Bobby Sherman, former teen idol and Here Come the Brides star dies aged 81, John Stamos announces

Yahoo10 hours ago

Bobby Sherman, the 1960s teen idol and actor best known for his role on Here Come the Brides, has died. He was 81.
Sherman's death comes just months after his wife of 29 years, Brigitte Poublon, shared the news of his stage four kidney cancer diagnosis.
John Stamos — an ambassador for the couple's charity, the Brigitte and Bobby Sherman Children's Foundation — announced the news in an Instagram post on behalf of Poublon, with the caption: 'From one ex teen idol, to another - rest in peace Bobby Sherman.'
Poublon's statement read: 'Bobby left this world holding my hand—just as he held up our life with love, courage, and unwavering grace through all 29 beautiful years of marriage. I was his Cinderella, and he was my prince charming. Even in his final days, he stayed strong for me. That's who Bobby was—brave, gentle, and full of light.'
In addition to his role as Jeremy Bolt on the Western comedy series Here Come the Brides, Sherman was well-known for his hit songs 'Julie, Do Ya Love Me,' 'Easy Come, Easy Go,' 'La La La,' and 'Little Woman.'
Those four songs all landed in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 in 1969 and 1970, propelling him to fame as a teen idol and heartthrob.
Sherman went on to appear in the early 1970s TV series Getting Together, and had roles on Mod Squad, The Love Boat, Sanchez of Bel Air, and Frasier.
Despite his success as an actor and singer, Sherman ultimately left entertainment in pursuit of a career in public service. He became a technical reserve police officer with the Los Angeles Police Department, as well as an EMT.
Sherman formally retired in 2024.
Poublon shared the news of Sherman's stage four kidney cancer diagnosis on March 25 in a Facebook post.
Speaking to Fox News days later, she revealed that Sherman was 'at home with special care.'
'He was doing crossword puzzles with me in the last few days. And then all of a sudden Saturday, he turned around and…he's just sleeping more and his body's not working anymore. It's not. Everything's shutting down,' she told the outlet at the time.
Poublon said she read Sherman fan letters from 'all over the world' while he rested in his final days. 'He soaked up every word with that familiar sparkle in his eye. And yes, he still found time to crack well-timed jokes—Bobby had a wonderful, wicked sense of humor. It never left him. He could light up a room with a look, a quip, or one of his classic, one-liners,' her Instagram statement continued.
'But to those who truly knew him, Bobby was something much more,' Poublon's statement continued. 'He was a man of service. He traded sold-out concerts and magazine covers for the back of an ambulance, becoming an EMT and a trainer with the LAPD. He saved lives. He showed us what real heroism looks like—quiet, selfless, and deeply human.'
'He lived with integrity, gave without hesitation, and loved with his whole heart. And though our family feels his loss profoundly, we also feel the warmth of his legacy—his voice, his laughter, his music, his mission.'
In addition to Poublon, Sherman is survived by his two sons with first wife Patti Carnel, Tyler and Christopher, and six grandchildren.

YouTube star, animal activist Mikayla Raines dies by suicide after extreme online bullying, her husband claims

A beloved YouTube star and passionate animal rights activist died by suicide after enduring relentless online bullying, her heartbroken husband revealed. Mikayla Raines, a popular content creator and founder of the Save A Fox rescue center, was the victim of an 'online bullying campaign' from people she knew and those who worked at 'other animal sanctuaries' over the years, her husband Ethan Frankamp said in a heartbreaking YouTube video Monday. The 29-year-old was also a mom to a baby daughter. 'I wish you had to watch helplessly as paramedics attempted to revive her lifeless body.' Advertisement Recently, Raines' close friends began to criticize her, according to Frankamp. He claimed the criticism caused her mental health to take a tragic turn for the worse. 'She felt as if the entire world had turned against her,' he shared. 'She has always battled with borderline personality disorder, causing emotional instability as well as impulsive behaviors, but this time it went too far. She couldn't bear what she was feeling any longer and she ended her life.' Frankamp added that his wife also had autism and struggled with depression. He ended the tearful video by telling critics spreading 'garbage' rumors to 'shut up' — and urged people feeling 'lost and hopeless' to reach out to a loved one or call a hotline for help. 'Angel' Chrome Is The Ethereal Nail Trend That's Sweeping Salons

