Emails Reveal What UNC Donors, Alumni Really Think About Bill Belichick and His Girlfriend: ‘Already an Embarrassment'

Yahoo10-07-2025
The University of North Carolina (UNC) took significant backlash from donors, alumni, and faculty over the hiring of Bill Belichick as head football coach, primarily due to his relationship with 24-year-old Jordon Hudson.
Hudson and the eight-time Super Bowl-winning coach generated interest in their relationship with absurd social media posts, including the 73-year-old college football coach on the beach helping her with the ol' morning yoga routine.

But the novelty wore off when the young Siren interrupted a CBS interview after a question about their relationship.
'We're not talking about this,' Hudson told interviewer Tony Dokoupil, attempting to redirect the conversation to Belichick's book.
The network later claimed she interrupted the interview multiple times and was a 'constant presence' on set, raising concerns about her influence over Belichick.
It didn't take long for UNC donors and alumni to voice their displeasure in numerous emails.
UNC Donors Not Happy with Bill Belichick and His Lady Friend
Emails obtained through a public records request by the Daily Mail reveal widespread anger with the hiring of Bill Belichick, with one donor threatening to withdraw all financial support, calling the situation a 'total embarrassment' to UNC.

'What a total embarrassment to UNC. I am withdrawing all my donations and future donations,' the individual wrote.
From there, the anger grew more palpable.
Another complained that there isn't 'enough money to hire the numbers of professors we need, but paying a 73-year-old guy with no college football experience [sic] 10 millions is OK?'
According to the outlet, a faculty member blasted athletic director Bubba Cunningham and pleaded with him to end the experiment.
'When you agreed to pay a king's ransom to hire Bill Belichick, did you also know that you [were] hiring Jordon Hudson to serve as the primary face of UNC athletics?' they asked. 'She's already an embarrassment, and it's only going to get worse. Please end this circus before the season begins.'

Belichick has stated Hudson has no official role in the football program, but her influence continues to fuel negative perceptions.

Rob Gronkowski Rips The Couple
Rob Gronkowski, who won three Super Bowls with Belichick in New England, has been very vocal in his criticism that Hudson is only causing distractions as the coach tries to make his mark at North Carolina.
He said Belichick's successful career has been marked by a desire to eliminate distractions: 'And we're just looking down at the program in North Carolina, and it feels like there are just distractions 24/7 down there.'

Not everything is negative, however. Julian Edelman, who won three Super Bowls with the New England Patriots as a wide receiver, defended Bill Belichick and his girlfriend following the CBS interview dustup.
Edelman, on his 'Dudes on Dudes' podcast with Gronkowski, argued that Hudson was acting in a professional capacity, similar to Belichick's former aide Berj Najarian.
'From what I've heard, Jordon is playing the Berj role — handling all the football ops, handling a lot of his social, a lot of his PR,' Edelman said.
Whether it's UNC or a future NFL team, Belichick and Hudson, despite being separated by nearly 50 years in age, may be a package deal that fans will have to accept going forward.

Hudson, the 24-year-old former cheerleader, has been spotted wearing a ring on her left hand. The display further fueled engagement rumors. As did the coach, changing the name of his boat from 'VIII Rings' to 'I + VIII Rings.'

Destiny's Child Reunites Onstage During Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter Tour Finale In Vegas

