Govt extends tenure of Punjab & Sind Bank MD till Feb 2027

The government on Monday extended the tenure of incumbent Punjab & Sind Bank MD and CEO
Swarup Kumar Saha
till February 2027.
Saha was initially appointed as
MD and CEO
of the bank for three years. He assumed the charge as MD & CEO of Punjab & Sind Bank on June 3, 2022.
According to a notification issued by the
Department of Financial Services
, the government has extended the tenure of Saha as MD and CEO of Punjab & Sind Bank beyond his currently notified term which was ending on June 2, 2025 till the date of his superannuation that is February 28, 2027 or until further order.
The notification comes following the approval of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
For the fourth quarter ended March 2024, Punjab & Sind Bank had reported over two-fold jump in net profit at Rs 313 crore, as against Rs 139 crore in the year-ago period.

During the quarter, the bank's total income increased to Rs 3,836 crore, from Rs 2,894 crore a year ago. Interest income grew to Rs 3,159 crore in the reported quarter, from Rs 2,481 crore in the fourth quarter of FY24.
Net Interest Income (NII) in the reported quarter also improved to Rs 1,122 crore, from Rs 689 crore in the same period a year ago. PTI

Remove Ads A 43-year-old private employee from Alwal, Hyderabad, lost more than Rs 70 lakh in an elaborate online trading scam after being lured by cyber fraudsters impersonating representatives of Zerodha, a legitimate stock trading platform, police officials to a report by The Times of India, the victim was first contacted via WhatsApp by individuals identifying themselves as Hanan Delvi and Ishita Paul. The fraudsters convinced him to install what they claimed was a Zerodha trading application through a shared web April 30 and May 26, the victim made a series of bank transfers totalling Rs 72.55 lakh to various accounts provided by the scammers, believing he was investing in legitimate stock market build trust, the fraudsters initially credited Rs 1.73 lakh to the victim's account on May 14, claiming it was his trading profit. However, when the victim later attempted to withdraw Rs 15 lakh, he was told that his account had accumulated Rs 2.19 crore in profits, but to access it, he would have to pay Rs 43.93 lakh as a 'tax payment'.Alarmed by the massive tax demand, the victim visited the official Zerodha office in Begumpet and was informed that both the app and the trading account were victim promptly reported the fraud through the 1930 cyber crime helpline and lodged a complaint with the Cyberabad cyber crime his complaint, authorities registered a case under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including 318(4) (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 319(2) (cheating by personation), 336(3) (forgery for purpose of cheating), 338 (forgery of valuable security, will, etc.), 340(2) (using as genuine a forged document or electronic record), read with 3(5) (common intention), along with section 66-D of the Information Technology Act, The Times of India are ongoing.(Disclaimer: Recommendations, suggestions, views and opinions given by the experts are their own. Radico Khaitan jumps 11% in seven days

Radico Khaitan rallied 1.54% to Rs 2,710.95, extending gains for the seventh consecutive trading session. Shares of Radico Khaitan surged 11.07% in seven trading sessions from its recent closing low of Rs 2,440.65 on 26 May 2025. The stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 2,790 today. The counter has soared 89.72% from its 52-week low of Rs 1,428.95 hit on 26 May 2024. On the BSE, 0.46 lakh shares have been traded so far, compared with average daily volumes of 0.11 lakh shares in the past two weeks. The stock had outperformed the market over the past month, rising 7.02% as against the Sensex's 0.24% rise. The scrip had outperformed the market in the past three months, jumping 28.76% as against a 9.85% rise in Sensex. The counter had also outperformed the market in the past year, soaring 72.47% as against Sensex's 12.37% increase. On the technical front, the stock's daily RSI (relative strength index) stood at 69.584. The RSI oscillates between zero and 100. Traditionally, the RSI is considered overbought when above 70 and oversold when below 30. On the daily chart, the stock was trading above its 50-day, 100-day, and 200-day simple moving average (SMA), placed at 2,452.52, 2,318.75, and 2,268.44, respectively. These levels will act as crucial support zones in the near term. Radico Khaitan is among the oldest and one of the largest manufacturers of Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) in India. It is one of the few companies in India to have developed its entire brand portfolio organically. The company's standalone net profit jumped 59.76% to Rs 90.71 crore on a 20.9% rise in net sales to Rs 1,304.08 crore in Q4 FY25 over Q4 FY24.
