Andrew Garfield to Star in Luca Guadagnino's "Artificial"
Andrew Garfield has signed on to star in Luca Guadagnino's upcoming feature 'Artificial' at Amazon MGM.
Garfield joins 'Anora' breakout and recent Oscar nominee Yura Borisov in the feature, which is described as a 'comedic drama set in the world of artificial intelligence.'
Simon Rich ('An American Pickle') wrote the script and will produce alongside Heyday Films' David Heyman and Jeffrey Clifford as well as Jennifer Fox.
'Artificial' reunites Garfield, Guadagnino and Amazon MGM Studios.
Guadagnino recently directed 'After the Hunt,' starring Julia Roberts, Garfield and Ayo Edebiri, which the studio is releasing in theaters on October 10.
Early reports claimed that, alongside Garfield and Borisov, Monica Barbaro was also circling a lead role in 'Artificial,' and asserted that the film centered around AI company OpenAI and the period in 2023 where its CEO Sam Altman was fired and rehired in just a few days.
'Artificial' comes at a busy period for Garfield.
Alongside 'After the Hunt,' the "Spider-Man" actor also starring in Enid Blyton adaptation and family franchise hopeful 'The Magic Faraway Tree' alongside Claire Foy, Jessica Gunning and Nicola Coughlan for Studiocanal, and was recently cast in Paul Greengrass' Focus Features thriller 'The Rage' about the Peasants' Revolt in 14th century England.
Among Garfield's other credits are 'We Live in Time,' 'Tick, Tick … Boom!' and 'Hacksaw Ridge.' The latter two landed him Oscar nominations for best actor, and for 'Tick, Tick … Boom!' he won a Golden Globe Award.
On TV, he earned an Emmy nomination for 'Under the Banner of Heaven.'

"Avatar: Fire and Ash" Trailer Is Finally Here
Yara Sameh Disney has finally unveiled the official trailer for director James Cameron's third 'Avatar' movie, titled 'Avatar: Fire and Ash.' The entry is scheduled to hit theaters on December 19, 2025, three years after 'Avatar: The Way of Water.' Just like 'The Way of Water' introduced the aquatic Metkayina clan of Pandora, 'Fire and Ash' will debut a new group called the Ash People. At the 2024 D23 Expo, Cameron came on stage to debut a teaser to attendees, which showed the fearsome, soot-covered tribe that danced around a giant fire pit. 'You'll see a lot more Pandora that you never saw before,' Cameron said at the 2024 D23 Expo. 'It's an insane adventure and a feast for the eyes, but it's also got very high emotional stakes, more than ever before,' Cameron said during the presentation. 'We're going into really challenging territory for all the characters you know and love.' Along with Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldaña, the returning cast includes Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Britain Dalton, Jack Champion, Trinity Jo-Li Bliss, Bailey Bass, Joel David Moore, Edie Falco, and Dileep Rao. Oona Chaplin plays the leader of the Ash People, Varang. David Thewlis and Michelle Yeoh are also joining the cast. The trailer shows Jake Sully's family and the Metkayina joining forces to fight against Varang and her fiery forces, who have allied with Quaritch (Lang). It appears that Varang can control fire, and her blazes burn down parts of Pandora's forest. 'Your goddess has no dominion here,' she says at the end of the trailer. 'The Way of Water' and 'Fire and Ash' were originally conceived as one film, but Cameron split them into separate movies once writing began and a massive story unfurled. He hinted at D23 that the Ash People are more violent and power-hungry than the Metkayina and the forest-dwelling Omaticaya. 'There are new characters, one especially I think you're gonna love, or love to hate,' he teased. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani
