One of the rejected city girls on Farmer Wants A Wife unravels as she's put on a Royal Flying Doctor Service plane and air-dropped back in the big smoke.
We're not even 24-hours into Channel 7's wholesome reality show, but these sheilas have already started picturing a romantic life in the outback while scream-singing the lyrics to Cowboy Take Me Away.
Their dreams go up in smoke when the farmers set fire to the fantasy like a cane paddock in crushing season.
We're still in the speed date rounds on Tuesday night. All the farmers suffer through meet-and-greets with their respective flocks of ladies before deciding who to put on the first locomotive outta town.
About 12 sheilas are given a one-way ticket. Some of them don't take the news well – like Kaitlin. She might've only spent a total of three minutes with Farmer Tom, but that doesn't mean her feelings aren't deep.
'I thought we had a good connection on our speed date,' she fumes to us before walking off camera. 'I just feel completely blindsided, to be honest. I just can't do this.'
Kaitlin, it has barely been 10 hours since the show started filming. Get a grip. Just go back to the city and try flirting with random men at the R.M. Williams store in Westfield.
Meanwhile, all the other girls are desperately trying to impress their farmers.
Some chick called Ashlee even brings a prop.
'I enjoy making mood board,' she tells Farmer Jarrad, holding up a giant piece of cardboard with various scraps of junk glued to it. 'So, it's a board of things I want to achieve and accomplish.'
'I don't think I've seen a mood board in real life before,' Farmer Jarrad grunts.
Same. Does Ashlee know about Pinterest?
'I was thinking we can put it somewhere in our farm!' she says.
Great idea! How about in the wood chipper?
Mood boards aren't the only boards Ashlee enjoys.
'I enjoy cheese boards!' she squeals.
Speaking of boards, we're bored.
It's during these first few days that many of the hopefuls try disguising their high-maintenance city girl habits. They talk with hammed-up ocker drawls and lie about how they love gettin' dirty with some hard yakka.
'Bloody oath!' one lady growls.
'I love being covered in dust and mud!' insists another.
'I've got a LandCruiser!' promises one gal, and we immediately demand she prove it by showing us a copy of her car rego papers.
The fibs don't stop there.
'This is absolutely gorgeous!' one girl gushes as Farmer Corey's ute pulls up at his dry patch of land in Biloela.
We then get an aerial shot of the allegedly 'gorgeous' property:
Over at Farmer Jarrad's joint, he picks one sheila for a solo date and then does the cringiest thing a man can do in the modern dating world: He pulls out a guitar and sings at her.
'This is a song I've been workin' on for a little bit …' he says, before plucking the strings and warbling in a faux southern twang.
To quote Kaitlin from earlier in this episode: We feel completely blindsided. We just can't do this.

'The show is not being cancelled': Seven denies Sonia Kruger in trouble after debunking reports Dancing With The Stars not renewed
Channel 7 has publicly denied reports that Dancing With The Stars Australia will not be renewed after speculation the cancellation could impact the show's hosts Sonia Kruger and Dr Chris Brown. Dancing With The Stars is set to return to Channel 7 next week with 12 popular Australian celebrities set to tackle the foxtrot. Kruger, 59, is reportedly under contract with Seven for over $1 million a year and currently hosts The Voice and Dancing With The Stars. The TV star, who began her career as a ballroom dancer and appeared in the iconic film Strictly Ballroom, has been closely associated with the dance series since it first aired on Seven in 2004. However, the TV star could soon be down to just one gig at Seven amid reports the upcoming season of the long-running dance competition series will be its last. A TV insider who spoke to claimed Seven was 'tipped to axe' Dancing With The Stars because the show is too expensive to produce. Seven's decision to 'revive' the show in 2021 was reportedly at the centre of contract negotiations to woo Kruger back from Channel 9. The contract, which made Kruger one of the highest-paid women in Aussie TV, also included gigs on the now-cancelled Holey Moley and Big Brother. If true, Kruger will be down to just her hosting duties on The Voice to justify her seven figure salary, a rarity in the industry amid a massive drop in viewers and advertising revenue in free-to-air. In a statement to the Daily Mail, Seven debunked reports that Dancing With The Stars will not return to screens in 2026 and insisted 'the show is not being cancelled'. Nine gave Kruger her first on-air presenting role on the series Wonder World! in the 1990s before she moved over to Seven to work as an entertainment reporter. In 2011, Kruger joined Nine for the second time where she hosted the morning program Mornings alongside David Campbell and its successor Today Extra, as well as Big Brother and The Voice. Kruger was rehired by Seven in 2019 by then-CEO James Warburton, who she infamously called 'God' in her Gold Logie acceptance speech. Despite decades of experience, Kruger was only nominated for the Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter at the Logie Awards for the first time in 2022. She was first nominated for the Gold Logie Award for Most Popular Personality on Australian Television in 2022 and won the top gong in 2023.

