Spurs' Harper, Bryant showcased generosity by volunteering in San Antonio community
Harper and Carter were joined by second-year forward Riley Minix at Haven for Hope, a homeless shelter in San Antonio. The three players were seen behind the counter, along with several other individuals, providing food and positive interactions to those in need.
The offseason period is a great chance for incoming rookies to get to know their respective markets and communities. Harper and Carter looked grateful to be asked to help the local area and appeared to make the most of their time this week.
Harper debuted with the Spurs in the NBA Summer League, averaging 16 points, four rebounds, two assists and one steal on 35.7% shooting from the field. The No. 2 pick dealt with a minor groin injury and was limited to two appearances.
Bryant, the 14th pick, logged six appearances in summer league, averaging 7.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.7 blocks and 1.2 assists on 28.6% shooting from the field. He wrapped up his stay with a 16-point, five-rebound performance on July 17.
The two players appear to have ingratiated themselves well within the local community after joining the organization in June. They had the opportunity to give back and likely picked up some new fans along the way.

NFL preseason grades for Abdul Carter and Tyler Warren following debuts
The first batch of preseason games in the NFL are in the books, which means a few former Penn State players finally got their first little taste of the speed of the NFL. Among the rookies in action during the first week of the NFL's preseason was Abdul Carter, the third overall pick of the New York Giants. Carter put together a solid showing in his first preseason experience and received a very positive grade from the NFL community. Carter was one of four first-round draft picks to receive an A+ grade on their NFL preseason debuts from CBS Sports. Carter was credited with three pressures in his debut against the Buffalo Bills. Considering the rookie was going up against a Pro Bowl player, Bills left tackle Dion Dawkins, that is a great first impression to leave on those watching and a promising sign of things to come. Yes, it was just a small sample size, but Carter will have high expectations of him given he was the third overall pick in the draft. The Giants are hoping the former Nittany Lion standout develops into one of the great all-time defensive players in Giants history, and there are some great names in franchise history he may one day join in the upper ranks of the franchise. The good news for the Giants is first-round quarterback Jaxson Dart also received an A+ grade. Not bad for the Giants, it would seem. Penn State's other first-round draft pick, tight end Tyler Warren, also received a solid grade from his preseason debut. Warren was given a B+ grade from CBS Sports. Warren caught three passes for 40 yards for the Colts in a loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Carter and the Giants will be back in action Saturday, Aug. 16, against the New York Jets. Warren and the Colts will face the Green Bay Packers on the same day.

Tottenham Hotspur Are Eager To Land This Liverpool Playmaker: Good Option For Frank?
In a recent post on X, journalist Sebastien Vidal claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are eager to land Liverpool playmaker Harvey Elliott this summer. It has been mentioned that Spurs are open to meeting the Merseyside club's demands and are willing to offer the English talent regular first-team football this season. Elliott's Important Role At Merseyside Last Season Elliott managed to shine at times for the Reds in the previous campaign when he put in a handful of promising displays for them in the final third. The 22-year-old scored five goals and earned three assists in 28 matches for the Merseyside outfit last season on all fronts. The English talent was not shy of having a strike at goal as he averaged 4.12 shots per 90 minutes in the Premier League. However, he only kept 23.5% of his attempts on target. Elliott was even accurate when distributing possession in the final third, based on his pass completion rate of 82.2% in league football (stats via His current contract at Anfield will run out in the summer of 2027. Thus, Tottenham would have to make a convincing offer if they are serious about recruiting Elliott in this transfer window. Elliott can shoot the ball with power and precision from long range and has got the vision to create some inviting chances for his teammates in and around the opponent's penalty area. The English talent is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can chip in by scoring and creating a few important goals for his team. He is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also serve as a box-to-box midfielder or as a right-sided wide player if asked to do so. Elliott would no doubt enhance the quality of Tottenham boss Thomas Frank's attack. He is good enough to compete for a regular starting spot at the North London club this season. At 22, there is still a lot of room for improvement in Elliott's game. He would be an excellent option for Spurs to consider in this summer transfer window. Elliott would also help Tottenham challenge across all competitions over the next few years. Thus, Frank would be wise to go all out to secure the Liverpool sensation's services soon.

View more Video Transcript The opening night game for the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Mavericks. We're going to see Cooper Flagg and Dylan Harper facing off on opening night. That's pretty awesome. That is. I mean, this was the Mavs' opening night game a year ago, too. So, I mean, whenever I was growing up and really getting into basketball, Mavs-Spurs was just iconic. It was classic. You had Dirk, you had Tim Duncan, Tony Parker. I mean, it was great, and I'm hopeful, obviously. that Cooper Flagg turns into everything that I think he's capable of turning into. I think Dylan Harper is going to be incredible, too. I thought he looked awesome in the few summer league games he played, but I think he's going to be great. He might take a little more time just because of the shooting and that logjam, backcourt situation that they have currently, but this could be back to the Spurs Mavs rivalry of old that we thought we would get with Luka and Wemby, but we might get it with Flagg and Wemby and Harper. And I I'm excited. I think this is a good opening night matchup for both these teams. What are your expectations for Flagg in his rookie season? Does he need to play a major role for the Mavericks to be a playoff team, period? Or a deep playoff team? What do you want to see from Cooper this year when it comes to that? Yeah, so any scenario in which I have the Mavs reaching what I think is a pretty high ceiling for them is Flag being a top 50 player, top 60 player pretty much immediately. And, you know, there were some people when the Mavs won the lottery who said this was a terrible fit for him, which I just pushed back on so hard because I actually think this is a great fit for Flagg because he doesn't have to do all of these things immediately. He can play off of AD. When Kyrie comes back, he can play off of Kyrie. He's got good shooters around. He's got good defenders around him. But there is a playmaking void on the Mavericks' roster that Flagg could, in theory, step in and fill a little bit. I think he's a special decision maker and playmaker for his size. Cooper Flagg is. So, does he have to be great immediately for the Mavs? Not necessarily, but if they're to reach their ceiling, I, I think, yeah, he's got to be a top 50 or 60 player, which I think is 100% possible.