All linked products are independently selected by our editors. If you purchase any of these products, we may earn a commission. A pattern is unfolding when it comes to the nail trends that are dominating 2025 so far: they're undeniably minimal. While some beauty trends are all about making a statement, the manicures that have been all over my feed this year are simple, understated and pared-back. Take soap nails, 'no-makeup' manicures or princess nails, for example, all of which whisper rather than shout. The latest manicure trend to emerge is just as sophisticated, but there's a little more edge to it. Enter: 'Angel' chrome nails. Coined by nail artist San Sung Kim, angel chrome typically consists of a nude base — similar to that of soap nails. It then enlists a cat eye gel polish with magnetic particles to create a glassy finish and is topped with a dusting of chrome in the centre. Kim's viral creation isn't the only iteration. Clara Clarissa Rianto 's version boasts silver cat eye polish with a slick of chrome at the very tip of the nail. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Clara Clarissa Rianto (@cclaracr) 'Angel chrome nails are a soft, ethereal take on chrome nails, featuring a dreamy, pearlescent glow with a delicate, almost angelic sheen,' explains pro nail artist Jessica White. Created by layering a few different polishes, angel chrome nails tend to use a soft colour palette with a hint of shimmer. 'They usually have an opalescent or milky white base with a reflective, iridescent chrome powder layered on top, giving them a luminous, otherworldly effect,' says White. Some nail artists are also referring to the trend as 'aurora' nails because the finish often resembles the glimmering Aurora Borealis. Just like the other subtle nail art that's proving popular right now, angel chrome nails are all about embracing a colour palette of pretty neutrals and soft pastels. The difference between a finish like this and something like a nail tint is the finish: ultra-shiny, slightly metallic and deliciously glossy, almost as though your natural nails have been dipped in pearls. @lostcherrybunny @✧˖° ally🐰ྀི i love cat eye sm 😭 #chromenails #cateyenails #gelx #nailart #nailtutorial ♬ ABCD - NAYEON How do you create angel chrome nails? Much of the inspiration that I've spotted online has been gel manicures, and White points out that this is because a professional chrome powder application over gel lends the most intense effect. Plus, magnetic cat eye polish is usually a gel. Happily, it is also possible to recreate a similar look at home. 'Start with a sheer, milky white or soft pink base coat, then apply a pearlescent or iridescent top coat to create that signature glow,' White explains. She recommends OPI Funny Bunny, $21.95, a soft milky white, with OPI Kyoto Pearl, $21.95, a shimmery shade, layered on top to create 'the classic angel chrome look with a pure, heavenly glow' at home. To enhance that glassy, three-dimensional look and to help the iridescent colours beneath pop, finish with a high-shine glossy top coat like Essie Gel Couture Gel Top Coat, $18.99. Alternatively, if you want a speedy alternative to layering up polishes then White suggests using one of the brilliant chrome-effect nail polishes on the market instead. Nails Inc. Better On Top, $20, and Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Nail Polish in Let's Get Digital, $18.95, are two great options. Inspired? Love Island USA Fans Call Out Yulissa Escobar for Using the N-Word

We're only one episode into Love Island USA Season 7, and there's already a contestant on the verge of cancellation. Love Island fans have called out a new Islander named Yulissa Escobar for casually dropping the N-word. To be clear, this didn't happen on the show. Peacock hasn't gotten that out of control. However, her comments happened during two separate podcast appearances. The clips are circulating online, and the situation has Love Island fans livid. Season 7 of Love Island USA premiered on Tuesday, June 3. In the days leading up to the premiere, fans had somehow resurfaced clips of Yulissa on a podcast using the N-word a total of three times. The clips show her using the racial slur when talking about some boyfriend drama. Yulissa's Instagram comments started getting flooded with angry fans. If you didn't believe us, just take a peek at her cast announcement from the show's Instagram account. There are hundreds of comments from fans promising to use the Love Island USA app to vote this woman out of the Villa. 'America this is your chance to finally getting the voting right,' wrote one fan. Another added, 'Get her out of my villa.' As reported by TMZ, Yulissa has been getting dragged on her personal Instagram as well. She's too busy looking for love in the Villa to know, but one of her friends is on Instagram defending Yulissa's use of the slur. 'lol… y'all act like you never said the N word before, stop being so f*cking sensitive,' commented Yulissa's friend, Maria. Unfortunately, Yulissa isn't the first Islander to get busted using anti-Black language. Season 6's Hannah Smith got arrested outside of a Gracie Abrams concert after throwing a racially-charged tantrum and threatening to kill a police officer. Maybe Hannah and Yulissa should start a podcast. Love Island USA continues tonight at 9/8c on Peacock. TELL US – WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE LATEST LOVE ISLAND CONTROVERSY?