Kane Cornes says sorry as secret AFL phone call emerges
Kane Cornes has made a formal apology to four AFL umpires after reports the whistleblowers were preparing to take legal action against the football pundit. It comes as it emerged on Thursday AFL chief executive Andrew Dillon personally intervened in the matter by setting up a group phone call with the umpires who were reportedly left furious by comments made by Cornes and fellow Channel 7 stars Luke Hodge and Dale Thomas. Cornes on Thursday apologised for comments he made about the four umpires when they had been publicly questioned about their handling of Lachie Schultz's ugly concussion in Round 9. The remarks were made on May 13 during Channel 7's Agenda Setters program. On Thursday night, Cornes apologised via his radio platform SEN. According to reports Hodge and Thomas are expected to make similar public comments on-air this weekend. 'On May 14th edition of SEN Sportsday I accused field umpires who were officiating that round nine match between Fremantle and Collingwood of misleading the AFL and that they had not seen the incident in which Collingwood's Lachie Schultz suffered a concussion,' Cornes said. 'I made some of those comments having seen two initial statements made by the AFL with regards to the matter on Friday May 9th, and then also on Tuesday May the 13th. And further comments after seeing the additional statement made by the AFL, readdressing their initial statements. 'Now in light of the additional statement, which made it clear that the umpires had not misled the AFL, I acknowledge that the allegations made by me on this show were false and I withdraw them. 'I understand the umpires truthfully told the AFL that they saw the incident and did not mislead the AFL. So I unreservedly apologise to Simon Meredith, Craig Fleer, Justin Power and Martin Roger for making these false allegations.' Collingwood's Schultz was left concussed during the club's round nine clash against Fremantle at Optus Stadium on May 8. The 27-year-old was evidently dazed after an ugly fourth-quarter collision with Fremantle's Jordan Clark as play continued to unfold. A day after match the AFL released a statement saying the umpires 'did not see the injured player at the time so play continued'. AFL executive general manager of football Laura Kane was then forced to come forward and admit the information given by the umpires was 'inconsistent' with new audio first uncovered by Channel 7's Agenda Setters. The audio, which can be heard in the above video player, appeared to show the umpires were aware of Schultz' condition. The saga took a fresh twist, however, only days later when the AFL issued a third statement which noted a miscommunication between the umpiring department and AFL House was to blame for the initial statement. The umpires — Simon Meredith, Craig Fleer, Justin Power and Martin Rodger — were left 'filthy' with the comments made on The Agenda Setters, per football journalist Tom Morris. Meanwhile, Seven reports Dillon on Wednesday moved to put an end to the saga by contacting the umpires. Less than 24 hours after Dillon's intervention, Cornes made his public apology. Speaking on Triple M, Thomas said, as of Wednesday morning, that he 'hadn't received any formal documents from anyone'. He added: 'While I am aware of the statement that's been made and the report, I honestly can't say anything more until more information or anything else is brought to light. 'Unfortunately I can't give any greater insight to it, but that's as much as I can say.'

According to a production insider who spoke to Woman's Day, the 2025 cast has been split into three different pay brackets to reflect their star power. Industry veterans Rebecca Gibney, ex-Bachelor host Osher Günsberg, and comedian Shaun Micallef are reportedly each earning $100,000 to take to the dance floor. Gibney, who won the prestigious Gold Logie in 2009 at the height of her Packed to the Rafters fame, is arguably the biggest name from this year's contestants. Beneath the top three earners, Olympic swimming legend Susie O'Neill, AFL star Trent Cotchin and 7NEWS presenter Michael Usher are reportedly receiving a clean $47,000. O'Neill, who won gold in both Atlanta and Sydney, was recently elected to the prestigious Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) board. At the bottom end of the scale are Olympic boxer Harry Garside, comedian Felicity Ward, Home and Away star Kyle Shilling and 7NEWS presenter Karina Carvalho. All four have reportedly signed on for the bargain price of just $27,000 in exchange for weeks of intensive dance training, minus management fees and tax. The surprisingly paltry salaries come as free-to-air broadcasters slash talent budgets in order to get more bang for their buck amid declining audience numbers. This year's season of Ten's I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Outta Here was reportedly the cheapest in the show's history.