Source: Kevin Mazur / Getty Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams reunited onstage during the final stop of the Cowboy Carter Tour in Las Vegas – and yes, the moment was as good as we thought it would be. Destiny's Child's stage moment marked the last show of Beyoncé's 32-stop tour across the U.S. and Europe. In true form, Queen Bey saved one of the biggest surprises for last. As soon as the trio emerged, concert-goers went wild. It was a dream moment for longtime fans who've been craving a full-circle performance since the Coachella 2018 cameo and Beyoncé's Super Bowl halftime show in 2013. Beyoncé, Michelle, and Kelly delivered a three-song medley that blended nostalgia and surprise — opening with 'Lose My Breath,' merging into Beyoncé's 'Energy' with Michelle and Kelly joining in for the now-legendary Mute Challenge, and closing with the fan-favorite 'Bootylicious.' Each of them took the stage with confidence, vocals, and a whole lot of style. Speaking of style, let's discuss fashion. Because the visuals alone of the trio in their gold fits are a moment. Beyoncé wore a high-cut gold sequin bodysuit with sheer mesh panels and long, layered fringe that dripped from her arms and legs. Her silhouette was curvaceous and commanding, and the gold shimmer hit under the stage lights like fire. Kelly stepped out in a gold knit bodysuit layered under shimmery wide-leg trousers with metallic texture. The fashion icon rocked trendy details, including star nips and a metallic belt. Michelle gave us fringe and fire. The Broadway star donned metallic gold pants with slits and layers of white fringe paired with a matching sparkly crop top. Throughout the Cowboy Carter Tour , Beyoncé brought out a long list of surprise guests – from country stars and rising voices to longtime collaborators and her husband Jay Z – but Destiny's Child reunion was the chef's kiss. The chemistry, the looks, and the sisterhood were unmatched. And just when fans thought the surprises were over, social media lit up again after the show. A now-viral video shows Beyoncé and her daughter, Blue Ivy, sharing sweet moments with former Destiny's Child member LeToya Luckett's children (shared with Tommicus Walker) backstage. In the clips, Beyoncé warmly greets the kids, posing for photos and smiling ear to ear. Blue Ivy also poses with them. The content reminds fans of the group's sisterhood and evolution over the years. Destiny's Child will forever be 'girls' girls,' and we are here for it. SEE ALSO Destiny's Child Reunites Onstage During Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter Tour Finale In Vegas was originally published on

100 NFL Players Busted For Selling Super Bowl LIX Tickets, Social Media Snitches

Source: Kevin Sabitus / Getty Super Bowl LIX was a hot ticket. Maybe too hot for some NFL players and employees. More than a hundred are set to be fined and/or lose their allocation for the next two Super Bowls after league sources revealed they sold their tickets for more than face value. 'Our initial investigation has determined that a number of NFL players and coaches, employed by several NFL Clubs, sold Super Bowl tickets for more than the ticket's face value in violation of the policy,' NFL chief compliance officer Sabrina Perel said in a memo sent out to all 32 NFL teams. The 100 players represent a little over 6% of the entire NFL player rosters. But per an ESPN report, there are team employees, including coaches, who are among the number who sold their tickets. 'This long-standing League Policy, which is specifically incorporated into the Collective Bargaining Agreement, prohibits League or Club employees, including players, from selling NFL game tickets acquired from their employer for more than the ticket's face value or for an amount greater than the employee originally paid for the ticket, whichever is less,' the memo continued. Players and team personnel sold the tickets to 'bundlers' who were working with resellers, per the memo. Penalties will increase for anyone deemed to be working with the bundlers to help facilitate sales. Fines would be one and a half times what the player or employee sold the ticket for, and they would lose the chance to acquire them for the next two Super Bowls. There could also be suspensions involved. Some of the players involved have already elected to pay the fines. Those who lose their allotment would only be able to purchase tickets if they are playing in the Super Bowl. The league would not release names of players, coaches or team personnel who were part of the crackdown. Tickets for Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, which resulted in a 40-22 win for the Philadelphia Eagles vs. the Kansas City Chiefs, ranged in cost from $2,588 to nearly $3,500 for the cheapest seats. On the high end, some tickets were more than $10,000. Try it free SAN FRANCISCO — In a flash, the Mets showed the offensive firepower Sunday that gives them a chance for excellence. Between a talented rookie hitting a ball into McCovey Cove behind Oracle Park and the highest-paid player in major league history launching a go-ahead blast later in that seventh inning, the Mets were quite the show — and more importantly toward their mission, they were quite successful. The Mets extended their winning streak to seven games, matching a season high, and moved 1 ½ games ahead of the Phillies for first place in the NL East. It was the latest positive sign the Mets have seen from the 24-year-old Mauricio in his comeback from a lost season due to multiple knee surgeries and a needed contribution from Soto, who had tiptoed quietly over the past week. Mauricio finished 4-for-4 with two RBIs — his first career four-hit game — to lead a 12-hit Mets attack. 5 Mets' Juan Soto, right, celebrates in front of San Francisco Giants catcher Patrick Bailey, left, after hitting a home run during the seventh inning of a baseball game in San Francisco, Sunday, July 27, 2025.
