Patriots OC Josh McDaniels gives Stefon Diggs update after viral video
To say that Stefon Diggs has had a rocky start with the New England Patriots would be an understatement at best. However, according to offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, the star receiver was in the building for Monday's open OTAs session.
That's good news for a Patriots team looking to get back to the business of football after dealing with the fallout from Diggs' viral video at a boat party over Memorial Day weekend last week. The four-time Pro Bowler was caught on camera talking up multiple women and passing out a clear bag with an unknown pink substance in it.
Patriots coach Mike Vrabel sent a strong message to his players in the aftermath of the incident by stressing the importance of making good decisions on and off the field. Vrabel wouldn't confirm if he spoke with Diggs directly about the incident.
"Any conversations that I've had with Stefon will remain between him and I," said Vrabel.
The Patriots' potential turnaround season is greatly dependent on a much-improved offense and second-year quarterback Drake Maye having the necessary talent around him to succeed. Diggs was signed to a three-year, $69 million deal in hopes that he would serve as a top contributor.
However, there's also a reason for the Patriots only fully guaranteeing $16.6 million on the deal. They weren't exactly all in on a receiver who is 31 years old and coming off a torn ACL injury. There's also the other outside drama that tends to follow Diggs.
The Patriots remain hopeful that everything works out for the best, but it's clear they prepared for the very real possibility that it might not.

Patriots Rookie Running Back TreVeyon Henderson Predicted to Become Starter

Patriots Rookie Running Back TreVeyon Henderson Predicted to Become Starter originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Rhamondre Stevenson has kept a stronghold on the New England Patriots' starting running back job over the past two seasons, appearing first on the depth chart in 26 of the team's 34 games. Advertisement But Stevenson showed some chinks in his armor during the previous campaign, as he fumbled the ball seven times, which led to his benching at one point in the . Ball security will almost certainly be one of Stevenson's priorities heading into 2025, and improvements in that area will boost his stock in a competitive Patriots running back room. Bleacher Report's Mitch Milani, however, predicts Stevenson will eventually lose his spot on the depth chart to an up-and-coming talent: rookie TreVeyon Henderson. In fact, Stevenson topped Milani's list of "NFL Stars Who'll Lose Jobs," which Milani discussed in an episode of Bleacher Report's NFL Daily Live Show on Monday. 'Rhamondre Stevenson has a little bit more competition than he's had in previous seasons. Not only does he have a new regime, a new head coach and a former – but also new – offensive coordinator, but he also has a new member in his backfield," Milani said in the video. "TreVeyon Henderson – out of Ohio State, [a] second-round pick – was one of, if not the, most explosive running back in the entire draft class. And now, he is fighting, pushing Rhamondre for his starting job.' Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson (32) holds the national championship trophy after his team's defeat of Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff title game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Jan. 21, Cairns / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images Milani anticipates that Stevenson, should he lose the starting job, will continue to be relied upon and earn game reps in the backfield, but he believes Henderson has a higher ceiling in Josh McDaniel's offensive system, which has historically relied on pass-catching running backs. Advertisement "When we think of the Tom Brady era of Patriot football... We think of the Kevin Folk's, and the Shane Vereen's, and the James White's of the world," Milani said. "Henderson fits that role. But even more so, more expansively, he is a more explosive player, or [a more] highly-touted player, than any one of those running backs." Henderson, the No. 38 overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft, is coming off a national championship season with Ohio State, which won the first-ever 12-team College Football Playoff in January. In his final season with the Buckeyes, he served as a team captain on offense and rushed for 1,1016 yards on 144 carries, resulting in him earning a place on the All-Big Ten Conference Third Team. Family mourns loss of ‘vibrant' woman killed in Western Mass. motorcycle crash

A family is mourning the loss of 'a vibrant and spirited' woman — Madisen Taylor — who lost her life in a car crash involving a motorcycle in Western Massachusetts over Memorial Day weekend. 'Madisen's loving and warm personality made a significant impact on the lives of those who knew her,' Taylor's obituary reads. 'She will be deeply missed.' Taylor died in a crash between a car and a motorcycle in Agawam in the early evening of Saturday, May 24. Agawam police responded to the crash at the intersection of Suffield Street and Adams Street shortly before 5:10 p.m. At the scene, officers found Taylor with severe injuries. Firefighters brought her to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield where she later died. Taylor grew up in Ware and attended Pathfinder High School, her obituary states. Taylor's education helped her develop 'a passion for horticulture and gardening' as well as a 'deep appreciation for the beauty of nature.' She later moved to Agawam and started working in a dog daycare business. 'This career not only highlighted her nurturing nature but also her desire to bring happiness to the lives of others,' Taylor's obituary reads. 'Madisen's spirit was one of vibrant kindness; she had a smile that could light up a room and she gave the best hugs.' Outside of work, Taylor loved to sing and spend time outdoors, including at botanical gardens, the Quabbin Reservoir and the Swift River. The 26-year-old is survived by her parents, sister, fiancé, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Meanwhile Agawam and State Police and the Hampden County District Attorney's Office are investigating the crash. No further information has been released.
