike 3D video on a special display, with smooth real-time tracking at 60 frames per second. HP will launch Beam devices for businesses later this year, and companies like Deloitte, Duolingo, and Salesforce are already on board.
It may not replace Zoom right away, but it could make virtual meetings feel more real and less tiring.
In a surprise move, Google announced a new premium plan called AI Ultra, costing $250 per month.
For this high price, users get early access to Google's newest AI tools, unlimited use of features like Deep Research, and 30TB of storage across Google Photos, Drive, and Gmail. It also includes YouTube Premium and access to test features like Project Mariner.
Video calls with people who speak different languages will be easier. Google Meet now has AI that translates what you say into the other person's language almost instantly. It even tries to copy your tone and way of speaking.
Right now, it works between English and Spanish, but more languages will come soon. The feature is first available in beta for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers.
Google's AI is coming to your inbox to help you. Soon, Gmail will suggest smart replies that sound like you by learning how you write and your past emails. It pays attention to your usual greetings, tone, and favorite words to make better suggestions.
With your permission, Gemini can use info from your Gmail and Google Drive to write these replies. For example, if a friend asks about a trip, it can use your saved plans to help you reply.
This feature will start in July for English users on the web, iOS, and Android. It's either very helpful or a little strange, depending on how you feel about AI copying your writing.

Victoria's Secret hit by cyberattack; company says, ‘we have taken down our website and…'

Victoria's Secret has suspended all online orders due to a suspected cyberattack, though its brick-and-mortar stores remain operational. Despite a spokesperson reportedly confirming that third-party cybersecurity experts have been retained to address the issue, the lingerie company declined to provide details on the attack's nature or the expected resolution timeline. The identity of the attackers is not yet known. This disruption follows a recent warning from Google that a cybercriminal group responsible for significant disruptions to British retailers had begun targeting major American brands. According to a report by NBC News, Victoria's Secret 's website has been replaced with a generic message and no links since last week. The message reads: 'Valued customer, we identified and are taking steps to address a security incident. We have taken down our website and some in store services as a precaution. Our team is working around the clock to fully restore operations. We appreciate your patience during this process.' What Google warned about cyberattackers targeting America brands In April, a cyberattack campaign targeting British retailers began and followed a consistent method. According to Google, a loosely affiliated group of predominantly young, English-speaking men, known in cybersecurity circles as Scattered Spider, deceived employees at these companies into revealing credentials for sensitive systems. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Grezzana: L'ultima soluzione acustica svizzera: ingegnosa e quasi invisibile Migliora Udito Undo Scattered Spider then reportedly passed that access to a criminal organization calling itself DragonForce, which extorts victims by threatening to release stolen data. This year, three British retailers confirmed they were hit by cyberattacks: Marks & Spencer suspended online orders for several weeks; the Co-op Group suffered a major customer data breach; and Harrods experienced only brief service interruptions. These attacks seem similar to the incidents that took place in 2023 against two major Las Vegas casino operators, in which MGM Resorts endured widespread outages, which ranged from hotel keycard failures to casino floor closures, after Scattered Spider allegedly granted access to a Russian-speaking criminal syndicate. Google launches AI Edge Gallery App to run hugging face models offline on phones

Keywords: Google AI Edge Gallery, offline AI models, Hugging Face, Android AI apps, iOS AI app, AI on-device, edge computing, local AI models, AI Prompt Lab, Google Gemma, Apache 2.0 license, experimental alpha release, AI development, Google open source AI, mobile AI Google has quietly unveiled a new app called AI Edge Gallery, enabling users to download and run AI models from Hugging Face directly on their smartphones — entirely offline. Currently available for Android (with iOS support coming soon), this experimental Alpha release allows local execution of image generation, Q&A, code writing, and more using compatible models like Google's Gemma 3n. Users can browse models by task, such as 'AI Chat' or 'Ask Image,' and launch them via an intuitive interface. A built-in Prompt Lab supports quick, single-turn tasks like summarizing and rewriting content, offering customizable templates and settings for developers to explore. While cloud-based models remain more powerful, the local alternative prioritizes data privacy, speed (on modern devices), and offline accessibility, especially useful where internet is unreliable. Performance will vary based on device specs and model size. Licensed under Apache 2.0, the app is open for commercial and personal use, and Google is inviting developer feedback to improve its capabilities. Developers can download Google AI Edge Gallery from GitHub by following provided instructions.
