Bailey hits sacrifice fly in 10th to lift Giants over D-backs and snap 4-game losing streak
The Giants led 5-3 heading into the ninth, but Geraldo Perdomo led off with a single and then Ketel Marte — who was named a National League All-Star starter at second base earlier in the day — launched a tying homer to right off Camilo Doval for his 18th long ball of the season.
San Francisco retook the lead in the 10th on Bailey's fly ball to center after Lee advanced to third on an infield single by Heliot Ramos. Doval (4-2) worked the bottom of the 10th for the win.
San Francisco's Mike Yastrzemski went deep on the second pitch of the game, driving a fastball into the right field seats. Lee's triple drove home Wilmer Flores to make it 2-0 in the first.
The Giants pushed their advantage to 3-0 in the fifth on Rafael Devers' RBI single.
Alek Thomas hit a leadoff homer to cut the deficit to 3-1 and the next three batters reached base against Landen Roupp with no outs. Lefty Erik Miller did an admirable job getting out of the jam, allowing Josh Naylor's sacrifice fly but perserving a 3-2 lead.
Arizona's Merrill Kelly gave up three runs on five hits and three walks over six innings. The right-hander struck out three.
The D-backs' first two batters of the seventh inning reached base, but reliever Randy Rodriguez got out of the tough spot by striking out Tim Tawa and getting Naylor to ground into a double play.

The seven-time Formula 1 champion was an executive producer on the film, which stars Brad Pitt as a hard-bitten racer making a late-career comeback. 'We literally just finished it, so I think the last thing we want right now is a sequel,' Hamilton said Thursday ahead of the British Grand Prix. 'It's been four years in the making. It was a lot of work, particularly for (director Joseph Kosinski). It's time away from your family, it's time away from your kids, and also you need this to just simmer for a while, you know. Like, let's enjoy it. 'I think the worst thing we probably could do is to rush into doing a sequel," the Ferrari driver added. "Most sequels are way worse, and so we don't need to rush it. I think if we do do a sequel, I would say let's really, really take our time in getting it even better.' Djokovic sets another record at Wimbledon and jokes about sipping margaritas on beach with rivals
LONDON (AP) — Novak Djokovic added another record to his name by reaching Wimbledon's third round for a 19th time with a 6-3, 6-2, 6-0 win over Dan Evans on Centre Court on Wednesday. It was Djokovic's 99th match win at Wimbledon overall, and the 19 third-round appearances put him one ahead of Roger Federer for most by any man in the Open Era. It's hardly the most prestigious record for Djokovic, whose 24 Grand Slam titles — including seven at Wimbledon — are the most by a male player. But he could at least use it to poke fun at his new, and much younger, main rivals. 'Nineteen times, that's a great stat,' said the 38-year-old Djokovic. 'That's probably almost as much as Sinner and Alcaraz have years in their lives.' Well, not quite. Carlos Alcaraz, who beat Djokovic in the last two Wimbledon finals, is 22, while No. 1-ranked Jannik Sinner — who was playing later on Centre Court — is 23. Guardians pitcher Luis Ortiz placed on paid leave due to MLB investigation reportedly related to gambling

The team did not provide details on the investigation, saying it was "not permitted to comment further at this time." The investigation is believed to be related to gambling, multiple sources told Zack Meisel and Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. Advertisement Ortiz, 26, will go on paid leave through the All-Star break, per Meisel. The news comes just hours before Ortiz was expected to take the mound against the Chicago Cubs. With Ortiz on leave, the Guardians will turn to Joey Cantillo to start Thursday's game. After a promising season in 2024, in which Ortiz posted a 3.32 ERA over 37 appearances with the Pittsburgh Pirates, he was traded to the Guardians in December. He opened the season in Cleveland's rotation and has a 4.36 ERA over 88 2/3 innings. In 16 starts, Ortiz has a 4-9 record. His nine losses lead the American League.
