Brahim Díaz will ultimately stay at Real Madrid
While Saudi clubs such as Neom SC, Al-Hilal, and Al Nassr were ready to splash out nearly €40 million to secure Brahim Díaz, the Moroccan international has reportedly made his decision.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the 25-year-old attacking midfielder has agreed to all the terms of his new contract with Real Madrid. His extension is virtually finalized. Despite being courted from all sides, the player's only priority was to remain with Real.
For the record, Brahim Díaz is coming off a mixed season with Los Merengues: 31 La Liga appearances, including 16 starts, with 4 goals and 2 assists. Despite reports of a reduced role under Xabi Alonso, the former AC Milan player has apparently chosen to fight for his place.

Manchester City's Vitor Reis set to join CFG-owned Girona on loan deal
Manchester City defender Vitor Reis is set to join Girona on a loan deal. The arrangement between the sister clubs in the City Football Group (CFG) will see the centre-back join Michel's side for 2025-26. Girona have previously had loan agreements for former City full-back Yan Couto and current City winger Savinho, who was on loan at the Catalan club from CFG-owned Troyes, who went on to become senior internationals with Brazil. Advertisement Reis, 19, joined City in January from Palmeiras for an initial fee of €35million (£29.5m, $35.8m), signing a four-and-a-half contract through to the summer of 2029. The defender made four appearances for Pep Guardiola's side since his arrival, none of which coming in the Premier League. He played all 90 minutes in the 2-0 win over Wydad at the Club World Cup this summer. Manchester City have facilitated multiple loan deals to Girona in recent years, with City Football Group (CFG) owning a 30 per cent stake in the La Liga club. CFG had previously owned a 47 per cent stake, but it sold 17 per cent to an independent blind trust in order to comply with UEFA's multi-club ownership rules, allowing both teams to compete in the Champions League. Reis made 22 appearances for Palmeiras after coming through the youth system of the Brazilian side. He signed his first professional contract towards the end of the 2022 season and soon established himself as a regular starter in central defence for Abel Ferreira's side. He was one of a number of young Palmeiras players to earn moves to Europe. Reis came through Palmeiras' youth system as the same time as Endrick and Luis Guilherme, who moved on to Real Madrid and West Ham United respectively in 2024. Estevao Willian, also his team-mate at the time, joined Chelsea this summer. ()

Tottenham enter battle with Premier League rivals for La Liga sensation
Tottenham enter battle with Premier League rivals for La Liga sensation originally appeared on The Sporting News The summer exit of Heung-min Son did more than mark the end of a glittering chapter at Tottenham - it has opened up a void on the left side of the attack that the club can no longer afford to ignore. Chairman Daniel Levy, who has been cautious but deliberate in the market is now narrowing his sights on a player who has long been admired inside Spurs' recruitment department. According to AS, that player is Real Madrid's Rodrygo Goes, whose future in Spain is becoming less certain with every passing week. Tottenham have already contacted Real Madrid to request permission to speak directly with Rodrygo's representatives. So far, the winger has not expressed any desire to leave the Bernabeu, but his reduced minutes during the Club World Cup under new manager Xabi Alonso have not gone unnoticed. The emergence of 21-year-old Gonzalo Garcia and the arrival of Argentine talent Franco Mastantuono have added to the growing competition for places in the Madrid front line. 📲 Follow The Sporting News on WhatsApp Rodrygo's preferred position on the left wing has long been occupied by Vinicius Junior. According to the same report, the financials might be the least of Tottenham's concerns. With Son gone, the club is shedding its highest wage of €11m [$12.7m] annually, which creates ample salary room. Rodrygo earns €400,000 [$462,322] a week, per Capology, a figure Tottenham could potentially meet with help from the club's new American investor. Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs now hover in Rodrygo's orbit Reportedly, before finalizing any pursuit of Rodrygo, Tottenham are focusing efforts on a move for Joao Palhinha as new boss Thomas Frank has prioritized the Bayern Munich midfielder. Once a deal is struck there, Levy is expected to escalate talks with Madrid. Liverpool are reportedly also monitoring the winger, especially after Newcastle rejected their £120m [$160m] bid for Alexander Isak. Arsenal remain in the mix but are reportedly deterred by Rodrygo's salary demands, per Arsenal Insider, after already spending £200m [$265m] this window.
